The Cubano sandwich was superb, The loaf is sliced into lengths of 8-12 inches, lightly buttered ,brushed with olive oil on the crust, and cut in half horizontally. A coat of yellow mustard is spread on the bread. Then sliced roast pork, glazed ham, Swiss cheese, and thinly sliced dill pickles are added in layers. The pork is perfectly marinated and slow roasted. We highly recommended for their delivery service , Open Kitchen Café has been our favorite restaurant in Boca Raton for years and glad we still can order their fresh chef driven foods via online delivery . read more

What a find! This is the first time I've tried this restaurant and am delighted to have found great, healthy food that delivers. I ordered the Coconut Oatmeal Breakfast and added banana, chocolate chips and walnuts. Everything arrived in separate containers (they did not skimp on the portions), sealed and wrapped tightly. I also ordered ordered the strawberry, banana smoothie. They have an option for almond milk, which was perfect since I can't have dairy. The hot food arrived hot and the smoothie arrived cold. Mom and pop restaurants in Boca? Do they have the "Endangered Species" on the door? The one thing I loved in LA was that so many of the crusty strip malls were the birthplace of great chefs with a little money and a lot of passion. Imagine my stunned surprise to find one in Florida's version of plasticland. This is a very wonderful place because chef loves food and everything he does shows it. His adorable little girl is in the crib in the back. His pork tacos are slow cooked, great cuts of meat, no hormones etc. His vegetarian and vegan fare is excellent and he makes smoothies that are not the McJamba nutrition lite variety. His sides are as meticulous as his mains. He doesn't have the staff backstopping him right now so there will be times where if y'all run in there as you do in droves that he may be running a bit slow. I also echo another reviewer's observation that they serve their food (even if you dine in) in styrofoam containers. Normally I like to order from here as all the ingredients are touted as fresh and since it is made to order I can customize a little. However, sometimes when the delivery shows up it can be hit or miss. I just don't think they care. Maybe they do when it is Dine In but if it's a delivery you take your chances. It has happened before but this time the customer service was beyond rude and I won't get delivery from them again. I ordered a Spanish tortilla which came with egg, potatoes, chorizo, caramelized onions and cheese. I asked for no onions at least 4 times because I detest them and this was confirmed. I also ordered some other stuff along with FF. When my order arrived there were no FF but we weren't billed so ok. The bill even showed no onions for my food. Then I opened my Spanish Tortilla. I see a huge egg pancake with ingredients poking out the bottom. I lift the egg and all the ingredients are plastered to the container by the melted cheese...including onions. Not only can I not eat it because of the onions but also because the way it was made and packaged made it almost impossible. So I call and the 1st person I spoke with confirmed my order and apologized then hands the phone to the absolute worst customer service person ever who wanted to argue with me. In the end I told her I would no longer order from them and hung up. Then I drove there to get a refund. When i reiterated that they lost a customer the chef asked me "Should we cry?" then proceeded to argue with me about the onions...I can smell them a mile a way. That's what happens when you dislike an ingredient. You can instantly find it in your food. Then the person I spoke with on the phone starts talking to me and again her attitude was just bad. Cozy and clean restaurant with very kind employees. Extremely affordable! Not noisy like most breakfast places (bagel rest next door). I was very impressed with the food that I received. Also the manager is the owner he was excellent. one of the people that I was with did not get their order correct. It was difficult with the group that we had. everything did eventually work out. And I heard two of the people complain about the quality of the food being too bland. I can't say enough good things about Open Kitchen Cafe! My huge, loud, high-maintenance family was in town from all over the country for my grandma's 93rd birthday this past weekend. When 10 of us showed up at Open Kitchen Cafe for breakfast on Sunday morning, Carlos put his game face on. He was short-staffed that morning because his partner had called in sick, but his lovely wife was helping him out and they made our experience wonderful. (And their daughter is ADORABLE.) The menu is fantastic. My family consists of carnivores, vegans, gluten-free, plant-based, and everything in between. We all found something we could enjoy. I ordered a smoothie (#1 on the menu is amazing) and a create-your-own omelet. All of his ingredients are fresh - he even explained to us how he does all the shopping himself - and you can really taste the difference in the food. Literally every single piece of the meal was made on the spot. You would think that this would take them forever to prepare, but Carlos stayed organized and even managed to get a few of our family members out the door VERY quickly to catch an early flight home. Three unique dishes we tried that I would highly recommend are the oatmeal, the smoothies, and the hash browns. I wish I took photos to share but everything was too delicious not to eat right away! Carlos is an amazing cook. Everything is excellent and they have a ton of choices. I go here at least 3 times a week for lunch. Highly recommend for any type of eater. He has tasty healthy options if that is what you are looking for, but he really does cook anything well. Breakfast burrito, chicken souvlaki, bean burger are some of my favorites. Open Kitchen Cafe has officially become our breakfast place. We have gone almost every Sunday morning for the past several months. We're not sure who enjoys it more - us or our 18 month old daughter who is obsessed with the coconut oatmeal. My husband always gets the Huervos Rancheros and I take turns between the spinach and egg quiche and a breakfast sandwich with bacon and hash browns. You cannot go wrong whatever you choose. Everything is made from scratch with the freshest ingredients. Carlos, the owner, is just the nicest man and his wife has developed such a sweet bond with my daughter. There is nothing fancy about the cafe. It's literally an open kitchen and booths. But the food and the people are the best. And we are proud to be loyal customers. read more

If I could give negatives I would. This place lacks customer service on all levels except the cook as he has no need to talk to anyone. I placed an order for two orders of wings with fries and pasta salad and a grilled chicken caesar salad. I received a caesar salad wrap, one set of wings, three sets of pasta salad and one set of fries. I called them and told them what happened and they were clueless so I talked to someone else and they told me to bring back the incorrect food (so they can resell I assume) and they will give me the right thing. So they give me the correct salad and I was told that I was never charged for the second wing meal even though I confirmed it multiple times with multiple people on the phone. So needless to say I went next door to Jersey Mike and got a delicious sub that did not get messed up nor had any customer service issues. read more

I really liked this place a lot. Inside the place is very plain but the food is great and it really filled me up. I liked there were both Veg options a meat options and that when I walked in they were playing BOB. They also have shakes I did not try them yet but I had my eye on number two. This is for sure a lunch spot but they are open breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The guy that does the cooking (I did not get his name) but he is cool. I told him it was my first time and he answered all the questions I had. The portions were good for what you pay. I got the falafel sandwich which comes with pasta salad. I really liked it a lot.
