This review has two parts. The first part is for the benefit of United Healthcare enrollees and…read morewill contain the complaint we filed with the BBB against Quality Therapy and Wellness on March 14, 2025. The second part is for anyone interested. First part: "Starting in January 2025, Quality Therapy and Wellness in Yuma, AZ (QTW henceforth) informed its clientele that it would not be accepting any new patients covered by United Healthcare (UHC henceforth.) We started with QTW in July 2024 under UHC, so as an existing patient, my wife was covered in 2025. On February 13, 2025, my wife was evaluated by one of the doctors and told that she was making excellent progress in recovering from a stroke under QTW's tutelage. He said that she was an exemplary patient and that they looked forward to her continuing with QTW. However, for "insurance purposes," it was prudent for her to take a "pause" (their word) from therapy for about a month and then return. The front desk staff was aware of this and agreed. Now one month later with the pause finished, we obtained a new physical therapy prescription from my wife's PCP, as is insurance practice, to continue with QTW. Upon contacting QTW to resume therapy, we were told that this was impossible since she had been "discharged" from the facility. For this reason, she would now be considered a "new patient" and thus excluded from UHC benefits with QTW. This is patently false and a pretext to remove us from QTW's UHC agreement. We feel profoundly lied to and defrauded by QTW. Subsequent, repeated attempts to make contact with QTW management to get a resolution were ignored. Hopefully, the BBB can look into this and bring about some good. The public should be aware of QTW's business practices. Thank you." Second part: Aside from QTW's business practices described above, we have been very happy with the level of care and attention that my wife received there. The therapists are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. For these reasons, we wish we could continue with QTW, but obviously, this won't happen. If possible, the first half of this review would have garnered zero stars and the second half five stars. Overall, we feel that even one star is generous for this business due to their unethical behavior toward us.

He uses hands on manipulation, asks you where the most pain is, and focuses on that. He doesn't switch you around from one therapist to a different one each session. Only one therapist gets to know you and how each session is working, as well as communicates with you and learns what is successful with each session. Dan, as the best therapist there is, watches you when you are approaching for the session, and he can see what the problem is before any words are exchanged. The biggest downfall for some is that they aren't willing to do the stretches or exercises he recommends, and that is on the patient. I have watched Dan's business grow over the years, he taught himself to learn Spanish so he could communicate with the Hispanic patients, and did all the mounds of necessary paperwork to be able to take on VA patients. Over the years, he and his wife Kyri have become involved in community events and has become a very important part of Yuma's best to offer. When I tell family members they need to be able to find a therapist like Dan, I realize more than ever how lucky we are to have him, because they can't find one. Kathy Wallner
