Honestly, one of the peaceful accommodations we ever experience. The inn is located along the main road but never bothered by the noise of every passing vehicles. Not sure if because we stayed during after labor day weekend. Our cute little cottage is very homey, it has small fridge, microwave oven and coffee maker. The living space is just perfect for a couple. Cooking is not allowed but a barbecue grill in the compound is provided if interested to prepare one. It is placed in the balcony area next to the hot tub house and dining tables with market umbrellas are available to use by the all guests as well. Soaking in the hot tub was a big help to us after two days of hiking in Acadia. You must try using it when booked in here. Home made muffin and hot coffee is being provided every morning by the owner. Wi-fi connection is very strong. The location is about 10 -15 minutes away from Acadia and Bar Harbor. Close to local dining and shops. Happy to tell you that the inn is happened to be few yards away from two lobster houses.

Staff was friendly, but there's not much more to say after that. We stayed in Cottage #1 and it looked just as small from the outside as it was from the inside. The inn has a long history and you can tell that by the wood paneling. The cottage was very thinly insulated as you could here cars driving by at all hours (I hadn't expected it to be right near the road), airplanes, and the guy in Cottage #2 snoring. There was a huge gap between the door and the keyhole that let in a few mosquitoes during our stay. AT&T cell coverage was pretty limited in the cottage. To top it off, a gal tried to get into our cottage around 11:30 pm the first night, thinking this was Suite #1. Staff had been trying to reach her for hours. It was hard to fall asleep after that. I had been looking at this place for years, but had mainly booked for the fresh muffins, only to find out they had stopped doing them about two months ago. There is a nice bakery across the street and the office does have coffee, oranges, and apples. It is close to Acadia NP and much cheaper compared to other rates in the area. 2021 #83

El check-in/out automático era fácil.

I decided at the very last minute to make a solo trip to Acadia National Park (from Boston) before the rush of the summer season. I booked a room at OHI an hour before I arrived and got a great rate. I was greeted warmly at the front desk and invited back for coffee and muffins in the morning (I never went, but it was a sweet offer - no pun intended). I was also told that there was a Jacuzzi on the property. While I was checking in, someone ran over and turned the lights on in my room so I wouldn't struggle with finding them. As I left the office, I felt that the final "let us know if you need anything" was genuine. My room in the lodge (I use this term loosely, as I believe there are only 4 rooms) was more than enough for me. It was very quaint, but had all of the amenities I was looking for - fridge, coffee maker, plenty of towels, etc. I travel a lot, both personally and professionally, and struggle with getting a good night's sleep on the road. This is the first establishment I've ever stayed in to provide individual desk fans, which is AMAZING. The white noise really helped me. When I first walked into my room, I could hear my neighbors talking, which concerned me. Once the fan was running, I couldn't hear a thing. Previous Yelper comments about planes taking off/landing are accurate. I believe I heard one on Sat. and two on Sunday, all before 8am. I'm an early riser and live near Logan airport, so it didn't bother me. I didn't spend a lot of time in my room, but enjoyed it when I was there. The bed was comfortable and the sheets smelled fresh and clean. My complaints are minimal. There was no Kleenex, which I found odd, albeit not a deal breaker. The towels & soap provided were pretty small, but again, not a deal breaker. The Wi-Fi seemed a little iffy. My biggest complaint was not having an ice machine on the property. It's hard for me to go a day without ice and I wasn't into buying a giant bag at the grocery store just to watch it melt. As far as location, there is a bakery across the street and a gas station/grocery store less than a half a mile away. OHI is ~9 miles from Acadia's Hulls Cove Visitor Center and far enough away from Bar Harbor that nearby nightlife is nonexistent. Disclaimer: I did not go out Sat. night so that's just a general observation. All and all, this was the perfect spot for the purposes of my trip to the park and I would definitely stay here again. It was a relaxing getaway from the everyday norm.

How could you NOT want to stay in this adorable cabin?

This was a nice place to stay in a good location. We enjoyed having a kitchen and rest of the house to use. We had a pleasant stay.

Great little place with individual cottages. We enjoyed our stay. The hot tub was enjoyable at night and the beds were cozy.

Michael, one of the owners was ready to give us suggestions for food, hikes + even places to catch great sunrise pictures. Also, make sure you check out their photography for sale in the lobby, it makes an awesome gift or memoir from your trip! Isleview is a quaint, clean little place - nothing super fancy, but has great Maine charm. It was perfect for a trip to visit Acadia + Bar Harbor. Our room had a strip of USB plug ins on each side of the bed for being able to charge all our devices. The bathroom was clean + the shower was hot. The bed/pillows were comfy with crisp fresh white sheets + a cozy soft blanket when it got cool. There was delicious bar harbor tea/coffee/fresh fruit/breakfast bars/hot chocolate in the lobby + a water cooler to fill up your water bottles each day. We will absolutely be back to visit + thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We are talking about getting a group of us to each rent out our own little cottage here next time. Isleview will be our home base every time we visit! Thanks for an awesome stay!

Michael was extremely helpful and offered a lot of advice about Acadia and the surrounding area. He gave us a list of local food options, guidance on how to get a pass for the park online (even printing it for us), and told us where we could find a detailed map with all the carriage roads and trails. He was also very attentive and eager to help out in anyway possible. The cottage was cozy and clean. The AC worked well, the ceiling fan was quiet and helped me sleep, the bathroom maintained a hot water temperature for two showers in a row and we never noticed any issues with it running out. Though we kept the "do not disturb" sign hung and never used the cleaning services we saw the staff with their cart with all the supplies each morning and it was clear they maintained tidiness. Beyond just the room Michael and Sabrina had added a lot of really thoughtful touches. There were two gas grills each with their own metal picnic tables, citronella candles, and grilling utensils. We took advantage of them and grilled some hot dogs one of the nights. There was cornhole, a doggy clean up station, and even a very nice fire pit set back in the woods. We never lit a fire, but we did stare gaze back there and saw shooting stars and an extremely clear sky. I saw some reviews mention that the cottages aren't that close to any of the bigger towns. This is true, but I saw that as a benefit. Bar Harbor is mad house during the day and Ellsworth is further from the park. And neither of them can offer the same level of solitude as this little spot in Trenton, ME right outside of Mount Desert Island. It's very easy to get into the park or anywhere you like on the island. The loop bus even stops nearby. I don't have a single complaint about Isleview. It was a great place to stay and much more affordable than similar places just a short drive away.

David made us very welcome when we arrived and gave us the orientation talk on the island, giving us a couple of local newspapers and marking down worthwhile sights on the maps before showing us to our 'cottage'. I'd actually describe the cottage as more of a beach hut (we had one of the smaller ones), but it had everything in it and was only a few yards from the water's edge with great views over Salisbury Cove. There was a porch with chairs and table where you could sit and watch the sunset. Very pleasant. Inside, the cottage was scrupulously clean, there is a small kitchen area with stove and coffee maker etc. if you wanted to eat in. It could have done with an electric kettle to make tea with, although you could use the coffee maker to boil water I guess. There's a small heater in the wall that we used a few times as we had a couple of rainy days during our stay. Best of all was the shower - great water pressure and piping hot. A great start to the morning. Followed by a cup of complementary coffee from reception, we were all set to go and explore. So thanks to David and Jayne - we really enjoyed our few days here and would gladly return in future.
