Decided to try this place with a few friends as the food looked really good. Ordered the Westside Philly Cheesesteak and my brother ordered the bacon cheeseburger. As you can see, the sandwiches are completely stuffed with deliciously seasoned meats, there's easily enough to make it last 2 meals. The cheesesteak literally melts in your mouth as you chow down, and the bacon cheeseburger was so buttery and delectable. Sides of fries were fresh and delicious as well. The cookies were absolutely delicious, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and oozing with chocolate chunks. I would go back just to have more! Definitely recommend ordering something off the menu, but the desserts in particular are to die for. read more

This food truck was one of the worst I've ever tried. We tried it today in an Islamic event in Pomona, we waited 2 hrs and 15 min to get our food which was 2 burgers. The burger was burnt and very salty which we couldn't finish it and got waisted. The fries were sooooo salty and un cooked. Also they charged 13.99 for a cheese burger which came with nothing inside the sandwich, no lettuce, no pickles or onions and you had to pay extra for these toppings. Will not try it again AT ALL. read more

The food is lackluster for the price, the wait is extraordinary long and the best thing on the menu is the four dollar fries. You do get a big portion. I'm sorry your food was nasty . lmaoo first of all appearance* and fulfill* second, a hit dog will holler cause sir you bigger than me. I can't sit here all day and argue with someone who not educated enough to spell "fulfill" enjoy your day love fix those recipes. Have a blessed day . read more

1.5 hours wait for a loaded fries and philly cheese steak! and there's not even a line! Unsanitary! The guy doesn't wear gloves! Overpriced! $40 dollars for fries and sandwich! Poor guy, he looks like he doesnt want to work there. read more

Found this place on maps in my neighborhood, I feel like I was blessed with this... man everything I have tried has been delicious! tonight I got a smoked beef short rib dinner every side order was fantastic (greens, Mac and cheese, yams) but when I bit into the rib fell right off the bone and the flavor WOW!!!! When I think of cookies, I would probably think of Levain from New York, Proof Bakery in Atwater Village, and even those crispy thin cookies from Tate's. However, I would not think of enjoying one of the best cookies in Southern California from a house near Crenshaw. Ontmenu is run by Marquis, who coins himself as the "King of Cheesecake", and to be honest I would agree. Marquis prides himself on using the best ingredients and the results speak for themselves. My favorite cookie, of his expansive selection, is the Gemini cookie, which has dark, semi-sweet, and milk chocolate, toffee, pecans, and hazelnuts. I know.... it's a lot but it is divine. I've also tried the red velvet and banana pudding cookies and they are so unique and yummy. Furthermore, his cheesecakes are amazing and of very high quality. Marquis himself is a nice man who loves his customers and enjoys making them happy with his desserts. I can truly feel the love and care he puts in his cookies and cheesecake, and thats what makes it the best cookies in Los Angeles. I always come here when I'm stressed during midterms and he is always so kind and encouraging when delivering the food so it is always a nice pick me up. I'd give this place minus stars if I could. I don't even know where to begin!!! My husband, cousin, his fiancé and I decided to stop by at this food truck on our way out from Yard House to get some cookies. My cousin paid $21 for 6 cookies and the man from the food truck looked visibly angry...why? We don't know. Because he had to make a fresh batch of cookies? Anyway, 15 minutes go by and my husband asks how much longer the wait would be. The food truck guy continued to have so much attitude. So I stepped in asking why he was speaking so rudely, especially toward paying customers. He cursed at me and began getting aggressive toward my cousin. The man then decided he was not going to give us the cookies we paid for and proceeded to swing at my cousin. If we hadn't walked away, I'm sure this would have ended badly. Avoid this food truck at all costs. The way this man behaved was aggressive and unprofessional. Definitely not a way to bring in business! If I could post the video I took of him, I would. read more

Are you ready for an ADVENTURE?! An adventure that leads to heavenly cookies and cheesecake that is! I was skeptical when my friend told me "you message this guy on instagram and then pick up desserts from his house." But MAN WAS IT WORTH IT! His cookies were SIGNIFICANTLY better than Diddy Riese, Cream, you name it! His cheesecakes were amazing too (particularly the cookies&cream one) but I can't move forward from those cookies. I could go on and on about how wonderful, amazing these desserts are, but instead I'm going to do something more useful, give you step by step directions on how to get your hands on some! STEP 1: message him on instagram @ontmenu (his name is Chef Marquis, and he has magic in his hands) STEP 2: Order from the cheesecake menu ($6 per slice) or cookie menu (see his instagram for flavors of the day) STEP 3: drive to his house in LA (1550 W46th St) to pick up some fresh, warm cookies and mouth-watering cheesecake! Honestly, you haven't tried real dessert until you've tried his cookies and cheesecakes! Cheesecakes we tried: Strawberry shortcake, Nilla wafer, Hershey's cookies and cream, Vanilla bean with Madeline crust Cookies we tried: we got gemini, chocolate chip, and white chocolate macadamia nut. Honestly Gemini was out of this world, I legitimately teared up while eating them because they were so perfect! Very few bakers can get the soft, gooeyness of cookies while still maintaining its firm exterior. I've had my fair share of yelping and food chasing but this was one adventure that was definitely worth it!!! Do yourself a favor and go! I have no doubt in my mind a few years from now he'll have this popping franchise with lines out the door and I can say "I had his cookies and cheesecakes when he was selling them out of his house". I can't begin to explain how amazing Chef Marquis is. His cookies are fresh, warm, gooey, crunchy, and heavenly all at the same time. I mean, how do you perfect ALL of those things in ONE cookie??? My friend literally cried, had TEARS in her eyes because of how amazing these cookies were. We ordered the Chocolate chip, Gemini, and White chocolate macadamia nut and literally finished 2 dozens in the car on the way home. The cheesecake was a mastery. You could tell Chef put 2 years of hard work making sure this recipe was perfected so that every bite gives you a smooth, cool, mouth-watering taste. He pours his heart into every creation, and it is so obvious once you take your first bite. We tried the strawberry shortcake, nilla wafer, Hershey's cookies and creme, vanilla bean with Madeline crust and would definitely recommend them all. He is the cheesecake king! This is my cousin so you may think I am being biased. Just look at my other reviews and determine if I'm lying on them for yourself. He makes the best cheesecake in the Los Angeles area. Yes, better than Harrietts. I had a baby shower for my son when he was born. My gf cousin made the cake for us. My cousin showed up with a strawberry cheesecake and needless to say the cake was just decoration. Didn't get touched and my girls cousin felt some kinda way about it. But half the people there was her family ‍. His cookies are the bomb too. I like the Gemini and Peach Cobbler cookies personally. He will sell you the dough to make at home at your leisure too. He also makes cakes, pies and dinners. Everything is made from the highest quality ingredients and from scratch. read more

I give them 0 + 0=o stars lol!! This is a blk owned truck and I am a blk playing customer. I would NEVER I mean NEVER give this truck a dime. If you see them walk the other way immediately! Their attitudes are trash and not to mention the cook came outside with a cigarette in his mouth as he proceeded to give a young man homeless kid some druuuggss .. Our food was nasty and looks unappetizing... this is a total scam truck and that's why they have an iPad outside that you pay at. This ain't about Race and or a Karen Brother! See we are East Coast people and we don't fall for the Okie Doke being ignored and disrespected. This is about your inability to satisfied your customers needs in a timely fashion. People come to food trucks for fast and convenient food not to wait for an hr for food. It was your duty as a business owner on a busy evening*mostly because restaurants were full)to notify customers that any orders would have an additional wait time,, not for the customer to ask. Also , it is ridiculous to tell people that they have to wait for a refund until after your shift is over with and after originally saying you don't give refunds. Business 101, if you dont have the services, can't provide the product and/or are have people not happy with the process, you do the Right Thing and refund the person the money back. I know at least five people that wanted refunds This is fried food that we are talking about nothing spectacular, like you are make a 6 course meal.It made your Business look inadequate the fact that you would argue and cuss with people about refunds. I could go on and on but I'm not going to lecture you on how to run your business, but you displayed very unprofessional business equittte. FYI the other food trucks didn't take long..come on and you are sell fried food making people wait for up to an hr. Not a good Business model! read more

My husband and I came to LA and saw this truck. A couple who were African American walked up and ordered. We were debating on what to get, my husband went to the widow and said "Hi " and the guy with a rude attitude said We're closed and walked away to the other side of the truck. It was 11:50pm and in there site I just checked says 3am. Where is the respect and kindness for us customer. We then grabbed food at another truck and was headed to our car and a group of African Americans were walking passed their truck and the guy started talking with a nice tone and told them hey please check us out and had smiles on there face. Just wanted to add that I tried the wings OG hot and bacon cheeseburger with my siblings today, and we all loved it. It's pretty tough not to advocate for Marquis' food, considering I've yet to hear anything bad, and had not one but two great experiences with the food. I would add that you should try your best to get the wings as they sell out fast and are, in no exaggerated way, delicious. Asalaamualaikum big bro! Sorry for the late response. Going to let you know in the order of what I tried. My wife sends her salaams and is going to send you her own review as well. It took us the next day just to finish this blessing of a food you gave us lol. Im a big wing guy, I go to a lot of different places to try their halal wings. But wow bro, yours literally topped a dozen place that I've been and I'm not even trying to exaggerate. Those were the best wings I've ever tried. You can taste the smokey with the deep fried goodness. I would chew slowly just to savor the amazing flavor. The strawberry shortcake cheesecake was ridiculous. I'm never stepping foot inside of a Cheesecake Factory or any other places that sell cheesecakes. We tried the westside philly cheesesteak the next day, and even when we reheated it, the rib eye was still rich in flavor. I'd definitely want to reorder it again and try it while it's still fresh. As for the cookies, all of them were great. The brownie, peanut butter and Nutella, and banana pudding cookies were so good that I couldn't choose which one would be my favorite or even try to rank them. Overall, any time I come to LA your place will be my first stop. I don't know how or why you're not Michelin recommended yet or maybe they haven't discovered you but insha'Allah they do. Some of the best wings I've had in my life. I ordered the Mississippi Jerk and the flavor was off the chain. Great value at $15 for 10 wings plus roll, fries, and a drink. My girlfriend and I have also had the cookies and cheesecake on previous times. The cookies are off the chain as well, no bad flavors. I personally am not the biggest fan of cheesecake in general, but I can still recognize that his was a good version of it and my girlfriend loved it but did mention it was a tad bit sweet. All in all, Chef Marquis is throwing down and I highly recommend trying him out. read more

First off, this isn't the "Karen" you are talking about. This is another bystander. You NEVER told us a wait time and ignored us when we asked about our food, that's why we were so frustrated. Also, there was no website given to us "look for a wait time" as well as not finding one even on the internet. No establishment in this country waits over 45 min for Fries and a shake and you DID NOT inform us at the time of ordering. For common sense, you could have made an announcement to your customers warning them about a high wait volume instead of sitting their unresponsive and watching your customers freeze in the cold. You then had the audacity to say I give refunds at the end of the night when I close, insinuating making your customers wait in the cold until potentially 1am when you close, what kind of business does that who supposedly "cares" so much about their customers? All your other customers were frustrated too as they wanted refunds but were too scared to speak up for themselves. Calling a white woman a Karen who is with a black man with a biracial child is just ignorance and proves my exact point. This comes to pure customer service that you lack. We were outdoors, you are indoors breathing on customers food with no mask... there's a difference! And we weren't just going to "go somewhere else" as you say with no food or no refund! Also, you were the aggressor saying to meet him "outside", while making a scene in front of YOUR customers. You never directed our site to your so-called "sign" that says no refunds and we still didn't have our food while you were negotiating "no refunds". I don't care how good your food is, you do not treat customers like that as customer service is FIRST priority. I hope you gain some better customer service skills. read more

Wow! I am speechless I ordered the oatmeal cookies and by far the best I have tasted. Marquis made them to order and when we got them the box was so warm. The cookies were soft but the edges were crisp and buttery. You can taste the soul, the love and flavor he puts in his food. The cheese cake was so creamy, flavorful and light. My daughter ended up eating most of it. But its ok I will order from him again! And I do want to thank Marquis because I dont have to make desserts at home now I have a dessert making break. read more

Ok... so I yelped dessert and this place popped up on my phone. Seeing that it was walking distance it was a must try. I wasn't sure how to proceed and what I should try. Well I walked past the house and I saw chef Marquise outside. I said Hi I found you on Yelp last night . And he said oh really well come by later for a free sample. Whoa.... I was in shock but I said ok I'm on my way out I'll stop by later. So I stopped by later in the evening and let me tell you all in the Yelp world.... it is a must try! I will place a cookie order once I see the menu he has available because he told me he likes to sell them fresh out of the oven... hot and ready.
