It was cracked at the top and covered in scratches. I pulled over to inspect the work further and noticed a large gap between the windshield and the plastic trim. The windshield had not been properly sealed or glued into place. I immediately returned to the store and showed the manager the issues. He seemed surprised, which was concerning. I don't understand how a manager would allow a vehicle to leave the premises without inspecting the completed work. More importantly, if there had been a problem during the repair, it should have been disclosed to me before I paid for a job that was clearly not completed correctly. This experience feels dishonest and has left me wondering if there may be additional damage to my vehicle that I have not yet discovered. The manager said he would order a replacement rearview mirror and correct the installation issues, but now I'm left waiting even longer to have my car properly repaired. After spending four hours there and leaving with more damage than when I arrived, I cannot recommend Safelite based on my experience. To make matters worse, I had to call customer service myself to find out that they cannot locate replacement parts for the damage they caused. The manager never contacted me to provide an update or explain the situation. In addition to damaging my rearview mirror, the technicians did not put the wiring back the way it was originally installed and left wires hanging out. They also left a large gap between the windshield and the exterior plastic trim at the bottom of the windshield. This gap can collect debris and water and raises concerns about the quality and safety of the installation. My Audi TT is a well-maintained, garage-kept vehicle that is only driven occasionally and has been carefully cared for. I trusted Safelite with my car and paid for a professional repair. Instead, I left with a damaged vehicle, an improperly installed windshield, and no clear resolution. I am extremely upset and disappointed that I paid for a service that left my car in worse condition than when I brought it in.
