When I was directly called out for placing clothes in my bag, I replied by saying I am not a thief but instead I'm a pastor. This location is far better than the one in Austell, although they're busier if you're trying to sell. I have noticed prices have gone up for certain brands which is a bummer bc I've found similar new at places like tjmaxx or marshalls. I'm closer to Austell but i prefer selling and shopping here bc it's bigger and they have more options. The only reason i took off a star is bc they are understaffed and it takes foreverrrrr to sell, i struggled with my infant and toddler. read more

Hoping to be my great experience turned into my worst. I went in for the first time to sell my son's clothes because I've always heard of good things. Again, my FIRST time. I went in, sat my bags of clothes on the counter to give to the employee, signed in and also looked around. I wasn't sure what to expect so after browsing through the store, I finally ask the manager about the process. She explained how everything works but left out a detail. Prior to this conversation, I received my ticket and the time said 12:47. I planned on coming back at 1:45, since the option I chose was to wait for the offer. I was suppose to receive a text message but never did so I went back to the store at 1:45. I spoke with yet ANOTHER employee and she explained to me that I'm just waiting for a text. I left to wait in my car and still NO TEXT. Hours have gone by and I still didn't get one so I eventually went home. Right at 7:25, I called the store letting them know that I didn't receive a text while I was there but I'm just knowing seeing one. The manager proceeds to say that she told me I had to be back before 7 to pick up my offer or it would roll into a store credit. She DID NOT explain this to me at all and continue to try to argue with me about it. I don't appreciate the customer service at all and will never do this process again. Used them only as a buyer: Although they claim to pay 25% - 40%, we only got ~ $.78 / item (for over 200, pretty high quality items for them to look through). The price in the store was $6 (That's ~13%) for a comparable item of comparable quality and comparable condition. Also, the associates either need math lessons or they lied to us about how many items they took, as both times we took stuff in the items indicated purchased were less than how many they actually took. They seem like sweet folks, but this isn't worth it. Sell at a garage sale or give to Goodwill for the full $6 - at 30% tax rate you're way ahead and you don't have to launder, sort and organize it all. Very similar experience at Tadpoles in Kenn, although made a little more per item there - am writing a review for them also. read more

I stopped in here to pass some time with my 10 month old. I thought the prices were okay...not great. For example, some Gap boys jeans for $8.50 with the tags attached. Not too terribly bad, but I get better deals at gap when combining my discounts and my gap card. We need a second crib for my mom's house and they had a very nice DaVinci crib that seemed a couple of years old, but they wanted $220 for the crib alone! I laughed, because I bought my DaVinci crib brand new at target on clearance for $85 last year when my son was born, so there is no way I would spend that on a used one. I did buy Chase a little grocery cart for $8, which I thought was good, although it didn't come with any of the "groceries" that normally would. Despite the reasonable prices, I thought the customer service was horrible! No one greeted me when I walked in the door, and with the ding it makes and the fact that there were four employees standing there at the counter sorting items, there really is no excuse. Not to mention, I had one of the women squeeze by me while I was browsing and she didn't bother saying a word. Needless to say, I probably won't go back into this particular location again but would try the Roswell one! read more

I wish I could give this place more stars. I love the idea of shopping consignment for my kiddos, but this place makes it way too difficult. It is absolutely packed to the max with so much stuff. Walking through an aisle takes some ninja like moves just to keep from knocking down an entire clothing rack of stuff. I wish they were a little more selective in what they accept...or get a bigger store. Also, I've sold stuff here for years and what you get is pennies compared to what you paid for it, but oh well. If I'm taking it there it is usually to get it off of my hands and I'm never expecting much. But be forewarned that if you have plans for the money you think you'll get for selling your items, plan small...very small. read more

My husband and I brought a fair amount of clothing to sell, only to have most of it turned away because they don't have enough space. What they did buy from us I was OK with - something is better than nothing, right? I also like that you have the option for cash or store credit. My issues with this store are the employees and the physical space. We have visited this store 3 times, and each time we have received rude service. Employees acted bothered when we asked for help, and no one has ever greeted us when we entered. I guess we should have learned our lesson the first time. The store is incredibly small and very difficult to maneuver in. For a children's store, it's very inconvenient to bring your children. Also, each time we've visited it's incredibly hot inside. If you do visit, I highly recommend going first thing in the morning to shop (when it's not packed) and sell your items (so you can get the process over with in a reasonable time). We'll be checking out other OUAC stores from now on (and hope they have different owners). read more

Honestly the store is a little cluttered and the staff is not the friendliest but I feel they've always given me a fair price for the clothes that I have brought, I cannot say the same for another location I visited and was completely ripped off. Eh. I've shopped OUAC in a few different locations, and this one was the least exciting. I found a couple of items I would have considered but don't think that $8.50 for a pretty well-loved 3T Polo button up is all that great. Call me cheap. The 3T/4T section was really quite small, and the quality of the clothing lacked (very worn), but that could just be the age as the kiddos tend to play pretty rough. I've passed this store several times and was curious, so now my curiosity has been piqued. Won't be making this part of my regular rotation - I'll just go buy new clothes at Target or TJ Maxx/Marshalls. read more

Have had had good experiences with one particular employee. However, thanks to the rude girl who claims that her parents own the store, we will never come back to this location. I ask anyone reading reviews of this place and considering to do business here to go elsewhere. Anywhere that caters to the children's market should be expected to be nice and courteous, especially to pregnant women. Using "my parents own this store" as an excuse to be rude to customers is unacceptable. Just the fact that someone would say such a thing to a customer is in itself inexcusable. There are other stores, there are other companies, take your business elsewhere and show entitled nepotistic employees that being rude is never rewarded. read more

I love being thrifty and finding good quality used items for a good deal, but I was surprised at some of the pricing. There were several new items with the tags that were priced at retail price. Even though they had the tags, it's still expected to get a better deal on the item at a consignment store. The store is clean, easy to walk around in, and the staff was friendly. TURN AROUND!!! I love consignment shopping for my 2 year old son, but this place is a HOT MESS!!! First off, it looks like they take in EVERYTHING that comes in the door! You can hardly breathe in there with how much CRAP you're surrounded with. They need to be more selective in their buying process. IT IS WAYYYYY TOO CLUTTERED- even for a consignment store.. Now the Roswell store is definitely worth the drive! I'm contemplating on saying that because I don't want to share all the treasures I find there!! This Once upon a child location is decent. I prefer the one in Duluth, GA but now this location is closer for me. This store has a ton of clothes, maybe too many. The store is small so it can take some maneuvering to get around and look especially if its crowded. And can be even more harder to move around with a stroller.They have a blocked off play area for the kids though I've never needed to use it. I don't have any experience with selling clothes to them but I did attempt to at the one in Duluth & I was so displeased with how little of my clothes they bought & how much money I received for them. Here are my tips if you are reading this & are considering to visit this shop. 1. Try to go when you have enough time to look through everything. I typically try to go by myself or when I have my oldest child. I try to go during the week before 3pm. I'm not a fan of crowds! 2. Double check the shoe or clothing sizes with what it says on the price tag & what's on or in the clothes or shoes. I've been on rack that says 12 months & found plenty of items sizes weren't 12 months. This is especially important if they previously had a big sale! Check buttons & zippers to make sure they are functional. 3. If something doesn't have a price tag be prepared to negotiate a price. Don't tell them a price you think they want to hear but a price that is reasonable for the condition of the item & your budget but be reasonable. 4. If you are buying any type of baby gear or equipment make sure you have an idea of how much it would cost if you purchased the item new. Sometimes their items are only a few bucks cheaper from what it would cost new.I know a few bucks can make a world of a difference for some but remember if something happens to it after a week its your loss. And please make sure its fully functional before buying it. I would even go as far as checking walmart or target reviews about the item. I avoided buying a bouncy chair from OUAC because of the reviewers who bought it new from walmart complained that it stopped working after a few months of use. 5. If you think something is high it probably is, so shop around (craigslist, tadpoles, baby & more store, etc) 6. If you think a particular clothing item runs little small, it probably does, don't buy it ! 7. If you want to save even more money buy their reusable bag (use every time you shop to receive double stamps) to get more stamps on your card, keep up with your stamped card because it'll save you 20% off on one of your shopping days, sign up for their emails, sign up for the text messages, & call to see what specials they're having that day! read more

So I'm typically a bit weary of used anything. Something about the idea of someone I don't know having worn my "new" clothes kind of makes me cringe, and I would especially feel the same way when it came to my kid's clothes. All this considered, I found Once Upon A Child to be extremely clean and well-organized and I could tell they kept high standards for the clothes they accepted in their store because a lot of it looked brand new and many even still had tags. They had a huge selection: cribs, strollers, diaper bags, and other accessories in addition to the clothes, and all at the low-cost you'd expect from a consignment type of store, but with higher quality merchandise. I found several good-as-new name brand items at half the price, which is great since they grow out of them so fast. Once Upon A Child allows me to get the best without the guilt and without having to explain to my husband why I spent so much on stuff my kid's will wear for just a few months. :p Another thing I was impressed with: I usually picture disorganized heaps of clothes that you kind of have to dig through to find what you want at these places, but OUAP was EXTREMELY organized and categorized neatly by gender and size. As a previous poster said, the staff was very friendly and willing to help. Gina, the owner, makes you feel like you've been friends for years. There's also a little play area for children so you don't have to feel rushed, like you have to get out before the next toddler outburst since the play area keeps them pretty occupied. It's an easy, relaxed experience shopping here and I've already recommended it to all the other moms and pregnant friends I know! read more

I was very disappointed by this location, so much that I felt a review was necessary to warn others. The staff is friendly and welcoming - sometimes. Most of the prices are higher then other consignments. I agree with another review: they either need math lessons or are lying about the purchased items that you sell to them. I took in 2 tubs of girls clothes and waited an hour and a half. They took 5 things and offered 9.20 in store credit. One dress they took was worth at least $20 and was in pristine condition. I get that some of my items were probably too worn, but way more than 5 items were completely fine. I took my stuff and left, I would rather donate to someone who needs it at this point. This is my one stop baby shop! I don't even get all the negative reviews about this place. The store is a bit cramped but that is my only complaint. They have amazing gently used baby clothing at really reasonable prices. I am particularly a huge fan on the ten for ten dollar onesies. I found a like new arms reach co sleeper at this location for 60 bucks which is a fraction of the cost of a new one. The staff is helpful and nice granted they don't greet you when you come in the door but its because they are crazy busy. I would totally recommend this place to all of my Mommy friends. Paying full price for new clothes is silly when they constantly out grow it. read more

I came here to sell my toddler clothing. Waited about 45 minutes only for them to take a few items. They said the rest of the clothing was too worn! Are you kidding me?! The clothing was in great shape and condition. Some of the clothing he may have worn one time. I was looking at clothes on the rack and I my clothes were in. Enter shape than some of their items! I don't understand this store. A few weeks ago I came in and they gave me a descent price for one tub of clothes which they only took part of them. Today I went in and brought three tubs of clothes that were in great shape just like the other ones and they offered 5.00 less than the one tub. I was sure I would get a lot more today. I took brand new clothing with tags to them and she refused them for "wear" but they had never been worn. Also said thatthe clothing stunk even though it wAS FRESH. Out of the washer and dryer. I really don't like giving bad reviews especially when I thought this was going to be a great thing when you have babies. I hate being lied to more, however. I've taken in, a number of times now, items that have tags still and items worn once without a single stain and being told they can't take them because of stains or general wear. When something hasn't even been worn then you are lying to me. It wastes everyone's time, as well when you're not honest about why you rejected an item. You know, if you don't want an item because it's out of season or you have too many in your inventory just say so. Don't lie to people. If people know you don't want Christmas items right now, for example, say so and they won't bring it in wasting their time and the store's. read more

This place (OUAC in kennesaw) is such a rip off ! I had a baby gear which never been used, and some other baby clothing and toys. Went there and waited almost an hour for mine to be reviewed. They gave me $ 23 for Originally $115 baby gear. She said they will sell it for @$70 and gave me $23 for that. What a thief ! I chose to sell it to a consigner b/c I didn't want a hassel to pack and mail it, having babies on my hands. I got moeny just b/c I had been waiting too long and too tired to carry that back. I'll NEVER go back to that place and I would NOT recommend to anyone at all. read more

ZERO stars! NEVER take your clothes to be sold at this place! I took 6 bins of almost all Gymborre and some Justice- hardly worn & several still had price tags.- all nicely folded, all sorted by sizes, sorted by dresses, skirts, pants. They wanted to offer $2 a piece AND had thrown all the clothes they didn't want by shoving them in random bins and wadded everything up. When I asked to speak to the manager, they said the manager or owner was not there. I got her name and will follow up.. yet wanted to give all of the parents out that have nice clothes & those that take hours of time to do what they ask to clean, fold, press, and sort.... they have NO RESPECT for your clothing and offer next to nothing- so trust me, it is a waste of your time and I highly encourage you to take your business elsewhere. read more

They were friendly, however, we took in several items that were "like new" (toys, bassinet, etc.) to be told that the items were not going to be accepted becuase they had been recalled. So, we returned home with what we thought would be our biggest sellers. Later, I checked online and even called the manufacturer for our largest items. Nope! NOTHING had been recalled. All of the items were fine. I can only assume they did not look closely at what were had brought in and so, they confused our items with other recalled items?! Don't know what to do, though. Don't want to take it back here but, Roswell location has had such bad reviews for customer service... Not sure I want to go there either. read more
