    On January 5, 2026, 9:48pm, I placed a cake request on B's Sweet Treats & More LLC website. I…read morerequested it to be done January 9th. I get no phone calls, no emails, and no text messages all throughout that week. I called Friday morning, January 9, around 10:50 AM. I ask about the cake I requested on their website Tuesday, she asks if I've gotten any messages, I reply no for that is the reason as to why I am calling. The gal that answered the phone tells me that they don't take online orders, you have to call or come in person. I make the same cake order through her. I mention to her that I apologize for the inconvenience, but can you please get this cake done either today (January 9), or Saturday, January 10. She mentions that they have a lot of cake orders but she will call me later today if they can get it done on Friday if I do not get a call back then it will be ready Saturday afternoon, which is their usual times for cake pick ups. I waited all day Saturday, I didn't get a call. I tried calling them at 5pm, but all I got was that there was no voicemail box set up. B's Sweet Treats is closed Sunday and Monday, I needed the cake for a birthday that was on Monday, January 12th. Note that with the online order from their website, you have a $20 deposit and it says no refunds. Tuesday, January 13, around 10:30 am I go into B's Sweet Treats to ask if they take orders on their website. The gentleman that greeted me said that that they do take online orders, I told him about the phone call on Friday with a different employee, he replied with that she was new and unaware that they receive online orders. He mentioned that they had cake orders but not so much that they wouldn't take in any orders when I called Friday. I told him that I'm not worried about the $20, I just wanted a better understanding because I really would like something from them due to such good reviews. He replies with that the $20 is completely refundable. We continued talking and I explained the situation of what happened earlier that week, he apologized then offered to instead of the $20 refund, he'd give me a six pack/count of cupcakes for FREE . He later says to message him on their Facebook page and that they will be ready around 3pm. I offered my phone number, he said no just message me on the Facebook page. During that interaction, he didn't ask my name or any personal information to identify the person messaging them, I tried my best hoping that he would recognize the situation and understand that it was me. I message their Facebook page at 11:20 AM that same day (Tuesday, January 13), about 30 minutes after I went in and talked to him; "Hi, this is Ashley. I was just in there regarding my mom's birthday cake, I really appreciate you understanding and helping!" I get no reply. I later send a message at 4PM (that same day, an hour later than when he said the cupcakes would be ready by), asking "Are the cupcakes ready for pick up?" The next day, (Today, January 14) I get a response at 9:42 AM, "Hi, please refresh my memory on what cupcakes? I'm sorry I don't see a slip". I go into the B's Sweet Treats at 11:34 AM for my $20 refund. I walk in, the gentleman greets me, the same one that I talked to yesterday (Tuesday, January 13), "Are you here for your cupcakes?" I reply with no because I did not get a response until this morning. I would like my $20 back. Then goes, "oh that was you." He was very polite and very cooperative. I really appreciate the refund even though it says on the website that they do not refund the $20 deposit. I am thoroughly frustrated of this interaction with this business. I appreciate their cooperation and their understanding but the fact that they did not follow through with their request and what they have told me is the most disappointing factor to me, especially as a business owner myself and having worked in customer service as well. Especially with me essentially making two cake orders, I don't get any calls back or updates about them. I'm really disappointed because I see such great reviews about their cupcakes, cakes, etc, and their service. Maybe I could have been more proactive about calling and making sure they had/could do my order, but as a business, I shouldn't have to, the communication just wasn't great for my experience. I hope others have a better experience or that they improve on their communication.
