They must have changed the staff in the past 5 years because today we went into the store to look around and were greeted by a very sweet and friendly woman behind the counter. This store has many fun and unique items. The prices seemed reasonable and the selection was broad. If you can't find something that makes you want to pull out your wallet, there is a display case filled with candy that's hard to pass up! We're certain we'll return to shop here again. read more

We really enjoyed this cute lil store! As with most quaint, small town stores, prices are higher than you'd normally see elsewhere for similar items... but then again, you don't get the quaint, small town store experience! We were happy to pay a little more while we laughed, appreciated the store's charming feel, super cute items and even the owner - who was a delight to meet. The shop is much bigger than we expected - it spawned into several small rooms and captivated us with so many clever sayings and one of a kind trinkets. It was a nice surprise to enjoy on our walk to dinner. The cute little candy assortment at the counter was fun to see as well and I wish I had snapped a picture to show you here. Some of the most beautiful, yet extremely overpriced merchandise around. But the big problem is, the dragon who lives behind the counter. The rudest woman I've ever come across with the poorest customer service skills I've ever encountered. And today there were two of her dragon friends. My friend and I were literally yelled at several times because they were resetting for Christmas, and my friend peered through a room and was yelled at. Then they let us look at something and then yelled to us- "OUT". Like we were naughty children. So unimpressed. I cannot believe the store is still in business. read more

I brought my 6 year old granddaughter to Morrison to get lunch and look in the various stores. When we came into the Morrison Mercantile, my granddaughter was totally enamored by the mosaic light fixtures and antique dishes - not so typical for a 6 year old. The woman behind the counter was so very kind. She exuded such a sense of warmth and love to both of us. It was a wonderful experience! read more

Support small business! This is a great boutique on the main drag in Morrison. If you need a gift, or want to splurge on something for yourself, this is the shop for you. They are very friendly, helpful, and will try to order exactly what you need if necessary. During this crazy time, it also feels like a safe place to shop. I'm sorry but while I love the goodies in this store, the owner is terrible at customer service. The last time I was there,she was on the phone the entire time I was in there. Her responses to questions were clipped and rude. It's clear that she can barely tolerate her stupid & bothersome customers. I won't ever shop there again! Had a bad experience several years ago, but returned - stupid me!!! As others have stated, the owner is rude and obviously does not value her customers. I wanted to purchase some tea towels and had even asked if I could since they were in a bin on the porch. Two of the other workers told me I could. When the owner saw what I was buying I was told to put them back. I mentioned my previous experience and said "you will lose sales that way". Her arrogant comment to me was "well $3.95 (they were $4.95) is not a big sale"! Since she didn't think my purchase of 8 towels was big enough, I left the towels where I was standing and walked out the store. Don't bother wasting your time here! read more

The store has beautiful, yet overpriced, merchandise. The biggest problem I have is that the women I've encountered who work there are very rude. I was in the store while they were resetting for fall decor and it wasn't apparent to me that certain rooms were "off limits." My mother and I were reprimanded separately for entering a forbidden room as if we were misbehaved children. I love to support local business, however, I will not be shopping at this store anymore due to incredibly poor customer service. read more

I have visited this store twice now while visiting from California. Very nice items in the store, unfortunately it is extremely overpriced. Also, the woman that owns or works in the store has been extremely unfriendly both times that I have dropped in. Don't touch anything or she is sure to have something to say about it. I've been going to this store for years, as recently as 4/20/13, ironically the day after Lauren wrote her review. I think the prices are what you would expect for a small business that carries items you can't find at the mall. I've never though of the owner as unfriendly, but maybe shy. I hope one person from out of state doesn't talk anyone out of supporting this local business. This store has been around for many years and is part of the fabric of Morrison. I have been a customer for many years. I have always found beautiful merchandise that is just what I was looking for, and many other items that also work for me. I have never walked away empty handed. I especially love the woven overshot coverlet style tablecloths and the stoneware pottery. There are candles that exude a delightful aroma, cards with perfect sentiments, and books that offer great decorating ideas. Very special artificial greenery and flowers have been helpful to me many times. I have loved visiting the "sale building" in the back. read more
