This place was a BBQ restaurant with some amazing decorations. We all ordered something different so we had to sample each other's food. This place had a unique charm about it. Pictures of artists from the past and some amazing stories to go with them. Gives you a rustic look. Our food came out very quickly and the plates looked good. We all enjoyed our food but I have to say the fried green tomatoes were fantastic. I had the brisket sandwich and it was delicious. I sampled my wife's chicken and waffles and it was also delicious. The ambiance is very national CHAIN 'like. What's horrid is, it caters to the 'experienced' pocketbook--yet, the evening lighting is dreary, so you can't see what you're eating. I presume it was clean, but cannot be certain 'cause it was too dark & dreary. (I usually avoid chains.) The host was all 'cheery' and such, but I would have none of it. When you ask, 'how are we?' My response will always be, either to turn around to look and RE-state that it's "dinner for one," or ignore him/them, or possible some other even more rude response (to such an ignor*** comment/question: I don't have a mouse in my pocket--do you, I am not an alien with a foreign entity living in my body, 'do I look pregnant?') Another server showed up and everything, service-wise, took a step forward. I am always clear and very particular on my food. I don't eat pork (clean food and religious reasons--both one and the same) and I don't eat Nightshades (food allergies). I clarified that the brisket was beef. I emphatically repeated that if it was NOT 'fatty' I did NOT want it. This wasn't casually declared . It was repeated, belabored and emphasized. I did NOT want it if it was NOT fatty. And we thoroughly examined the rest of the menu (side dishes) to ensure I could eat they (savory but NOT sweet and no pork). I settled on the Brussels sprouts and corn on the cob. The second server had promised to get my order out to me in five minutes. He pretty much executed--good on him. The brisket: over cooked and dry. I am disgusted that my highly specific request had been so blatantly ignored. The corn on the cob had been 'soaking' in something (water?) and it tasted like laundry water (no I've never drank dirty laundry water but we all know what it smells like and our taste buds respond to our olfactory senses. Food and prices here were surprisingly good. The waitstaff were friendly and awesome with young kids. I had a meatloaf on toast with fried onions and my husband had a chili soup of the day. Stay here for work once a year. This is only my second time eating at this spot. Usually have lunch as tits pretty quiet and chill. Service was really good. I was seated quick and was able to send in my order right away. Ordered the wings and cobb salad. Both were pretty tasty. Portions were big and ended up taking the rest to go. This place was good. The service was better. We got seated quickly and ordered quickly. The ambiance was great, there is live music and it was very good. The food. Brisket -- This was ok. The brisket was lathered with a good amount of sauce but still felt a little dry. Garlic mashed potatoes -- These were honestly the best mashed potato's I have had in a long time. Baked Mac&cheese -- This was good. I wish it had a little more flavor ( although this is coming from a southern maw maw ). The Dimond trio -- my granddaughter and her husband got this to split. ( they had A LOT of leftovers ). " all the sauces were really good and paired perfectly with each pice of meat." My granddaughters favorite was the ribs. Wings -- " they were good .... Went before a Grand Ole Oprey performance on a Friday night. Arrived about 5:15 pm. Promptly seated and greeted by waitress. Singer performing on stage and the place filled rather promptly do to GOO show. Ordered ribs with side of beans and slaw. Wifey ordered salmon with broccoli and a side salad. Meals came hot to the table. Ribs were delicious, sides were tasteless. Not being harsh, but sides had no flavor. Wifey salmon cooked to perfection, very tasty. Broccoli serving was very large. Plenty to share. Nothing bad to say. We were on our way to the GOO by 6 pm and were able to find parking and be on time for the show. Menu is limited which is probably a good idea. Place is not fancy, but has a friendly atmosphere. Service was good to excellent. Value was reasonable. Make note that the restaurant is in a Marriott Bonvoy hotel which was extremely busy. We were able to find parking close to the restaurant, which is a big plus. Would recommend as a reasonable place to eat. Entertainment was only ok. Proteins for meals were very good. Grabbing a bite to eat before I leave Nashville. Restaurant looks to be half full. I notice 1 manager and 1 server. Three tables that still need bussed. Six top walks in, they're waiting at the host stand, where the sign states clearly, "Please wait to be seated." Server and manager are in the kitchen. After (no kidding here) two minutes, six top decides to seat themselves. And not just any old table will do either! Nope! They all sit at one of the dirty tables. Yeah. Manager comes out running food. Table stops him, while he has a tray of food, to ask if he can clean the table. He asked if they were ready for their check, not knowing they just sat down. After their total confusion he explained that they're currently on a short wait because they are understaffed and was trying to apologize. You can guess how that went! "Look at all these empty tables!" "How hard is it to do your job?!" " I don't understand why you can't just get someone to clean the table!" Etc. As they left, he politely killed them with kindness with the "Thank ya'll, come back again!" Btw, service and food were fantastic! I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and tots with Dolly Parton 's Banana Pudding! Chefs kiss! Take it easy on the service industry folks, we're all doing the BEST we can! Advertising at our hotel said live music - ends up that's only 2-3 days a week and not on the night we were there. We knew right away it wasn't going to be good when we were sat at 6pm (peak dinner time) and we were only 1 of 3 tables occupied. We ordered the appetizer sampler to start, and two meals - the Diamond Rio BBQ trio and the Trace Adkins Just Fishin Fried Catfish. All the food tasted like it came right off the generic equivalent of a Sysco truck. The most redeeming part of the meal was the cheese triangles on the appetizer we ordered. The fried catfish was mostly breading and what little fish that was there was detached from the breading. Aside from the texture and the obvious visible cues there was no discerning between the ribs, the pulled pork, or the brisket. It all tasted the same sadly. Our server took a 20+ minute break during our meal - the host did come by once to check on us and to let us know that our server had, in fact, decided to take a break. No drink refills. She came to take our order. Disappeared. Came back with the check at the end of the meal. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
