She has a very soothing & gently method which I really appreciate, but she also is very adept at dealing with difficult blemishes without a lot of pain (something that I have struggled with at other spas). CONS: appointment availability is limited (I usually have to book 1-2 months in advance and can rarely get all my areas done at once). One time, they canceled my appointment without notifying me, so I showed up, didn't get treated, and had to wait even longer after already waiting 2 months. (I currently get underarms, areolas, navel, Brazilian, and upper and lower legs treated.) ABOUT MILAN IN GENERAL I started going to Milan in 2023 and overall, I'm very happy with them! I started with Brazilian, underarms, and lower legs and have since added navel (happy trail), areolas, and upper legs. There's a lot I can say (mostly good things!), so I'll use bullet points to make it easier to read. LIKES QUALITY OF SERVICE: The people operating the laser are at least an RN. This was a selling point because you can trust that the person holding a laser to your hoo-ha has a medical background. I don't know about you, but that puts me at ease. EQUIPMENT: When you purchase a treatment area, you can access any Milan location nationwide. I've visited several locations around Chicago, Denver, and Milwaukee, and they're all similarly set up. They're clean and stocked with pre- and post-laser products (razors, spray deodorant, aloe, alcohol swabs, etc.). I'm a brown-skinned Black girl with black, coarse hair, and their laser has a YAG setting that works best for my hair type. This brings me to my next point... REDUCTION IN HAIR GROWTH: Initially, you go every 5 weeks. As hair growth slows, appointments spread out until an area "graduates," meaning you only need touch-ups every few months to a year, depending on the area. My lower legs and navel (happy trail) had significant hair reduction and "graduated" within 1-1.5 years. I now only get them touched up annually. I've had my underarms and Brazilian treated for 3 years and still need touch-ups every 3 months or so. It's disappointing they haven't "graduated," but my hair is stubborn, so it's more of a me thing than Milan's fault. Regardless, laser every 3 months is WAY better than shaving or waxing every 2 weeks to a month, and my hair is much finer now. This is why the unlimited package is so useful! I recently started treating my areolas and upper legs. I have minimal, fine hair in those areas, so I'm hopeful they'll "graduate" within the next year and only need annual touch-ups. UNLIMITED TREATMENTS: This is probably Milan's biggest selling point for me. Knowing I'm still getting treatments 3 years later, I'm glad I have unlimited sessions! I can get touch-ups whenever needed without paying extra. This is unlike Laser Away, where you can only purchase a set number of sessions. STAFF: Everyone I've met at Milan, from receptionists to laser operators, has been super sweet and personable. DISLIKES APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY: In 2023, appointments seemed easier to get. Now, I find it difficult to get one even 1-2 weeks out and usually have to book 1-2 MONTHS in advance. If you need a last-minute touch-up, you may have to prioritize 1-2 areas or wait longer to get everything treated in one appointment. HELPFUL INFO PRICING: In March 2023, I paid what now seems like an astronomical amount for Brazilian, underarms, and lower legs ($8,200). They offered 0% financing for a 3-year plan, which was a decent trade-off, but they no longer offer 0% financing. Treatment areas have generally gotten cheaper over the years, and Milan frequently runs deals. In November 2025, I paid $1,190 for upper legs and areolas. I can't remember exactly what I paid for my navel, but it was under $1,000. Overall, I've spent around $10k on underarms, areolas, navel, Brazilian, and upper and lower legs. Even with their deals, Milan is significantly more expensive than places like Laser Away. However, I think it's worth the money because Milan offers higher-quality service, more sophisticated laser technology, and unlimited treatments, whereas other places offer a limited number of sessions. If I had to do it again, I'd still choose Milan, mainly because of the unlimited treatment package and YAG laser.
