This place is small and a simple concept. It's a small shop in Old Town that sells Mexican onyx and a bit of jewlery. Some things you'd have found in Tijuana, like chess boards and some that you wish you'd found in Tj! (see the pic of the wine holder) The turtle from here sits where my Grandmother can see it everyday. You'll find either the owner (name escapes me) or Jess there. Jess is perhaps the nicest guy in the world. Love him. He's patient and kind. The owner is nice too in his own way. He's not a fan of technology and would rather not be on Yelp, rather not take phone calls and can be a bit, um..., Well.. Anyway. Moving on! Check out the cool painted ceiling too. I liked it.

    Lamp unlit.

Absolutely beautiful onyx lamps! The lamps have both a modern and traditional feel to them. Visited while better half in a conference. Came back a couple of days later intent on getting a lamp. Owner was very forthright in stating they are not good as a reading lamp but more for general lighting. But we really liked it and bought it. Worked out much better than expected because there is track lighting in the TV room, just not behind my chair. Great buy.

Being all the way from Seattle, I just couldn't pass up this rare, blue vein lamp I got at Onyx Expressions.

While strolling around Old Town, the lamps in this shop really caught my eye.

So often, Sireesha just couldn't stomach our collective dysfunctional fashion faux pas; she'd be driving along and see somebody, and suddenly she'd hit the brakes and be like, "Howie, that's just wrong. She's wearing a pant suit. And f@cking Birkenstocks. I'm going to do it, Howie, I'm going to get a f@cking van, and f@cking grab these people off the street and give them better clothes and give them a f@cking clue." I kind of feel like Tess Coats, the tinker and thinker behind this spectacular Airstream mobile boutique, is passing silent judgement on this city, as well. It's not enough that she thinks our taste in home decor, cosmetics and accessories are something of an embarrassment, no, she obviously thinks she needs to forcibly do something about it. She's going to drive the f@cking store to your f@cking park or coffee shop or show, whatever. She wants you to buy really incredible locally-made stuff and get with the program, already. I'll stipulate that I've yet to buy anything from this immaculate silver bullet, y'know, I'm still trying to figure out how to simultaneously sport socks and flip-flops, but in the meantime, I'm really glad Tess is in this town. Definitely peruse the goods, and dig the interior design work. I love this concept, she's really good people, and Spectacle Caravan is super AlbuQuirky. Thanks for bringing some style to our streets.
