Thrift Sh!t Vintage is one of the cool little shops tucked into Fort Lauderdale's Historic…read moreSistrunk/Progresso Village industrial corridor. I love finding small independent businesess like this with nostalgic clothing that sparks a memory. You never know what you might find. Thrift Sh!t Vintage was founded in 2019 by Victor Rodriguez III, who started out by selling vintage apparel while he was still in college. He worked to build his business through local markets. Pieces were sold at UCF and vintage markets around Florida before opening a pop-up in August 2021 at Velvet Velour Creative House in Miami. It was a success and he moved to Proper Studio. In July 2023, Rodriguez opened in the shop's current home in Progresso. This shop specializes in men's and women's clothing. It includes Y2K fashion, retro streetwear, concert and band T-shirts, and sports memorabilia. There was a sale rack when I visited, although some of the rarer concert shirts were priced much higher. A Spinal Tap shirt gave me a chuckle. It also made me start thinking about whether I still have my own box of old concert T-shirts somewhere! I really enjoyed the way the store displays its merchandise. One of my favorite details was an old pool table being repurposed to display jeans. There's also a dressing room, so you can try things on before making your purchase. And if you have vintage clothes of your own that you're ready to part with, they buy clothing as well. This would be a fun outing with friends. The one drawback is parking, which is limited. There is also a sign in the window warning customers not to park at the nearby dog park because vehicles will be towed, so definitely pay attention to where you leave your car. I found Thrift Sh!t Vintage to be worth it if you find yourself in the area.

It is right around the corner from the up and coming F.A.T Village Arts District. It's a family owned business so if you see something you want to haggle about you can speak directly to the owners. Sometimes they aren't there so just call before you come down. The two rooms of the store are filled with an eclectic mix of stuff like jewelry, instruments, clothing, home items, and collectibles. I was interested in the art but it was jammed so tightly in the shelf I couldn't really see it. I think the most unusual item I saw was a ship's porthole. I heard the owners son tell a customer that they had even more things in the back and to come again when his father was back from his fishing trip. If you are looking for something specific it is probably just best to ask them about it. I didn't find anything but I had fun looking. The wife who was working was very sweet. Inventory changes based on what they purchase so you can check in to see new things.

I think these people are trying to redefine "eclectic." I'm always amazed at what I find here. Everything from books and CDs to furniture to things that I couldn't even categorize. They're only open toward the end of the week and I believe on Saturdays. You'll know if they're open because they put stuff out on the sidewalk. If you see it out there, stop in. Their prices are reasonable but often, I just spend a lunch hour looking at everything they have. It's all used and it changes fairly rapidly, so every time I come in, it's a new experience. Oh, and the couple who run it are very sweet.

They had a good selection of women's clothes that were attractively arranged and priced. They have a very nice dressing room area set up in the back of the store which is a welcome feature and not often provided by thrift stores. You can try on anything that catches your fancy, purchase clothing, and consign your gently worn items. Another Chance also sells accessories, housewares and knick knacks. I didn't see any furniture for sale but I think they have it from time to time. Help the planet and save money with thrift. Davie has so many great second hand stores and you can add Another Chance to the list.

My mother needed a new wardrobe, first place I thought of? This amazing little shop. How comforting it was to see ms. k was still there. She told me she also struggled with staying in business with being temporarily shut down. "I'm like a weed, you can't mow me down. I shoot right back up." As my mother toddled in with her aide and me, another customer gave up the "waiting for someone forever" chair. Everyone inside the store shopping or otherwise was just as friendly, wearing masks and social distancing. A little quieter than usual, but still welcoming; the atmosphere was the same. Great fashionable, well stocked, and discerning selection she is known for. Clothes are still fairly priced. The selection is still classy and eclectic, "grown" woman clothes I like to say.

The merch was easily visible in multiple sections of genre. Im gonna bring in some of my vintage Marvel action figure collectibles for an appraisal and hopeful sale. The comics from the 1980s were competively priced for their condition and rarity. Center store there was a display case of retro pinback buttons provided a quick flashback of the past. This was the kind of store where you could easily lose track of time! Definitely recommend a peek for all collectors or unique gift ideas.

The Mustard Seed Thrift Store is a ministry outreach of the Davie United Methodist Church. You can find it in a small building to the left of the church. The Mustard Seed Thrift Shop is open every Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM. The thrift store is staffed with church volunteers and they take donations while the store is open. They accept and sell gently used clothing, children's toys and clothes, and small household items. Prices are very in expensive, clothing is only a dollar for an example and the church provides clothing vouchers for those in need if they contact the church office. I saw some interesting glass items, some of which may have been vintage. Patient church volunteers were giving a math lesson to some children buying toys. Although on the small side, this is a cute, welcoming store and the prices can't be beat. There are also several other thrift stores in the area so you can add the Mustard Seed to a thrifting circuit in Davie.
