It is not just a place to drop your kids for a few hours, it is really well organized and structured, but in a natural and creative environment. My son is even learning Spanish and yoga! The class size is small, and the cost is very reasonable for the quality of the program. While we were playing, multiple people walked in and stood right beside us as the host kept going. A manager even came out to explain the experience to them while we were trying to hear our host. We played Family Feud for about 30 minutes, which felt at least 15 minutes too long. Our family still had fun, but that's because we enjoy games and can make anything entertaining at home. The setup itself felt very cheap. "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" lasted about 10 minutes with questions that didn't feel well thought out. "The Price Is Right" involved sorting Walgreens items into piles. Then we did flip‑cup tic‑tac‑toe on a fold‑out table with duct tape lines. The biggest issue is the host. I don't want to be rude, but he just wasn't very good, and that really matters in an experience like this. When I wasn't able to make a connection with her I panicked and started searching through Charleston Magazine for event/wedding planners and found The Event Cooperative. I called Maryann and from the moment I started sharing my story I knew everything was going to be fine. Maryann made herself available to meet with us right away, immediately contacted the vendors we had already secured and started making arrangements to fill in the holes we had left. She quickly picked up on what was important to the bride and groom and what they had envisioned for their big day. She communicated flawlessly with everyone involved and set the tone for a beautiful day. To top it all off we had a tropical storm headed to Charleston in the days leading up to the wedding, the grooms grandfather passed away within days of the wedding and the grooms mother was readmitted to ICU 5 days before the wedding. It's still hard for me to believe but I was never concerned about the wedding from the moment Maryann came in to the picture. The couple ended up having two ceremonies that weekend...one on Saturday in the ICU at Roper Hospital with just immediate family and one as originally planned on Mother's Day with all their guests. Maryann was amazing and her assistance allowed the bride and groom and the entire extended family to enjoy spending time together and celebrating their marriage even in the midst of some very difficult days. The Monday before my wedding I decided to check in with my vendors since Justin was so unreliable. When I called my rental company they told me not to panic but there was not an order placed under my name or Justin's for my wedding date. Let that sink in.... I had NO RENTALS (chairs, tables, napkins, etc) 5 days before my wedding was supposed to take place. After placing the order on my own, I called the linen rental company and they said they were about to cancel my order. They had been sending Justin invoices for two weeks with no response and thought we no longer needed all my tablecloths. The Monday before my wedding was the most stressful day of my life, spent replanning everything and double checking work that should have been done months in advance. He finally called me the next day but after much consideration, my family and I decided it would be best if Justin was not a part of my wedding day due to his failure to follow through with his contract. He agreed and told us he would offer a refund and meet with my parents before they left Charleston after the wedding. She explained we were so far along in the process and had booked so many of the main vendors that she wouldn't want us to waste our money - but she'd recommend her coordination services instead. She was available whenever we needed and even joined us for a few vendor meetings to ensure everything went smoothly.
