Then insisted on charging full price for the shirt that was an easy job some coffee on my fav button down - they'd carelessly ironed a light cofee stain in . First they couldn't find my things . The man who took my things didn't remember me or that he'd been the one who'd taken my things . I asked if they could possible give me a break on the price especially considering they'd ruined a favorite shirt. He said that was not their policy. I calmly let them know I would not be using them again. They couldn't have cared less. The damage was repaired well but he forgot the suspender button for the trousers. I didn't check the trousers when I picked up the suit, which is my fault I suppose. But when I went back to get the button put on the trousers, he wanted to charge me again. He wouldn't come to any compromise which in my book is bad business. He has lost a customer and I won't go back there.

I've ended up bringing my grandmother's needlepoint pillow that had missing stitches, two family quilts *loved* to death by generations, and an antique beaded purse that I found at a yard sale and needed a lot of help. I plan on giving the purse to my daughter to hopefully start a new family tradition. All were cleaned (they have a woman who cleans fragile antique textiles specially) and then beautifully repaired and restored. I shopped around at other rug cleaners and they're all in the same general price bracket. Russell's offered a 20% discount if I brought the rugs in instead of having them pick up. I also found there's no one else who can repair this variety of heirlooms, and with such old fashioned attention to detail. Highly recommend.

Long post alert! I…read morewent to take my birthday pictures today and decided on a laundromat concept. After searching on Yelp for the most aesthetic laundromat in New Orleans, Holy Sheets came up as #1...and once I saw the photos, I already knew this was the one. The floors alone sold me! I also had an oversized blanket to wash, so I figured I could kill two birds with one stone. When I arrived, I sat and waited for my photographer, then went to ask a staff member a question about starting my wash. That's when she let me know photos weren't allowed, but she offered to check with the owner. A few minutes later, he arrived (I hate that I can't remember his name), greeted customers, and then came over to speak with me. I explained it was for my birthday shoot, and he kindly let me know it was a busy time and he didn't want to make other customers uncomfortable, but he offered to schedule another time for us to come back. Very respectful and professional. Of course, with a scheduled shoot, we couldn't really pivot like that, so I thanked him and started making other plans. BUT then...he came back and said we could go ahead and take pictures, just to be mindful of customers and stay on one side. That meant so much! Even though people naturally started moving into that area (lol), we made it work, and he was super accommodating the entire time. I really appreciated that level of kindness and flexibility. Now let's talk about the space, this laundromat is BEAUTIFUL, if laundromats can be beautiful lol. Clean, bright, and very well-maintained. The floors? Stunning. The machines were all in working order, plenty of baskets available, and I love that they offer full-service wash and fold options too. What stood out the most was the customer service. He greeted people as they came in, listened attentively to customers, and created a welcoming environment. Overall, such a great experience. Thank you for being a part of making my birthday special!
