Unfortunately it had an overwhelming amount of tough chewy squid in the pancake without a single shrimp in site. And it dominated the pancake and wasn't binding together well, so I began avoiding those chunks and the remainder of the pancake was good. We also had Bulgogi in both hot plate and hot pot styles (since I'd never tried the latter). Both were nicely and identically flavored, with the hot pot in a sweeter broth with glass noodles. The banchan had excellent variety and the meal portions were good and we took home leftovers. Service was attentive and drink refills were prompt. Seating was comfortable and they did ask us to move to a different table after being seated. This was as a kindness since the adjacent table was a BBQ table and being fired up for a party and they didn't want us to suffer from the initial smoke.

Note that we had to ask for some "hot sauc" to generate some extra spice...I put quotes because it was a bit sweet - but still offered sufficient flavor. Service was friendly and straightforward - answering our questions and providing some side items as requested. It seems like they are labor constrained, but they definitely made it work.

We got seated right away on a Friday night around the large conveyor belt of sushi and sides. We totally missed that there was a QR code on the table to place orders there so we otherwise ordered with our waitress and grabbed what we could off of the belt. Unfortunately, it would take some time to replenish the belt so we found ourselves asking the waitress for multiple dishes in the meantime. We ordered a variety of proteins but found the steak bulgolgi and signature steak to be the better choices. The others were a little bland or off putting. Almost everything burnt onto the grill right away but staff were on top of changing it out frequently. Overall, we had an okay experience. The staff was great but the quality of food could was middle tier. Atmosphere was otherwise chill but someone was definitely in their feelings because all they played was Rihanna, which I didn't mind.

They had a deal for $5 for 5 sides where you could get a whole trayful of tteokbokki and a good deal on their "Seoul bowl" which was a meat, 2 dumplings and a side. I understand that the economy has changed a lot in the recent years so they could not maintain their prices. However, I found that the quality of food was also declining while prices continued to rise. This last time I visited, I got the kimbap and bowl (pork bulgogi and japchae). This was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had. The kimball was falling apart, so much that it was difficult to eat. When you went to take a bite, all of the contents fell out. The bulgogi and dumplings were fine but the japchae was very bad. Like I said, I've been coming here for years and I have *never* seen the japchae look like this. It was dark and chewy like rubber. It was so bad that I couldn't even finish half of the side before I called it quits. I did reach out to the restaurant soon after and they were very apologetic and offered a refund. I am just disappointed that one of my favorite restaurants is changing so much. Additionally, they updated the menu recently and took off some items that I previously enjoyed (like the potato tornado). Most of all, I am disappointed in the tteokbokki deal. It is now $2.50 for 4 rice cakes (you can count them in the container). And I am also sad that the japchae wasn't good as this was my go-to place for Korean japchae cravings.
