These folks did a great job binding my small-press poetry book. It came out perfectly--a fine experience. Highly recommended.

Before she had a chance to do so, the money was taken out of her account and they won't allow her to change her subscription! How is this legal to force someone to continue a subscription when they've repeatedly called to cancel the weekly deliveries? She is being charged for future papers even though she's tried to cancel the weekly ones. I'm urging her to cancel completely because this is unethical business.

I always received my newspaper and had no complaints; that is, until 11 days ago... My last newspaper to be delivered was on Monday 11/24/2014 - I have called into their delivery office 5 times now. 1 of the times (Wednesday 12/3) I was told there was a production problem and it would be back to normal delivery the next day. The other 4 times they apologized and informed me they would contact the delivery manager and have another paper re-delivered that same afternoon, which never happened. I would think as difficult as it is for West County Times to get hard-copy subscribers in this internet era, that they would have better delivery and better customer service, apparently not. I am very disappointed in how their service has deteriorated these last 2 weeks. The reason I gave them 2 stars instead of one is I had good delivery for a year and a half or so before it disappeared. :-(

"My dear Doctor, they're all true." "Even the lies?" "Especially the lies." In its broadsheet edition day, the Berkeley Daily Planet was both a great read and infuriating. I did not agree at all with their Israel, Marine Recruiting Office, and other "progressive" stances, and often found myself flinging down the paper in disgust. Yet, I couldn't wait to pick up the paper again and read some more, especially Becky O'Malley's "holy" opinions and the best letters section outside of the Anderson Valley Advertiser. Broad and sometimes contentious political debate within the Fourth Estate can be free speech at its best. "To hold a pen is to be at war" - Voltaire Unfortunately, thanks to narrow special interest boycott (of which one of the leaders has his say below), the economy, and some payroll service fraud thrown in, the Berkeley Daily Plant closed up their print edition and went on line. So image my delight when I recently picked up a Copy Mat "newsletter" edition of the Daily Planet. "Great Caesar's Ghost!" - Perry White I devoured the issue and was left wanting for more. So whether I agree with the content or not, I hope that the Daily Planet is on the way back, and mindful of the Joseph Pulitzer quote that "Newspapers should have no friends"

I'm a newbie to clay but my daughter is more experienced. I was just wandering around waiting for my daughter. The staff explained what everything was while I wandered. There is also a chair for those who want to settle in and read while they wait for someone to finish shopping. We got everything my daughter needed for a reasonable amount. I'm sure we'll be back.

Unfortunately my experience with an associate named Jess made the whole thing pretty miserable. When I explained I was new and needed help choosing clay, she would just stare at me blankly when I asked a question, like she was waiting for me to figure it out myself. It was incredibly frustrating to stand there and try to puzzle out what she wanted from me - a simple "what are you trying to make?" or "what look are you going for?" would have gone a long way. She cut me off mid-sentence more than once, and when she walked me over to the clay wall she made a spectacle of it - speaking loudly and drawing attention from the whole store. It felt less like help and more like being made an example of. I went back to the counter a second time and tried to ask more specific questions. Same thing. At one point I straight up said "I'm not trying to waste your time." She eventually pointed me to something, I bought it, and got out of there. I get that this place has a great reputation and I'm sure a lot of that is deserved. But walking in as a beginner and leaving feeling humiliated is not okay. If you're new to ceramics and need actual help, just hope you don't get Jess.
