Viz Art Gallery - Depiction of The Great Wave off Kanagawa on a T-shirt, I dig!!!!!!!

I strolled into this gallery while visiting San Diego and it was absolutely fantastic. The owner,…read morean artist name Viz displays and sells artwork from artists he finds fascinating and his own personal work. One artist who is being displayed prints all his photographs onto a type of metal that means the picture will never fade and stay vivid forever. This artist travels the USA taking photographs all over and then printing and selling the work. (Can I do that too? Hehe) Viz's work began with a doodle. He doodle in his free time and then started adding other images into the bigger doodle. His artwork is incredible and you have to see it to understand what I mean. I'll attach a few photos below. If you're in the area, definitely stop by this shop.

I have been into art my entire life. I have works on display at a local coffee shop so when I come…read moreacross a new and different artist it truly sparks my interest. While attending Fiesta Hermosa (09-02-2013) I came across Viz Art Ink Gallery and artist Gregg 'Viz' Visintainer. Gregg is an amazing artist / amazing person and has actually been a guest speaker at the TED conferences. Gregg is a self-taught artist. Gregg has a very unique style of drawing. Like many other artists (including myself) while in school, instead of doing school work Gregg enjoyed doodling. After graduation Gregg took some time away from art but thrust himself back into the artistic world by creating a work of art called 'Lonely World' which took Gregg 3 months / 250 hours to finish. Viz Art Ink is all hand drawn using gel pen / ink. From afar there is a main image but up close you will find hidden pictures, words, messages and a lot of meaning that relates to each theme. Gregg & Viz Art Ink has been picked up by Element skateboards, Volcom, DC shoes, Gregs Skateboards, Skin-It, Grateful Dead, Falken Tires & Disney (Yes, that Disney). I do not believe in allowing artists to starve so I ended up picking an amazing T-shirt of one of Gregg's prints. The piece that I picked up was a depiction of Japanese art of The Great Wave off KanagawaI with a rising sun in the background. I am very pleased with my purchase and planning on visiting Gregg's gallery in Carlsbad to checkout more of his works of art. People like Gregg and Viz Art Ink is what keeps Fiesta Hermosa going. Make sure you set you the dates in your calendar and make sure you attend Fiesta Hermosa next year on Memorial & Labor Day weekends. If you are looking for an amazing work of art for a bare wall at your home you might have found it here with this review=)

OMA has everything this art lover is looking for and more. Their staff are super friendly and helpful contributing to the welcoming atmosphere of my museum experience. The exhibitions are always intriguing...current ones like The Art of Autism, Fabulous Fiber, Space Between, Stories that Connect Us, and Ventana Huichola are captivating. I love "The Touch This" experience. It's a fantastic opportunity to touch the art! My inner child enjoys this connection. The educational workshops for all ages are usually hands-on and engaging. There's FREE Art For All on the 1st Sundays from 12pm-2pm to join the fun art-making experience led by artists and cultural partners from the community. If you want to conversate with local artists, there's a FREE Coffee & Conversation also happening at the same time and of course other events with artists/educators to register for. All in all, OMA is by far the BEST museum I've been to. It definitely stimulates my mind and senses. Highly recommended!

David was incredibly welcoming after we paid for our admission at the front desk!!!…read more He gave us an intimate tour of how the exhibits at the museum works, while being very friendly towards our reactions and thoughts!!! I was super glad to come here as I've never experienced seeing so much musical instruments (old and new) in one place. This museum relies on watching/reading from their smooth and large tablets. David walked us through what each section was and pretty much said we're open to going anywhere around the museum. It was super cool to watch the vids of the instruments in action. I especially loved the interactive aspects!!! Got to play around with some instruments hands-on. More than just guitars and banjos, I got my hands on countless other instruments for the first time!!! I definitely wish to play the wind instruments only bc I played trumpet in highschool but I obviously understand the hygiene issues with that. You get to try out DJ systems, electric drums, harps, and there's even a kids' section!!! Super fun and you'll have a newfound appreciation for music instruments!!!

Hands down one of my favorite museums!…read more They're open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm Parking is free and easy since they have their own parking lot! Staff was so friendly and welcoming. Pricing for admission is so reasonable: - $15 for adults - $10 for seniors, students, and military - free for children under 3 & museum members This is a wonderful museum for adults and kids! Never have I seen so much history and different kinds of instruments! The best part was a lot of the instruments weren't just for display and they were available to play with! It was so much fun playing with instruments I never even knew existed! There were so many exhibits and variety of every instrument that I could easily spend the entire day here! I really appreciated how clean and spacious the museum was! There is even a small gift shop that offers a lot of cute instruments and miscellaneous musical items! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely recommend and return!
