Absolute unsafe vessel with electrical mess - RUN AWAY from this company. I'm a 30year boat owner - this was not normal. Repeat occurrence on this boat evidently. Came back early as I didn't feel safe on the water with my wife. There were issues on start up. Shut down to restart malfunctioning map while in open water - restarted finally while drifting into a pylon. Lengthy restart with throttle disconnect stranded on beach island-if no cell service we would have been in trouble. All of this was a REPEAT with no info given prior. Can not more strongly say this company is not worth your safety. read more

Owner was incredibly rude to my father-in-law (FIL) and called him a dipshit in an email correspondence. Prior to our rental date, my FIL emailed owner to ensure he had rented the correct boat. Email was never answered. After our 4-hour rental engagement, my FIL sent a follow-up email to question why the original email had been ignored. The owner responded with - "Hey, Frank. You sound like a real dipshit" (see email in picture). I was absolutely astounded that a business owner would respond to a customer in such a manner. Definitely shows how little he cares about the people using his company. We won't make that mistake again. read more

When you arrive to pickup the boat at 9th St. Boat Ramp the representative has you approve a list of rules which have very high penalties included, $500 for example. I have rented boats from other rental companies for years, to take a leisurely boat ride from Naples to the Snook Inn. We always stop at the shelling beach and carry on to Snook Inn without going west into the gulf. For this route they say you are going into the Gulf and therefore they charge you credit card an additional $500. In addition, the boat was beat-up and had poor acceleration, hard steering and cavitated when riding over large wakes from other boats. My worst rental experience ever. read more

Owners did not fill boat up with gas. Even though the gages read full all day. We only ran the boat about an hour on the water to get to Keewaydin and about another 30 minutes before it died. We ran out of gas during our trip and washed up on shore. I called Mel 8 times and she wouldn't answer the phone. I called Espen, the owner, and he finally met us where we were stranded. Espen swore they filled up the boat the night before and then changed his story to say it was the day of and that he was personally there. I never saw Espen this morning so I find his changing story hard to believe. The crew brought out a 5 gallon can of gas and the boat fired right back up. They stated they would follow us back to the dock to make sure nothing else happened and then they took off again and left us. I'm glad no other issues occurred on our way back. Once we arrived back to the dock, Espen had taken off. No real apology, nothing offered to remedy the situation. The area where the boat died was in a heavy populated channel with strong currents. I'm glad no one or the boat was injured. read more

Last year we showed up and waited for 1- 1/2 hours for our boat rental. After waiting in the hot sun with 3 other couples, all our supplies, food, etc, we were told that our "rental had been in an accident". To be honest, we did not believe them...but after being told that we would receive a refund and a future discount, we arranged other plans. It took over a month to receive our money back. Hoping that we would receive a discount and all would be made right, we decided to try again. This time we asked for a contract with the boat rental number on it AND paid five month's in advance of our trip. Fast forward to to last week. After landing in Naples we received a call asking us what boat we had rented. Of course, we didn't immediately know the specific boat we rented (apparently, neither did they). However, were told that the boat had to be put into the shop and would not be available. After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, I believe they have very poor management and no real system of reserving boats. Don't plan on getting your contracted, paid for boat if you rent from here. read more

Worst boat rental experience ever. Do not rent from this company! I had apparently mistakenly booked the wrong date for my rental. The rental fees include gas and pet fee, which we paid in advance. When I realized the mistake after the wrong rental period has passed, I contacted and indicated a mistake had been made. I would assume good business practice would to provide at least a partial credit for future use. Customers can make a mistake, with some level of gratuitousness displayed by the business owner. Not On the Pontoon boat rentals! The response was extremely unprofessional and rude. I'm acknowledging it's season and often boat rentals are busy, but they refused any credit, including the unused gas or pet fee. Plus, by not using the boat, I didn't put any hours on the motor, so less boat depreciation. He will respond to this post and indicate I was notified of the reservation confirmation with various emails. Correct, but does that mean you can't show graciousness or compassion to a customer who made an unfortunate error? This is the kicker, I had simply asked for a copy of a signed legal agreement, which I had not signed. After my inquiry, he responded by adding an additional $500 charge on my credit card for "defending a credit card dispute", which had not even occurred. So highly inappropriate and quite frankly disgusting. Of course the credit card company has indicated the $500 charge is not valid and they indicated he may be in trouble for an inappropriate charge. Unfortunately, the original charge is valid because I processed the card subject to his terms. My mistake. But to be this unprofessional, I cannot stress enough you should not use this company. I've added a previous review response from On the Pontoon to give a clear picture of the arrogance demonstrated. Poor woman had bad experience with a broken boat and rude staff. The response? "You're permanently banned from renting from us again!" Here is yet another example of how this business treats customers. Please see this yelp review attached. Examine the rude and arrogant response. Please do not rent from this company. Fair warning, if something goes wrong, they will not accept any responsibility and make you out to be the bad person. We had our reservation scheduled for three weeks. The morning we arrive there nobody was there to greet us. We waited and we waited and we waited. We tried calling Mel numerous times no answer. Finally on the last attempt she answered she returned our call. She proceeded to say she didn't know why no one was there and that she would be there shortly as she was on Marco Island. She finally arrived about 45 minutes later and proceeded to get us checked in and onto a pontoon boat. Well all I could say about the boat was that it was horrible. And that is mainly because Mel and her son both failed to tell us that it was governed at no higher than 12 1/2 to 13 miles an hour. Can you believe they failed to say that??? Needless to say we are in the market to rent another pontoon boat as we have family coming in but we absolutely absolutely absolutely will not be coming back to this place.!!! read more

I am so infuriated with this company on how disorganized they are. I called over a month ago to book a pontoon, the woman who answered the phone was in her car and driving with kids - she took my name and phone number and said someone should be contacting the week of to get a deposit. Fast forward, two weeks ago I called and said I have a reservation for a 12 person pontoon and wanted to verify the date I booked. She confirmed I was booked for the date I requested. Again she told me someone was going to be calling me the week of to get deposit. Perfect! I never heard anything this week and texted the company this morning as I never heard from them this week... I had kind of a bad feeling. Apparently the company lost my reservation and there was no solution provided to help ease the situation. I unfortunately became infuriated very quickly as this has been planned for over a month and the woman hung up on me. She offered no apology that to mend the situation, no apology for their disorganization, and the hanging up really had shown me their true business morals. I understand things happen but the woman's attitude towards the whole scenario was baffling. Before she hung she was trying to blame it on another woman who worked at the company. It's super sad and beyond frustrating. read more
