We are so happy with our purchase and experience at Open Road RV in Monticello! This is our first RV purchase and we weren't quite sure what to expect, but everyone at Open Road RV was super in helping us with the process from start to finish. Corrine answered my first phone call inquiring about the RV we were interested in. She gave us a great tour of it when we came in. Corrine and Kelli were great at answering questions too and we felt really comfortable because they are experienced RV owners as well and passionate about the great world of RV camping. Sarah was excellent at helping us with the financial work and making sure we got everything we asked for. She was always available to answer any questions and is very personable. Adam in service was great to work with and made sure any issues were fixed well to brand new standards. When the day came to pick up our RV, Steve was amazing at showing us how everything worked and explained things that were very easy to understand for a novice like me, as well as talking shop to a more experienced guy like my husband. He made it fun as well as informational from the start through making sure everything was hooked up perfectly before we left with our unit. It was such a great experience and everyone seemed to share in our excitement! Buying a coach from this location or company will be your worst mistake in your buying experience. I bought a new Pasadena, paid for it, no follow through from anyone in the dealership until the service manager called and said "This thing is in such bad shape I can't release it" Three weeks later they are replacing walls and other components that should never be replaced in a new coach. The staff here at Open road RV are beyond the best!!! Absolutely no pressure of any kind!! The salesman's Austin was amazing! The finance guy was a hoot, and the service guys Steve ( sorry I don't remember the other guy's name) were just a blast! They all went above and beyond the call of duty from answering our questions, finance was fun, and the walk through was fun! They even put the equalizer hitch on! How we were treated, do you think we've all done business together for years( first time here!) Without any pressure, we found the RV of our dreams! Worst dealership In Monticello, MN. Was purchasing a new fifthwheel at $54995... during the process the price dropped to $52995, they would not honor the lower price nor would they compromise, i was constantly told it was a "mistake". The GM Mike was unreasonable. Along with this issue, they would not honor the 90 day no payments or the $500 parts voucher. After almost 2 weeks of BS, I canceled the entire deal and will take my business elsewhere. Be careful dealing with this place and the GM Mike. read more

I drove 5.5hrs one way to deal with Monticello RV in Monticello, MN, when the same unit was on the lot at Kunes in Green Bay, WI. The reason is $10000. The entire staff is trustworthy, honest, and all-in on every purchase and customer. When I spoke to Blake, Ryan, and the owner Scott at Monticello RV, they said they had a matrix and showed it to me when I arrived after my 5.5hr drive confirming my UTV fit. No other dealer knew this information. It is a key piece of information when buying a toy hauler. What impressed me was Monticello RV had five Rogue 25Vs on the lot, and all were priced less than the same and cheapest model Kunes had on any of their lots. Monticello RV informed me of the price difference on their lot due to the cost when delivered. I was impressed they didn't just raise the prices on all units to the price of the highest one. That is trust and integrity. What I sent to Forest River after my purchase: If all dealers were like the crew at Monticello RV you wouldn't have to worry about issues. They took care of me when your unit had an issue 15 miles down the road. The issue wasn't a dealer problem. It was a manufacturer problem dealing with construction methods and bare minimum standards. Monticello RV took care of the problem even though your unit fell apart no more than 15miles down the road. Give them the opportunity. You will not be disappointed. Go visit the dealers that are across the street and come back to them. You will see the difference in intent and culture. The atmosphere at the dealership is relaxing and makes the buying fun experience enjoyable. I wished I lived closer. I wouldn't have any issues or concerns with my unit and the customer service I would receive from Monticello RV. read more

POSITIVE UPDATE: Monticello RV Center did, eventually, take responsibility for their oversight of asking us what we would like fixed within the travel trailer we purchased and they never tended to them. They ended up buying it back from us/paying off the travel trailer loan directly. They made the situation right even though it should have never happened. I was refunded my $2,000 and they paid off the loan. It took some time and more than necessary communications to the GM, Ryan, but ultimately they followed through with what they promised regarding making us happier. We did, however, have to make one payment on the travel trailer, again, before we even had it in our possession. But we did receive $109 refund from lien holder/lender. We are still out over $200 for the travel trailer that was "never" in our possession. The only employee I "truly" trust there, who of course has to do what management says, is Craig, their Finance Manager as he is always honest, returns your calls and is upfront and follows through with what he says. If you're afforded the opportunity to work with him, do so. But be cautious about the sales, and the owner. Ask questions, assuming you know what questions to ask. The dealership should "always" due their due diligence prior to any sale with the customer's best interest in mind. Again, they made it right for us excluding the monetary fact that we're out over $200 for the entire fiasco. Here's hoping a positive change on "their" end will be (or has been) made. RUN from this place. Our experience has been a complete disaster!!!!! We purchased an expensive park model mobile from these clowns in the summer of 2016. The unit was not used (or at least the furnace) until this April 2017. The furnace failed within 48 hours. We called Monticello RV to have the issue taken care of. Their response was they don't service untils off site and I could bring it in. Keep in mind they delivered it last fall using a large Semi!!! ONLY after I contacted the manufacturer of the unit and the manufacturer called Monticello RV did we get ANY decent response. Monticello would not allow me to drive the 1.5 hour to get the part myself because they said it was a warranty issue. They agreed to bring the circuit board that had failed on the furnace the following Monday. The unit failed on a Thursday. The never showed up on Monday! I had to get the replacement part from the Manufacturer in Indiana! Monticello RV did claim they had tried to send a repairman to fix the problem but nobody called him back and nobody was home. When I challenged this "claim" they gave am old address we no longer lived at. Ironically Monticello RV delivered the unit to begin with. I find it hard to believe they forgot where they delivered it too!!! Once I replaced the furnace circuit board all was good for a week. The furnace failed again. This time Monticello RV refused to return ANY of my several messages. When I finally did reach the service department, Mike said they were going to do NOTHING! I went ballistic and asked to talk to his boss. Dave then got on the phone and said I should call a furnace guy and send the bill to the manufacturer of the furnace. I told him the manufacturer of the Park Model instructed us that Monticello was to do the warranty work. (Again how ironic that they said I couldn't pick the part up do to a warranty issue) They still refused and their exact quote was "we are not going to do anything"! So if you spend $60,000 with Monticello RV all they do is cash your check! The manufacturer of the Park Model is also furious, they are shipping us a new furnace free of charge and helping find a local reputable dealer to help install it. I cannot stress enough run from these people. If Monticello RV is the only option you have to purchase an RV or Park Model. My suggestion would be to get a tent! We had an ok experience buying our camper (air conditioning unit was installed incorrectly, but they fixed it), but had nothing but poor customer service in trying to get them to follow through with anything. They lost our key when we had the camper winterized. They said they would replace it and we had to call repeatedly. They never did replace the key. The point isn't the price of the key, but the fact that they suck in follow through. Further, we brought it in for winterizing/storage and we planned to trade it in. When we brought it in they told us what we could trade it in for, when we picked it up 5 months later, they told us $800 less...They suck. read more
