    Entrance to store

As my girlfriend and I were leaving Nordstrom we saw this store and decided to check it out. We went inside and learned that they were formerly a kiosk at Ross Park Mall but have had their own store for two weeks now. My girlfriend owns a dog so we decided to check out their offerings. It is primarily an upscale accessory store for dogs only. It appears that most of the clothes for dogs are made in the US. They appear to be on the pricey end my friend noted to me. However, they do have what appear to be well made items for dogs only. She was looking for a jacket for her dog and found one for $45.00 and thought it was a bit much. I did call the mall to verify it is indeed a new store and since it sits in the higher end chain of the mall I would expect it to have higher prices. Still it is worth a look to see what they have if you want to get ideas for a dog if you own one.

Products include foods, treats, medications, accessories, pet furniture, etc. PetSmart sells many but not all of the name brands that my pets like. Prices are average, and a rewards program offers some discounts. Furthermore, PetSmart offers services such as a veterinarian, dog-training, and dog and cat grooming. For about 10 years, I have been a customer of this Petsmart for purchasing products and services. In 2022, my English bulldog Olive completed a PetSmart group training class for dogs. The classes included puppy, beginner, intermediate, advanced, and tricks. The trainer Sharon was absolutely excellent. She used positive reinforcement techniques to teach skills to my shy, nervous, and physically ill dog. Sharon was very nice to the dogs and their humans, and I consider her to be an expert in determining how to overcome obstacles in dogs' behaviors. Since then, I adopted a French bulldog, Daisy, and I purchased a training class for her with Sharon. After the class ends in several weeks, I will update my review. In 2024 and 2026, I used this Petsmart's groomer for my cat and dog. In 2024, I took my cat Kira to shave off matted fur. The total price was only $15. I felt thankful that they helped us. In 2026, I took Daisy here for a Bath & Brush Deluxe service, which included shampooing, conditioning, ear cleaning, anal-gland expression, blow drying, nail trimming and grinding, teeth brushing, breath freshener, cologne, and bandana. It cost about $60 plus tax and tip. The stylist Breonna interacted very nicely with Daisy, my husband, and me. She finished the grooming on time. Daisy enjoyed the attention, and she looks and smells very clean.

This time, a groomer I had never seen before handled my dog. Despite some mild matting (which has been managed properly in the past), they completely shaved off all of his body hair, left two legs uneven and chopped up, and his head was poorly groomed. It was clear there was a lack of care, experience, and professionalism. I have photographs documenting the results, and it is truly upsetting. My dog deserves better -- and so does every pet that enters your salon. PetSmart, you have lost my trust. I sincerely hope you take immediate steps to ensure this never happens to another pet or pet parent again.

I had not previously visited a PetPeople, and they mailed me a coupon for 20 percent off, so I stopped in to learn about their products and services. As soon as I entered the store, an employee cheerfully said hello, answered my questions, and directed me to products for cats. (Fellow Yelper, if you are a dog person, I apologize for my inability to discuss their exact dog products. I can tell you that the store sells mostly products for dogs, and they have a few self-serve dog-washing stations.) For cat food and treats, they sell brands such as Fromm, Greenies, Nulo, Orijen, Tiki, Weruva, and many others. For cat supplies, they sell beds, mats, bowls, scratching posts, toys, litter, etcetera. For my cats, I bought about a dozen items, including litter, catnip buds, catnip spray, treats, and toys. Some of the products were unique, and when I brought them home, my cats excitedly played. Prices for some products, such as the cat litter, were higher than at other stores, but the prices were a bargain after my coupon. Prices for other products were comparable to other stores' prices. They do offer a rewards program if you are interested in signing up.

The one rabbit didn't even really have any food. Rabbits are prone to digestion issues and need to be able to be constantly eating. There weren't any hideaways provided for them, or any toys for enrichment or to chew on and keep their teeth down. I didn't get pictures of the guinea pigs. Their cage was literally just stacked on top of the rabbits'. But they also didn't have any toys and no hideaways. Because of this, they were visibly super stressed out because they were kept front and center of the store and didn't have any place to hide and get away from the stressors. The top of their cage was also just open and I saw little kids reaching their hands in without any employees around to facilitate customers interacting with the animals like that. Honestly terrible for everyone involved because A.) The kids could get bit B.) It stresses out the animals C.) The animals are learning to be afraid of people are going to be difficult to socialize with anyone that takes them home and D.) Any germs on the kids' hands could easily be transmitted to the animals and make them sick. This store should just stick with fish honestly. I'm not as knowledgeable about the other kinds of animals they have as I am about guinea pigs and rabbits, but the owners definitely either don't care about the animals or are just really uneducated about the animals they're selling.

We recently had an appointment to meet a puppy and the staff was very polite and attentive. They showed us the breading and medical history and also offered a 3 year warranty on the animal if it malfunctions and dies. On the downside, we would have liked the prices for the animals to have been posted ahead of time because they were extremely high. But I suppose not knowing the cost really got us into the store to at least play with the pupper for a good 20 min. Alas... the pricey pup prevented us from purchasing and hopefully some rich family or desperate consumer will go into debt for the doggy because they do offer in-store financing. I suppose when I get my promotion at work, I'll try this process again and I can attain my designer dog. It's too bad that my family is against retail pets but I say to hell with that. When I entered this store, an employee immediately and kindly greeted me. I walked around the store to browse the merchandise. Most of the products were for dogs. I was shopping for my cats, and I selected a collar and three containers of wet food to buy. The cashier immediately and accurately rang up my purchase and wished me a good day. I deducted half of a star from my review because the prices were a little higher than what a competing online retailer charges. Finally, I read on the website about the Pet Supplies Plus Recycling Program: "We accept all flexible plastic pet food, treat and litter bag packaging, from ALL brands, across ALL species, purchased from ANY retailer...Look for specially marked recycling boxes inside your neighborhood Pet Supplies Plus store." What a fantastic program! I will no longer have to throw my pet-food bags and litter bags into the trash.
