I called today 12/20 to have them change my due date for my loan, as I was told when I got my loan that I could change it with no problem after my first payment went through. I called and Katrina answered the phone, first of all she has extremely poor phone etiquette along with being really rude over the phone. She made me feel belittled because I wanted to change my due date, the way she was asking me certain questions was just wrong. Not only that but she wouldn't let me speak, she kept speaking over me and raising her voice I had to tell her to stop speaking over me and to let me talk. I ended up not changing my due date and hung up the phone because the way she kept speaking to me was unprofessional. Your job is to help people not make them feel less than. What a mess. First applied through office and never responded. Called 800 number and restarted. Was told I was fine for a 4k loan. Then no response for 5 days. I call multiple times and promised a call back and never receive a call. Finally, someone says that they would like a co-signer despite me telling them that was not something I wanted to do. They told me a co-signer would get me more money; however, was not interested in that. Now, they tell me it won't work after 5 days of me calling them. Never again. read more

I ended up going elsewhere and getting a better loan without sacrificing the car. After they offered the loan they kept sending me "offers" in the mail and kept calling me. I would give zero starts if possible. worst loan company I have ever had the chance to deal with. I was pre approved for a personal loan through credit karma with outstanding approval odd. Now I am no dummy I knew at the time I had bad credit and my debt to income ratios were also poor but I was given outstanding approval odds and usually I have never seen those odds for approval most offers I get say poor or fair approval odd. I proceeded with the offer and got instantly approved. I uploaded all required information for the loan and everything was accepted at that point again. This company knew my entire credit history and car loan information at this point and I was approved again. Then I get a final approval phone call from this bank to verify all my information to be true. I get put on hold with the bank to see what options I had for loan dollar amount and interest. Then the lady Jamela gets back on the phone with me to tell me they won't be able to actually offer me a loan in any way because my car loan which was going to be used as collateral was too high in regards to the balance owed on loan versus car value itself. I was flabbergasted as the bank had all my information about my car details and loan details when they ran my credit and they still accepted me to basically string me along and deny me at the last hurdle of underwriting. The most discusting misleading company I have ever worked wit. I would have had no problem with the hard hit on my credit with a denial attached to it. To accept someone after the credit check and string them along is just appalling. I had the pleasure of applying for and closing the loan with Jasmin, who was very nice, informative, and patient with me. Jasmin is very familiar with the loan process, and I was able to do all the paperwork via computer at home while on the phone with Jasmin. It's definitely not the cheapest way to borrow money, but Jasmin presented several loan options, some secured and some unsecured, and Jasmin was up front about the costs associated with each option. I told the lady I would figure it out and hung up! They had the nerve to call me the next day asking me to make a payment when my payment is not due for another 10'days!!! I do not recommend them! This place just helped my boyfriend and I who were DROWNING in bills catch up and get back on our feet. We were able to refinance our truck and get a cash loan for only 1% more APR than we were already paying. My boyfriends credit isn't good and they were able to get him a loan and even get me taken off of it when originally I had to cosign. We are so happy and the optional insurance packages to add are super convenient. Thank you SO much Damari you're amazing and your attitude is so uplifting! 10000x THANK YOU for getting him approved, I know it was a long shot. In short, if you're in a tight spot and need a loan and have some sort of collateral (and have intention of actually paying your lien holder back), OneMain is totally worth a try! So I called on the 28th to make a payment over the phone I was not going to be able to go into the office this time. When I called I spoke with a lady and she charged my card 2 times. One payment for $315 plus with included a late fee and another payment for $305 plus which forgot to mention that she was charging my card twice. I am about to pay my rent one 3/05 and noticed that I am $300 short so I check my account and sure there was 2 charges from One Main Financial. I call and I speak with Stephanie and I told her what happened so she then puts me on hold and says yes u called and made two payments and I was like no... I called to make that one time $315 plus payment because I was not going to be able to make payment in the office. But I never authorized for the second payment of $315 plus. So she says ok I'm sorry we will need you bank account statement so I provide everything and she assured me that the money will be refunded into my bank account and that she will call me back the next day. I call the next day to get an update and of course Stephanie is not there so I told the other lady that answered the phone briefly why I was calling for to get an update and she says oh yes I see here in the notes that we will refund you but a check will be overnighted so you will get it either tomorrow Saturday or Monday the latest. So I asked again are u sure that a refund won't be placed into my account because Stephanie said and she goes on on how company policy is to issue a check and that it would be overnighted. I said ok so tomorrow I will get a check right and she said well don't quote me on that it will be either tomorrow Saturday or no later than Monday. Then Monday comes alone and no check so I call Stephanie to get an update and says oh yes I see my notes here let me call that department that takes care of refunds and I will call you back so I told her that I was working to please email me back and she agreed. She then tries to call me but of course I didn't answer because I was at work and specifically asked to be emailed for that same reason. She then sends me this email: Hi, PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW!!!! I called to follow up and they advised it takes 3 business days. They estimated you will be refunded if not by today, tomorrow. Also, it will refunded directly to your bank acct. Thank you, Stephanie Soto Sr. Personal Loan Specialist This email was sent to me on Monday 3/09 morning... so I check my bank account at about 11:30am (Tuesday 3/10) and of course no money there so instead of calling the branch I called there customer number (800) number and I was helped by John who explained to me that a ticket was opened on 3/05 requesting a refund and that it takes about 2-3 business days for that ticket to be looked at (processed). Then they will issue me a check that will most likely go out via mail on Friday 3/13 and that it would take 3-5 business days for that check to reach me and I was going to make a payment on 3/19. So I told how is it so easy for you people to take money from our account so fast but so hard for you guys to put money back. So then I asked John so no refund into my bank account and he said no unfortunately no it's not possible due to company policy. I told John just apply that $305 plus payment to this month. No point of get that check now since I won't get it until next week when I was going to make that payment. I have to pay $75 in late fees for paying my rent late due to the incompetence for the people that work at the branch in escondido. John then said ok so your next payment is not due until April. At least John was straight forward with me and told me the truth and I truly appreciate it. Sad but true how people can't just be straight up with you and have to lie. (When I called to make the $315 plus payment they could have advised that I was making 2 payments if that would have been the case because Stephanie had asked the girl that took my payment and she claimed that I had scheduled for a payment to be taken out on 2/28 using my card on file and of course that was a lie). read more

Horrible customer service. So my fiancé fell behind in some bills while I was deployed. (It seem that she had asked for a loan years ago and paid it off with in months at this same location). Anthony Romero the "branch manager" seem to be professional at first. She mentioned to me that this second time around Anthony Romero, made her feel very uncomfortable. He broke confidentiality talking bad about his clients with full on name regarding how they would be late on payment and how hispanics were the worst. (No duh people ask for loans because they can't keep up with their payment.) I was so upset when I heard this. If would of known sooner that's she needed cash I would of just given it to her. Completely awful customer service. Anthony (the branch manager) was initially helping me, and he was patient and enjoyable. I didn't really need the money but I did enjoy the idea of a debt consolidation loan information I received in the mail. I did not get a phone call back in regards to my loan, but when I called in to check on the status, this awful toned woman answered, and in the very beginning of the call she even cut me off. She later crosses even more boundaries. She was literally telling me how I should live my life as if that's what I had any interest in. All I wanted was more information on the loan standards or possibly a separate company that I could apply to- NOT how I SHOULD be living. I cannot explain how insulted I felt over the phone. Though I was told that cancelling my application would hurt my credit, I am glad I cancelled it. The girl that I spoke to was so rude! I had applied online to try and get some money to go towards our wedding. After reviewing my information, the representative told me my income was too low, I needed someone to cosign and she wasn't sure If I would even get approved. She told me to send her my pay stubs and W2 but I told her I didn't think it would matter if I sent them or not because she was already telling me I probably wouldn't get approved. She replied with "Just send it to me and let me be the judge of that!" I was hesitant and she told me "You only have about three months until your wedding, Is this wedding really even going to happen???" SHE CROSSED THE LINE by going into my personal needs for the loan! What kind of professional talks to a customer that way! I said "Yes IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!..You know what just cancel the application!" Though I was angry about the experience I had, I am so relieved that I didn't get involved with this company! This is the worst establishment ever. You would be better off getting a loan from a loan shark. A friend of mine needed some money. He asked if I could get a loan for him here and he would pay it. He paid it but as I received the bills I noticed the payoff amount wasn't going down. The loan was more than a year old and the payoff was still in the same range as the original loan. I made a double payment one month and the institution acted like it was regular payment applying the interest as a regular payment. The lady tried to tell me I should wait till after the first payment is done than the make a payment. I went in to talk with someone. The gentlemen there tried to tell me he left Wells Fargo because this was a better opportunity. He tried to explain that he drove from San Diego to Escondido because this institution was better than Wells Fargo. As I listened to him try to explain to me on how a simple interest loan is handled by them I realized he more than likely was let go by Wells Fargo. He did everything he could to stay away from the fact that with OneMain you get charged interest everyday, including weekends for having a loan. So even though I paid into this loan and would not have a payment until January of 2017 I was still going to be charged for each day of the loan. I finally told my friend I would pay it off and he could just pay me back. I asked for the balance and when the lady gave it to me I started to write the check. I told her I was paying it off. She stopped me and came back with a different amount of 200.00 more. I asked why? Again she said I was paying on the interest of the days that had past. As I stood there waiting for them to process my receipt I noticed that there is no privacy as they conduct business over the phone. I was listening to a worker repeating someone information. I knew where they worked, lived, how much they made and if I stayed a little longer I would have known their bank information. I thought of going to the people's house to warn them. The address was not to far from where lived. I also noticed that this OneMain prey on Mexican, not Mexican American, but non-english speaking Mexican. I am going to have a lawyer look over the payment history and the BBB look into this particular OneMain. Something does not seem right. I did notice that the employee turn over rate was high. Overtime I went in there was a different group of employees. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONEMAIN FINANCIAL!!!! Never give your information to them over the phone. read more
