After inspection, Omar provided me with a quote to fix the issue which required replacing both the springs, fixing some broken hinges and rollers. I had another company provide me the quote and they tacked on more items than were needed. So I appreciated that I wasn't oversold on any parts or services. Omar came two days later on time and installed everything as expected. I discovered that my manual lock on the garage door was not aligned anymore and reached out to them. These guys are crooks and take advantage of any opportunity to overcharge their customers. We paid $1287 (a reasonable price) for Ontime to install a new garage door opener in our San Francisco home in February 2025. Exactly a year later (to the day), the garage wouldn't open so we called them back to service their work. They claimed that the door was not covered under their warranty and quoted us $750 to "balance and align" the door. We expected this to take several hours and were surprised to see them finish in 15 minutes. They clearly took advantage of the situation (non-operable door). Steer clear of these guys. Just as I was about to head out on Saturday morning, I noticed my garage door wasn't working, turns out the spring had snapped and the cable was loose. I called Ontime (used them once before and was happy), and Saad picked up right away. He was super responsive and scheduled a technician, Omar, to come out the same day between 12-1 PM. Looks disheveled, probably not certified in anything without any tools or any replacement parts. He walked around and without any detail details said that I have to pay a few hundred more dollars for extra work, not not covered by my home insurance without explanation or any detailed written quote why this work needs to be done.
