A great idea, a great location, just a little expensive and old now. The complex has an average waterslide, mini golf, small ferris wheel, sideshows, castle and other small games mostly for kids. It's only open during summer, and then the extra carnival starts up on the grass next door to so the whole thing attracts a lot more people, along with the historic Semaphore carousel. It costs around $17 per hour for the waterslide, and $5 each time for golf, the castle, ferris wheel etc. Vacation care groups and kids birthday parties often come here, it I can see it adding up for the parent. The attractions have been the same for as long as I can remember (20 years approx), and there is better staring up around the place, just not in the prime location on beachfront like this one. read more

Under new management from late 2013. The jumping castle is polished by clowns at night and the golf balls are warmed in the belly of the dragon overnight. The mermaids sunbake in the slide during the winter and the ferris wheel is powered by unicorns. Parents are escorted by kids on Sunday mornings, and known to warm the seat and post comments to social sites :-) btw around $17/hr or $5 per ride. read more

An idyllic beach setting and a boatload of rides - the first week of December sees Semaphore water-slide complex abuzz with kid-friendly fun times. I used to LOVE coming here as a kid: all that ice cream followed by the gravitron. Now I'm grown up I'm more likely to add a "beer" and "night swim" in there somewhere as well (though maybe not in that order), but all in all it's a pretty great summertime tradition - if, as Laura says, the complex is putting the "old" in "old school". Yes the water-slide is more quaint than thrilling - but hey the kids still seem to enjoy it and there's always a huge line up. At $17 an hour it's not the cheapest way to spend your time, but combined with the rides, food and general ambiance I'd say it's a pretty sweet little way to spend a day, followed by watching the sunset over Semaphore beach. Kids and nostalgics alike will have a rad time - it's what summer's all about. read more
