I've been cared for by health link in three phases and the first two were difficult, but the most…read morerecent one was worst. This last time I was admitted into care a specific physical therapist treated me like I was lying or making excuses for not being able to walk yet. I was still using my wheelchair, and I was barely able to walk across the street, or outside. I've had four surgeries on my legs, and before that, repairs failed, and before that, I had delayed care while the worldwide infection took place. I suffered significant muscle wasting the first two years and probably each time I suffered a setback in my recovery. I truly don't know why I'm still having difficulties with my mobility since 6 years ago, and it's not just my legs, it my whole body. With that being said, I was bullied and questioned the majority of the latest time with healthlink. Kenneth asked me why it's been six years and I still don't walk right. He repeated that I need to do my exercises, that I gotta do the rehab. That was his literal only concern. If you guys had the ability to monitor my activity 24 hours a day you'd have seen just how much exercise I have done. My body has changed shape since first getting admitted in 2023 and still so changes, I kept getting the third degree about my pt sessions. I did them all. I think the problem was, they didn't accurately assess my needs. They saw a non skinny person with major mobility issues and assumed that I was just fat and lazy, I say this because their main feedback was always, "lose weight" "move". I move daily, I've lost fat mass these last 6 years too and so their "concerns" landed very judgmentally, and very unhelpful, and very traumatizing. I still haven't taken a shower since the last time Healthlink came in to assist with a sponge bath, which was June or early June and I still can't go upstairs to shower. I have explained all the problems that I notice with my body, did all the work, did all the stuff recommended, and they seemed to not be satisfied. It's like they wanted my body progress on their time. I fully don't know what's happening. I don't know how much actual atrophy I have but standing in place makes me sweat no matter the weather, it can be cold cold, and the effort of standing still makes me sweat, because it is very difficult. If standing in place is difficult, just imagine how hard all the other stuff is? I told Kenneth, and Emily, and the female nurse who came, and all three never actually heard me out. They didn't ask me questions about my mobility, they didn't investigate why I might be having such a hard time. I did all the work assigned except for sit to stands, and those always made my knees feel like they were ripping apart. There were a lot of problems with my hands too, and the tissue damage I have is still there. I'm still using my brace, I still haven't returned to my normal weightlifting which was already not that much, I was exercising to the full limit daily and continue to do so even if the intensity is less than before while my hand issues heal. My case is difficult and I'm doing all I can to recover, and still so, these last three individuals treated me like I wasn't trying, like I was lying about my recovery, like I was lying about the efforts. I have been having flashbacks about the their lack of real effort to figure out how to go about my physical therapy. Shout out to the other two male physical therapists who did in fact give me very good feedback during my sessions with them, but sadly they don't work there anymore. I'm sad that the experience went from really great, to really bad, and the thing that made me write this is that I felt bullied despite giving it my all. I feel right now like my body is just barely ready to get back outside, because when I need to rest, my body feels like it's struggling to keep the body together, intact. It feels like my muscle structure is struggling to keep it's integrity. I got let down by the few individuals who decided I didn't even try. One of the latest nurses actually asked me in her words in a very demeaning and taunting tone, "well did you even try to go back to outpatient? Did you actually try to make it?" That's when I realized, these people don't believe I'm this delicate, they think I'm lying. I was so sad and hurt. It's just so low. Thanks for the good parts. The occupational therapists are very good, thanks Carrie for you assistance and insight. Thanks so very much for the good care and times at least. I just feel like you guys gotta train better and stop assumptions. I'm just very very disappointed.

The meeting went so well that we cancelled our other information meetings. As Director of Care Management, Victoria is superb at building rapport, assessing our needs, and communicating effectively. Our caregivers, Connie L., and Sophia De la C., are just plain wonderful. We knew we had a good team in place when our 96-yr-old Mom, who had fiercely resisted home care, is regularly laughing with Connie or Sophia, who are kind, energetic, and bring good ideas for engaging with Mom to the table. Our Mom regularly says "today was a good day" after her caregiving shifts. We know alot goes on behind the scenes to ensure good people are hired, trained and matched so well, so thanks to Karen R. too -- and especially so for responding so speedily to get us home care when we had a personal emergency, and couldn't leave Mom alone. For a business that is all about people, Home Instead runs a first-rate home care agency. Kudos.

After years being responsible for providing caregiving and establishing services for my mother and…read morenow my sister, who requires 24 hour care, I highly recommend CrossRoads for home care services. My sister was in an assisted nursing care facility for 6 months, and the thought of her continuing to reside in a similar environment was heartbreaking. While there, the numerous and almost monthly visits to the ER due to UTIs, inadequate doctor and care oversite, lack of consistent and timely drug and therapy services was truly unacceptable for her health. My sister is now living with my family in our home, and CrossRoads has allowed us to find an alternative path to her care along with using other support teams. From CrossRoads, we received scheduled physical, occupational and nursing services. Their exceptional services have allowed my sister to remain in a home environment and us to build a secure loving environment for her long-term care. I have used other home care services, and would consistently request for CrossRoads services. Her medical needs are addressed by a caring, effective, reliable, proactive and incredible staff at CrossRoads. I could not have asked for a better team to help with this unprecedented emotional and physical challenge my family has undertaken. Our physical therapist Jason, engages, motivates and physically prepares my sister for mobility and flexibility and encourages her to maintain and maximize her existing mobility. My sister enjoys their conversations. He is responsive, consistent and timely. We could not have asked for a better partner in providing the physical and emotional support my sister and my family require. He is simply the best and anyone would be lucky to have him on their team. I worked with Shanel, nurse and case manager, for both my mother's and sister's home care. She is incredibly responsive and experienced in addressing the medical needs that arise. She is proactive in recommending solutions and next steps, all of which provides assurance that as medical needs arise, they will be addressed immediately. Shanel de-escalates the stress and uncertainty surrounding medical situations. Shanel provides the confidence that home care is a viable and very workable situation in partnering with my sister's medical team. It's very obvious that Shanel enjoys her work and patients, and truly focuses on the customers' needs. When my sister arrived at our home, Sabrina, Occupational Therapist, immediately identified tools, equipment and recommendations that provided additional comfort to my sister and to our family and support caregivers in mitigating our physical demands. She was incredibly efficient and facilitated accommodating our needs immediately with her experience and resources. I feel our sister received the best care from Sabrina and CrossRoads in tailoring our home as effectively as possible in maximizing my sister's care. Equally important as the effective direct skills of the CrossRoads staff, is the intangible support they provide my sister and to us. We don't feel alone in caregiving, many times a heartbreaking process. We feel there is an incredible team available to support the care of my sister. My sister is engaged and enjoys interacting with the entire staff providing for good moments.

It was communicated enough to stop the in-home care services, so it could have been communicated to your sales team in hospice. It's not logical, so I'm left to assume it was just your business development tactic. Plus, the new organization we switched to (By the Bay Health with UCSF) called and notified you, as well as I told the nurse case manager, that's 2 very concrete confirmations that we were switching to another organization, so there's no reason you wouldn't have known. I also failed to mention that it took a week before an LVN or any of the providers came to see my mother after her hospital stay. I also had to call daily to find out when providers were going to come see her, as there was no communication and no sense of urgency to help her. The only reason they started to send people was because I kept calling. Also, the nurse case manager never even came to see my mother. She called to schedule a visit to my mother 2 weeks after her release from the hospital -- only after she heard we were going to switch to another organization and transition to hospice care. It was so unprofessional of her to call and try to do that after our new organization had notified you all that we were ending in-home care services and didn't want your hospice services either. You develop a bad reputation this way and people actively tell others not to use your services with this kind of service and these practices. I assure you that I and others who gave you poor reviews will spread that word.
