We went on a day trip with them today. It goes for six hours and includes food and non alcoholic beverages.
The aim it's too raise money for the boat to continue it's role in taking wayward juveniles on adventure sail training.
Participants get to climb the rigging( though not very far, about half way up the first stage). They can also go out into the meeting at the front of the boat.
Participants are also encouraged to help with the rigging of sails. This is quite educational.
We had great weather (28° ) but even then there were cool periods and we used extra clothing.
The food is adequate but because the boat is a working craft there is no suitable place for serving do this was accomplished by staff walking around with plates. If one is not alert, one can end up hungry and that certainly happened to us. Although we did not complain we heard others complaining to staff. Advice is get in early and often.
As an experience I thought it was well worth it and would recommend it. read more
