My partner dropped her off and he asked that she not get the tattoo that is generally given with spay and neuters. (We made the same request for our two other dogs months prior with no problem!) when he went to pick up our dog she was given the tattoo. I was immediately extremely upset and distraught and immediately called them, the woman on the phone told me that we requested the tattoo, which is not the case. She did not apologize until I pointed out that they didn't even feel the need to apologize. The back and forth went on and I made it known I didn't feel as though they cared since they didn't take accountability for mishearing and continued to insist that we request the tattoo, and didn't even care to say "we are sorry" until I pointed the lack of apology out. I later spoke the manager, who didn't offer a sincere apology either. Which is mostly what I would have liked as I trusted them to care and listen the dogs owners (me and my partner) going into my dogs recovery from her spay she was not doing well. The incision was not healing properly we sent them pictures and they did not see it as anything too concerning. I opted to take her to a different vet to get her incision looked at, where they agreed it wasn't doing well and offered us many solutions for her to get better. Fast forward to months later now, I requested my dogs records so I could get them set up to update vaccines with a new veterinary clinic. And they had noted in the account, where they blatantly did not take responsibility and claimed I yelled. I did not yell I was distraught, worried and disappointed in the care my dog was given. They are my kids! The lack of accountability is and will continue to be my main concern here. I think that they can offer great care here, but hope they can learn to take accountability for their mistakes and understand the owners concerns instead of making a mockery of it.

I have been impressed with every single interaction we've had with the doctors, techs, and staff at Tickle-Blagg in every routine visit we've had. This last Thursday, though, we experienced a very scary emergency with one of our dogs, and I just can't express enough how wonderful our experience here was. They were flexible with our timing due to difficult circumstances, quick to see us in when we arrived, and Dr. Jordan was quick to come to the exam room. Every box was checked, from start to finish. They were kind, informational, patient, explanatory, and considerate. Even Dr. Blagg, who wasn't our doctor for this visit, came to see how our little dude was while we were there. I really could go on and on, but I think this paints the picture. What a wonderful place -- I'm so glad they're here!

Are you kidding me? She started berating us for getting the dogs teeth cleaned somewhere else. And then she was just very unpleasant to deal with the remainder of the visit. We will continue with this clinic but we refuse to have this horrible person in charge of our beloved pets health & care.

He was very insightful in telling me that while someone had been cruel to him, someone else had been kind to him. As it took 2 months for Babe to receive pets without flinching, I didn't bother looking for whoever abused him. Dr. Meyer taught me a lot about rehabilitating my skiddish stray into a loyal, happy dog. He was honest and supportive when I tried to rescue another stray who was not pregnant but suffering the latter stages of heart worms. Now with another dog found meandering the streets (whose owners claimed to have 'given her up 2 years ago') I'll be taking her to Dr. Meyer to help her get a healthier, happier life!

You might not read my long, emotional, personal story but it could become your story. Free speech includes opinions and reviews. No one should be punished for speaking out unless they are lying and why would I lie? This WONDERFUL vet clinic turned into a blackmail machine. MANY months ago I went in with my dog Karma (not knowing that Dr. Meyers was gone). Karma had horrible ear infections (again) and her "downstairs" was like bloody leather (AGAIN). I asked over and over to stop sending me home with my girl's ears full of medical "ear goop" and a lipstick-sized tube of "doggie neosporin." I then took her to Brykerwood's only to find that bacteria had eaten her eardrums and she would never hear again. Her entire body was infected with bacteria and she needed a medicated shampoo daily. As I shaved her I was disgusted with the white balls of strange bacteria attached to her skin and hair falling to the concrete. A week later she was like a puppy again. There is a reason I am updating and re-telling my story: I have a Great Dane that I took in for pre-op bloodwork necessary to put him under for surgery. His "visit" and flea/HW meds cost over $330. (They reimbursed me for $45 of that amount) About 9 days ago he (Odin) had a serious episode. I called Riverside Vet in desperation because bloat is deadly and he had all of the symptoms. Odin couldn't sit or lay down. His stomach was bigger than normal. His nose was dry and warm. Thomas answered. I begged them to see Odin. Thomas said they would call me right back to see when they could get him in. Thomas/they never did call me back. I had to turn to a emergency clinic. In a cosmic coincidence while tearfully waiting for that call I went to get the mail. There was a large vanilla envelope from Riverside Vet with a cover letter saying that "care was based on trust." And then, in very long and rambling paragraphs it said that I gave them a bad review in the past on Yelp and... "we have canceled all of your upcoming appts" (including Odin's surgery that I had to plan for 6 weeks in advance) and promising to reimburse me for Odin's bloodwork. All and all getting Odin seen at an emergency clinic cost me over $650 + $598 the very next day for a "follow-up" because I no longer had a vet. At least Odin is still alive. Karma is not.

It was a little while ago that I wrote a really great post for this amazing veterinary group. The…read moreonly reason we had left was because it's hard to manage prescriptions when you have more than one dog that needs prescriptions It was very confusing. What I wanted everyone to know is that about less than eight weeks later we returned we felt so good to be home amongst family because that's what these guys are. They're not just some people that take care of your dogs. They become your family. They look out for you and your pets. With all their heart, they love each and every patient that comes in. They are treated with respect and such loving care. I now know why the Lord directed us back besides the fact that we miss them. It was because our seven year-old Doberman Zeus was going to pass unbeknownst to us. He was coughing all night and it was just clear fluid and he was bringing up so I know it wasn't his stomach. I figured it was his heart cause I have 26 years of medical training. We got to the vet ASAP first thing in the morning. They were waiting for us immediately took Zeus in and the doctor came in within five minutes. His name is Dr Raines, and he is truly exceptional among his peers. he listened to his chest and within seconds he's like somethings not right. I gotta take him to x-ray his heart. So he did that and he also I believe did a sonogram as well. He came back 10 minutes later with the look on his face and I already knew I knew it I had ventured in my thoughts that it was DCM. And of course, it was confirmed it was DCM. But he had never had any cardiac problems before, and he was seen by the vet at least twice every six months just for follow ups. It was hard for me because my husband left me to go to a special meeting session with his company and he was three hours away. I am disabled and use a walker. When all of this started happening, the wheels in my mind started to spin a hour. I was gonna do this by myself. We have a 800 foot driveway. anyway, I called my husband to let him know. I walked with the walker down a steep driveway and managed to get in the truck with no problem. I then drove the truck up to the front door because I cannot walk so I am not strong enough. And as soon as I open the door, he jumped right in he was whining, but sometimes he does that in the car. I called the Vet ahead of time and let them know please come out and get him for me and I'll follow them. Reason being I cannot walk Zeus he's 110 pounds of muscle. so like I said they were waiting for us they did the testing we knew the diagnosis. Despite all their efforts and medications trying to get his heart rate to go down, it would not. Two hours later when I got there, my husband had made it and beat me to it. I thank God he did. because what I saw was a dog in agony not the dog that I dropped off. It was within three hours that we got there that we must and had to put him down. Reason being the vet said he's not gonna make it through the day and his heart's gonna give out going into cardiac arrest. It's an excruciating death and I said no then we're not waiting any longer. Let's put the poor baby down. My husband laid behind him on the floor I laid in front of him on the floor, our arms wrapped around him as one just telling him how much we love him and thank you for all that he did. He was also my service dog. I have never had such a close relationship with any other dog except another Doberman that we had that past name Apollo. And I'm really sorry for the long post here, but I want everyone to know how they all came in cause they all loved him one at a time to say goodbye to him, and even Dr. Raines had a tear of running down his face. You see, he was a true gentle giant, and he loved all people he would put his head on the vets lap while he would talk to us. He will never be forgotten and thanks to the kindness of this veterinarian Group. Everything went perfect. He never woke up. Nothing happened that wasn't expected. It takes experience to know how to euthanize correctly. He gave him propofol and after he was passed out that's when he got the second shot. This was on November 11 and then I'm sorry it took so long to put this year but my husband and I are world is still falling apart a little bit more each day. So sorry that I we waited to write this. I want all of you at Firehouse Vet to know how outstanding each and every one of you is you are an exceptional team and you're so loving and it's true love it's not fake to our animals. I think you all for being supportive of us during this time and your beautiful card that you sent. I think I'll stop here because I know this is too long for most people to read. I just had to give them our gratitude. God bless you all.
