Beautiful shop from jewelry, china,collectibles..friendly owners and one of the best shops left in Colorado!

Just keep on walking. This owner is nasty and doesn't care. Walked in with a coffee cup. Was immediately asked to remove my coffee. I mentioned I was holding the lid on but I started heading for the door. Her response was "We have rules for a reason!" I looked at her and just said "Really? You don't have to be that way". I visited store for the first time. I fell in love with a bracelet by Sweet Romance. It was an art deco piece. After purchasing the bracelet, I asked for the name of the company that made it. I went online to find other pieces. The bracelet that I bought was $39.00. The store, Ophelias Antique Gallery charged me $84.00 I was very disappointed at the pricing and felt it was excessive. I would never recommend this store to my friends who live nearby. read more

Ophelia's has such a great selection of things ranging from jewelry to house ware. Every time I travel somewhere I look for rings, this place has a wide selection of gorgeous rings/ jewelry. This is a neat little antique shop, but maybe a little overpriced. It depends because I sell antiques and one person's treasure is another's junk, so if you like it then buy it if you can afford it. The staff was very friendly and I didn't see a bunch of signs telling you not to touch stuff like the other reviews have to say. My husband and I stopped by Ophelia's Antique Gallery a few days ago. What an enchanting store! We met Julia and Steve and they were so wonderful to talk to. They have curated a beautiful set of new and antiques. The building was apparently an old bank building as there was a vault. They had some neat top hats and linens in there. The back section had a large selection of antique books. My favorite was the jewelry section. I had been looking for a pinky ring and found a gorgeous silver ring with garnets, which happens to be my birthstone. This fit the bill perfectly and the price was very reasonable. I definitely recommend the trip to Georgetown! read more

What a delightful way to spend an hour! This shop has beautiful imported glass items, antiques, old and rare books, clothing with a Victorian twist, and amazing unique jewelry. I come to Colorado every Sept. and never miss a day trip to Georgetown and visit to Ophelia's. Yesterday I purchased a fabulous sterling, marquisate, and crystal ring that I have already had numerous complements on. I highly recommend Georgetown and Ophelia's!! read more

Ophelia's is one of the few actual antique shops in Georgetown. She has a large variety of items, heavily emphasizing jewelry, ceramics & glass and quite a few books. Had a wonderful experience. Not sure what all these other grumpy reviews are from but the gentleman manning the store was super helpful! He was patient as I shopped and made a decision and ended up purchasing 2 Turkish lamps. Great store! Fun selection and super friendly staff!!! Prob not a great store for children (um it's an antique store so duh, take your handsy little ones a block down to the candy store). I'll be back for sure!!!! I have been to many antique galleries and this one is by far one of the worst. The selection was sub-par and the service was horrible. Upon handling an item I was hoping to purchase, I was yelled at and was told not to touch anything. Soon after I was yelled at for touching an item, some women were handling a Folkman Puppet (which are not at all antique) and was told they were not allowed to handle those in less they bought them. I understand that people don't like certain antiques handled, but that's why they make glass cases. The service was extremely rude, and the selection was poor, so for those reasons, I would never go back or recommend this shop to others. read more

Ok soo I'm pretty open minded but the last thing I wanna see when I walk in an antique store is rules everywhere. Every inch of this place had notes and signs. Don't do this. Don't do that. Don't touch this and soo on. Just gives you a uncomfortable feeling like your going to be yelled at at any second. She had some cool stuff but "no touching", soo the signs sent me right out the door. read more

Horrible...went to high tea with friends and stopped in here to browse and just like everyone else on here, was yelled at for anything we touched or looked at. We were told multiple times we can only touch if we are going to buy including jewelry I was looking at. She was like an angry librarian without the glasses. Not fun...even the children's puppet display was off limits. Apparently she didn't find the turtle puppet as funny as we did. read more

There isn't an incredibly huge selection or variety in items this store carries compared to other places I've been, but for the location I think that this place does a pretty good job. I agree that the book and jewelry portions of this store are impressive, but found that the glass sections weren't as big as I had hoped. I didn't find what I was looking for, and there just wasn't a huge amount of colored glass or carnival glass in general. Of course, it's important to remember that places like this are constantly changing out their stock, so maybe I just picked an off time to stop in. This isn't the kind of place you purchase an item with the mind to resell as it seems that the prices were accurate if not a little high for retail. read more

Decent selection of antique books, but most items overpriced. General inventory includes tourist trap items that are neither vintage nor antique. Staff was not friendly and when I took a picture of a book set to review later and perhaps show to some friends in Denver I was set upon and scolded like a school boy admonished by a cranky old recess teacher. Well, ma'am, you could have politely told me pictures weren't allowed and treated me like an actual paying customer! Needless to say, I didn't buy anything... read more

My family walked in this store and the owner said "I guess you didn't see the sign!" I asked what sign. "No strollers!" I said nope but I will leave. Just like all the other reviewers. This lady is a grumpy old lady and is very mean. She obviously doesn't need to make any sales and is just there because she has nothing else to do. read more

Ophelia's Antique Gallery is one of the very few around. The antiques are very fairly priced. The quality of the inventory is very impressive. Very clean store all around everything was great the quality pricing cleanliness and to put the icing on the cake the owners are very knowledgeable with the inventory they have. This is the most fun antique shop I have been in in a long time! Julia Selby is the personification of Ophelia herself! She is an elegant mountain woman who visits with every customer as if they are her neighbors. The store has a wonderful collection of antique books for the literary types as well as all the vintage finery of the Victorian woman. The jewelry case if full of antique pieces from several generations and accented with new pieces of the vintage variety! I would recommend this store to anyone visiting the Georgetown/Idaho Springs Valley! read more
