Such an amazing experience! My husband and I took a make it yourself class where we both made glass hearts! It was so much fun. Gary was an awesome instructor. I think this is a great gift idea or date night for anyone. You can either make a round paperweight or a heart. They have a good variety of color options to pick from! They also give you the option to create your own color mixture. It took us about an hour to complete the class. We were able to pick up the glass hearts 24 hours after we finished!

We did a "Make your Own" class for 2 tonight and it was such a fun experience!! We had a great time working with Gary who answered all of our questions, taught us step-by-step how to make a beautiful glass sphere, and just altogether had such a fun time. I highly recommend checking out this experience, and the best part is taking home your beautiful creation a few days later!

What a great experience. Two of you get a private class for one hour learning how to make a glass paper weight or a heart. The first class does not involve blowing the glass, which makes more sense once you learn the basics of glass making. The instructors are really informative, eager, and seem to love what they're doing. Your piece has to anneal cool down slowly so you have to pick up your piece after 24 hours. Even for the price, the experience was well worth it, especially for a date.

Such a unique and exciting experience!! I have done both the Beginner Make Your Own class where we created beautiful paper weights as well as the 2 hour Private Lesson to create a vase, cup, or bowl. Both were just excellent. The Beginner class was a great way to get acquainted with the glass blowing process and equipment, which I previously knew nothing about. And then our second lesson was a fun way to expand our creativity to create something different. The instructors were also excellent. Since the equipment can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing (which we didn't), they did a great job keeping us protected while also allowing us to get the hands-on experience. We also enjoyed chatting to Mary, one of the owners, about how Barrio came to be. After your lesson you can also browse their gallery which is filled with beautiful pieces for sale from local glass blowing artists. If you don't plan on taking a lesson, you can also just stop by and sit in their front viewing area to see the artists at work. Lessons are not cheap but for me it was something I had always wanted to try so I was glad I did it! I definitely hope to return for another class at some point to add to my personal collection!

My girlfriend took me here as a surprise Christmas present since I have always wanted to try. It was an amazing experience!! We took the beginners build your own class and we got to make these glass ball things. Kelsey, our instructor, was extremely kind and knowledgeable in everything. She walked us through every step and was very reassuring when I was scared about burning myself hahaha. I would 100% recommend coming here :)

This was so much fun! We came in a group of 7 and truthfully had no idea what to expect. When we got to the place and saw all the equipment and felt the heat we were a little nervous. Staff was very thorough in their explanation of everything and we felt very safe the entire time. We learned so much! Never have I done something even remotely like this and was amazed by the whole process. You build your own items and get to take them home afterwards. They also demonstrated the fascinating glass blowing technique. A little pricy but would highly recommend for a fun family outing!

Excellent - that sums up my experience, the staff, the quality, etc. We have been wanting to try this for awhile and we finally booked it. Booked a Sunday 1 hour beginner course and arrive a little early. Free parking and plenty of it. You will first notice the colorful mural on the outside of the building, the large open windows, and the heat emanating from the different ovens inside. You check in at the gift shop, sign the waiver if you have not already done so online. The gift shop has many incredible items that are for purchase and some examples of what you will be doing / making from the previous classes. Your items are ready for pickup about 48 hours after the class ends. Chelsey was our instructor. She was incredible. Fun, nice, helpful and guides you through the whole process and never makes you feel dumb for asking questions. I think she mentioned her degree was in Art or related, and also a specialty in glass blowing or something like that and had been doing it for 8+ years. For the class we picked we got to choose between a paper weight or a heart. All materials are provided including gloves, eyewear, and the materials to make your items. You make a practice item together and then each person in your party makes their item. The ovens are warm, I think some were over 1400 degrees, so it does get toasty in there even with the windows open. Water is provided too. It was an incredible and fun experience, and you can take pictures and videos too. If you have been on the fence deciding, go for it, you will not regret it and they have a great satisfaction policy too, so you definitely will not regret it.

Great place to visit, watch the glass blowing, pick up a treasure for yourself or a friend. Beautiful selection of artisan glass. One of my favorite places to waste time!

GLASS BLOWING STUDIO (5 stars) Started 2023 with glass blowing!!! Spent 40 minutes in the studio for $75 and left with 2 glass pieces after 2 days of annealing. Photos are out of order but here's the run down. 1. Dab some clear blob with the pole 2. Melt clear blob in a chamber that's 2,100+F and turn slowly clockwise a few turns and then counter clockwise a few turns 3. Pick your blend of Frit 4. Dab the melted glass in the Frit 5. Stick back into the chamber and repeat step 2, then skip to step 6 6. Rest pole on table and pinch the blob with big metal tweezers, this is to mix the Frit colors to make your design 7. Stick back into chamber and repeat step 2, then skip to step 8 8. Rest pole on table and use various tools to shape the blob 9. Slowly roll pole as glass starts to cool off (yet still extremely hot) 10. Knob off the glass from the pole 12. Make a base and stamp it 13. Into the annealer for 2 today 14. Pieces will be packaged and ready for pick up in the gallery (not the studio area) 15. Glass balls aka paperweights, check!!! Yelp, you have some bugs. Photos not fully uploading and also out of order.

Wow this was unbelievably fun!!! My family had a fantastic time working with glass for the first time. Our instructor was very patient and knowledgeable. I felt safe the entire time. It was an incredible experience, and my son wants to continue private lessons. During your first private lesson, you are allowed to make a circular paperweight or a heart. I got to make both. Subsequent lessons have you learning how to make glassware. We saw an experienced student making incredible pieces of art. Everything was super fun and very well run. Highly recommend it!

What an experience! An absolute must do. I do wish we could have done more but you def need more experience and practice to start going big. And this truly makes you appreciate the craftsmanship and intricacies that goes into making these pieces of art. We got to choose from a globe or heart shaped paperweights. We got to select our colors, we got close to the heat, we twisted and turned, we cooled and heated, we knocked and stamped. And each step was closely guided by Gary, who was super friendly and sweet. The family story is just adorable. I don't want to give everything away, but this is an experience I'd do again.

Beautiful glass gallery. Multiple artists display their work for sale in the gallery. The studio with the furnace is in front, gallery in back. From functional glass like bowls, vases and glasses, to art pieces like butterflies, the gallery is wonderful. Well worth it to visit and support local artists.

One of the owners, Diane, was very pleasant and friendly in nature. One could tell she has a beautiful soul. My friend is a joker but loved and appreciated the quality of the work and had last been there about 5 years ago but remembered the excitement and pleasant experience at the store. It was a pleasant experience to enjoy my first time here with my friend and Diane. As I walked around the store I instantly fell in love with a small pair of green and blue glass earrings. I knew I wanted something to buy as a memorabilia. I must say of all of the pieces of jewelry that I own and as expensive as mine are, that these earrings are my favorite!!! They were inexpensive but so beautiful, caught the light in a way that was absolutely stunning on my complexion. Love them and have worn them every day since. As I was going to pay for my earrings my friend took notice of a beautiful peacock that was blue, green and had streaks of gold. When asked if I liked it of course I did who doesn't like peacocks, it was gorgeous. To my surprise, My friend bought me the small Peacock and my earrings!!! Of all the gifts that I have these are my prize possessions. They're absolutely beautiful, well made and made with love. I knew this shop was special and I can see that it's because of the integrity and craftsmanship that goes into each piece. Diane is a blessing and I wish nothing but good health, success and happiness for her and her family. I can't wait to bring my out of town family here!!! There's only a few places that I frequent and this will be one of them when I'm in the area to appreciate the art and buy something and the other is the seashell shop in Morro Bay, CA.

After emails and all my silly questions, (Diane is very patient) we had her create two (2) fluted pendants to hang in our kitchen over our island and she created a inverted fluted bowl to hang over our dinette table. They are amazing. Words can not describe how beautiful they are. The colors are so rich and lush. We love them and every time I look at them I think of San Diego. Diane you are very sweet. I have spent weeks trying to resolve this issue professionally and patiently, and I am extremely disappointed by the way your company has handled it. The class was canceled by your company - not by me - yet I have still not received either a replacement class, a gift card, or a refund despite numerous attempts to contact your team. I have called multiple times (at least seven separate occasions) and was repeatedly told that my information and emails would be passed along to management. I was later informed by an employee that my concerns were apparently never even documented or forwarded. That level of disorganization and lack of accountability is unacceptable for a business handling customers' money. I was initially told I could reschedule into another class, but then informed that no one even knows when another Fort Worth pop-up class will happen. After that, I was promised a gift card, which I also never received. At this point, I have been given nothing but inconsistent answers, ignored communications, and false assurances while your company continues to hold over $300 of my money. Your policy regarding missed classes is irrelevant in this situation because I did not fail to attend a scheduled class -- your company canceled the event and failed to provide a reasonable alternative afterward. 1 am formally requesting a full refund of $300.94 immediately.
