Overheard a girl tell the front desk that a nail tech was pretending to sterilize the tools. I actually also noticed it, but hadn't realized what it was until she mentioned it. I brought my daughter here for a mother daughter pampering day before a wedding. I haven't had acrylic nails in almost 20 years. I thought, "Why not?! It will be nice to have nails again." I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only can they not understand you, but they kept having to pull another tech away from his customer to explain things to me because I didn't know what their nail packages meant. He did my fingernails in 40 minutes flat. Too quick, in my opinion. I asked him to shape them more and to file them down more. He did and they still look like crap. The pedicure was great and our toes look good. My daughter had gel polish and the whole polished nail started falling off 3 days later! We paid $150 plus we left a $30 tip! RIDICULOUS! BEWARE!!! My daughter went in to get her nails done and they removed them by ripping them off and continued even though my daughter said it hurt. Then they glued the new nails to her skin then the acrylic was touching her skin and told them it burnt. The guy ignored her and continued. She was afraid to tell them the nails looked like crap because they ignored her and basically she felt intimidated by them. They are so good, I recently moved to the area and a waitress at blue moose recommended here. I have gone several times for my nails and a pedicure and never really had any issues. There was one mix up where I called in for an appointment but when I showed up I wasn't on the book so I didn't get my nails done with who I wanted but service didnt lack because of it. this has always been my go to nail place until now. ive had several issues the last few times i came such as one of the guys literally ripping half my nail off and in the same visit ripping my nail into the quick. but i decided to give them one last chance and obviously this has been a mistake. so i make an appointment with tristan for 4:30 and i get there at 4:20 to find that he has someone is his chair and they dont finish until 4:45 , already 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment . then, just as soon and he starts drilling my nails, he just gets up and starts doing some other ladies nails because i guess thats more important? anyways i will never be coming here again after this costumer service. read more

A friend of mine & our daughters wanted to get our toes done together. I called the day before & secured an appointment time. When we arrived, they huffed acting like they didn't have time. I showed them in my phone where I had called. They were able to seat us all side by side so that was nice. But they rushed thru our pedicures with all 5 of us being finished in about 45 minutes. I could've done a better job doing it myself at home. I was there on Friday the 26th at two in the afternoon. There are plenty of other options folks so please look around! Took my bridal party to OP for wedding day nails and toes. Unfortunately, they completely butchered the bride's nails and were unwilling to fix it both in price or design. Customer service was below par, most employees don't speak to you or ask you clarifying questions to be sure the design or nail shape is correct. I will never go back! read more

Can't relate to any of the less than stellar reviews for this place...... All I can say is EVERY visit of mine has been pleasant. Very clean place, staff have always been friendly and attentive, and service is amongst the best in the area. Sure, I only come here for pedicures (I'm a guy, so fullsets and gel nails aren't my thing).... but like I said, it's always been awesome!! Prices are very reasonable, and I really like how the pedicure area is partitioned from the nails area. They play good music too and volume is just right. read more

Do not go here. My daughter and I went- I got a plain gel manicure, she got tips. This place was filthy. Should have trusted my gut and walked out. Rusted equipment. Work done so quickly and carelessly. My daughter's cuticles were bleeding because the tech kept cutting her. He literally just wiped the blood off with his bare hand. My manicure was awful. Lumpy, uneven application. Her tips looked like press on nails from the 80s. Fast forward to going to a different salon to get them removed. New place has a lot of trouble removing the tips only to realize that this place has likely used mma for application on her tips.She had so much mail damage due to this place. The woman didn't even speak until she asked about color, was very rough at the beginning pushing back cuticles, the sides of my toes are still rough and polish was left there and my pedicure looks like I got about a $10 deal instead of $50. I went today to get my birthday nails done and was extremely disappointed. My pedicure was fine but while I was getting a full set of acrylics the guy was cutting me over and over with the drill and I was literally bleeding. I was a little hesitant to go here because of the mixed reviews. I decided to try it out anyways, and it was great. I went in with no appoint. They were pretty busy, yet someone immediately started working on my nails as soon as I walked through the door. She was quick and efficient. She did not talk at all, which was a little awkward, but she did a great job on my nails. I was in and my out in about 35 minutes. Pricing was also great. Update from last year's review. I have continued to go to this salon every month for close to a year now. Every time I go in, someone greets me immediately and gives me a time estimate for how long i will wait. Lately, Vinh has been doing my regular acrylic with gel polish routine and they turned out as well as the first time I went last year. I left last years pictures in comparison. 2019 was the gray and 2020 is the forgotten pink. it's always a stress reliever and I leave happier than ever. read more

I would not recommend. I asked for French nail gel polish. Nail tech started to use dremel drill on my natural nail and I asked him not to. He then used file block so roughly it cut 2 of my fingers. I should have asked for another tech at that point but didn't and got a sloppy uneven gel polish. The supplies are worn and everything looked dirty. I will not go back. read more

A friend and I went to get shellac done for my birthday. Exactly 1 week later and the shellac on one of my nails has chipped off. And now my nails are ruined because they used a drill to rough up the surface instead of just a file like is supposed to be done for shellac. I called because I am not local to Johnson City and was basically told they wouldn't take my word for what happened and that nothing could be done. I been going to Opi Nails for a long time now and have never had a problem. I get a mani-pedi with regular nail polish. I don't do acrylic or shellac. I looked the facilities over carefully and found it clean. They used sterilized tools and new files. I will continue to go there. read more

My girlfriend and I went out on Valentine's Day to get her nails done and customer service was nice. They were just so rough and not gentle at all while doing her nails. She had the tips of her fingers bleeding which upset us both. Her fingers are throbbing afterwords and we were very mad about this. When I confronted them afterwords about it we were met with rudeness. The nails do not feel stable nor are they painted all the way. I would never recommend this to anyone. read more

I have had my nails done at OP for years. The last two times the service was absolutely horrible. Will find a new place to go.

The service people were SO RUDE, told us it would be one price ($15) when we said what we wanted (just gel polish) and then charged us $18 at the counter afterwards. The guy who did my sister's nails kept tugging and twisting her hands and fingers and didn't even want to do all the steps correctly or fully (like mine were done.) When she asked for the same thing (cuticle oil, a second layer of paint, they started foreign chatting back and forth, plainly looking at us and complaining. He kept drilling over my cuticles and even my fingers, I did not say anything. After I left I noticed that he had not covered areas closer to my cuticles. I used to go here all the time and get my nails done, didn't have any problems. Made an appointment for today @ 3:00. Got there was told to have a seat at the nail bar. 3:40 and still no service. Not even a "I am sorry that you are having to wait", "we will be with you shortly". No one said anything and there were several people that walked in behind me that were asked if they had appointments and they replied "No" and they were seated immediately and started having their nails done.
