The scheduler I was dealing with learned of an issue in my life that was severely impacting my ability to function. When I told her the situation, she treated me as if she had known me for years, instead of having just met me. That's rare these days in my opinion. Imagine my surprise when I received a card about 2 weeks later signed by about a dozen people in the practice! If I am given that level of service and support during and after my procedure, a 5 star review won't even come close- go higher!

I went back to the endodontist who performed the root canal and, after spending a few hundred dollars on a 3D xray, he couldn't see anything wrong with the root canal. He recommended I see Dr. Wood. I had to wait a month for an appointment and, about a week before the appointment date, I noticed that the fistula was gone and the pain had dissipated. I called the AZMOS office and spoke with a new patient rep who encouraged me to keep the appointment because Dr Wood would be able to diagnose the problem. The office was very crowded and felt chaotic. When I was finally called into the exam room, the first thing I was asked was whether I wanted to be put out for my procedure. I was only there for a consultation. I was not impressed with the staff or the way patients were handled. After having two more X-rays taken (they said they couldn't read the X-rays that the endodontist had taken), Dr. Wood couldn't figure out what was wrong. He didn't push me into anything, which I appreciated. I returned to the waiting room and had to wait again. I did not have insurance and had to pay out of pocket. One of the receptionists told me my total and charged my credit card. About a month later, I got a bill for an additional charge. When I spoke with someone from the billing department, she told me that they had made a mistake and hadn't charged me enough. She didn't apologize and was pretty rude. After not getting any diagnosis or closure with my problem, the extra charge was upsetting. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. No one filled me with confidence and they don't seem to believe in treating their patients with respect. It's all about the money.

I was in some awful pain with a tooth and did not have anyone to trust. I had seen other biological dentists and without going into details lost trust and was very scared. I called made an appointment ......traveling from the valley, we live in east Mesa. At this appointment I was first impressed with her assistant. Very thoughtful, thorough, detailed questions she asked. I felt cared for and validated. Then Dr. Krizman came in. She is calm and like I said she has great energy I immediately knew I was in the right place. Dr. Stuart Nunnally of Marble Falls Texas office helped me pick her. That right there is a testimony to the quality of person and professional she is. After testing it was determined that I had a dying back molar. Tooth number 15 was in need of a root canal (which I would NEVER do) or needed to be extracted. While she gives you your options her office does not do root canals. This is Tuesday now mind you I leave in 13 days to take my 4 grandchildren to Disneyland by myself. I was not wanting it to do it while taking pain medicine from a tooth that was a zinger causing excruciating pain. She makes an appointment for me that Thursday to have the extraction. That would give me 10 days to heal. I'm so grateful......no words can express how much. I hope this review expresses how much I am! The extraction was easy, painless and I did not swell AT ALL. I had such awful experiences before this is a whole new game changing experience for me. Thank you! I went back today to get the stitches out and just like before it was great. I am scheduled to do some therapy in a cavitation site that did respond well to 2 very invasive surgery's. I'm hopeful that her knowledge and expertise can make that successful as well. Thank you Dr. Krizman. Your worth every MILE! Denise Lang

I know a LOT about what makes a good dentist. Simply put, Dr. Carlos Benavides is the best. And his staff members are all amazing too. I first saw him in December for an emergency crown on a tooth I had busted by accidentally chomping on an uncooked popcorn kernel. I had just moved full-time to Tucson and was in the process of getting established with new medical providers. I had a first appointment set with another practice but they could not see me for my emergency for a week. Buena Vida took me right in. Dr. Benavides did the full job in 90 minutes. There was no pain during the procedure, nor after, which has been common with every other crown I have had. Fantastic! I canceled my appointment with the other practice and signed up with Buena Vida. About a month later, I had the great pleasure of being seen by Buena Vida dental hygienist Brittany Engle. She did a wonderful job, giving me a lot of great input about my dental health as she performed a painless and efficient cleaning. I was back this week for a bonding job on my two front teeth, which have had minor but unattractive chips for a while. In about an hour, Dr. Benavides and his assistant (whose name, I am sorry to say, I did not get) turned them into what look like brand new, perfect, natural teeth by applying a little composite and a LOT of skill. I was shocked when they handed me the mirror. I expected the teeth to look better, but nothing like this. Dr. Benavides is very gentle, confident, relaxed and humble. I have never been treated by a medical professional who seems as genuinely happy as he does to treat his patients. He hums along with the songs on his office's great playlist as he drills. Maybe others wouldn't approve, but I find it cool. Also, Buena Vida's membership plan offers very attractive pricing. His front-office folks are just as helpful and nice as the treatment staff. Major kudos to Dr. Benavides and his whole team!

My dental condition became so severe that my lower jaw started hurting and the adjacent cheek became very swollen. I was unable to eat or swallow without pain. My husband called several dental offices in the area and his calls were unanswered (these were "dental emergency" phone numbers) until Zoe answered the phone. At first, they were not able to see me, but then she called again and told us they had a cancellation that afternoon (on a Saturday). Dr. Nguyen told me I needed to have the tooth pulled at that time, but my BP was very high. Was told to go back on Monday when my blood pressure stabilized and had the deed done! Dr. Nguyen was very knowledgeable and kind. I was terrified being in a dental chair with my mouth open, hearing the scraping sound of metal against bone. Zoey helped by rubbing my shoulder during the procedure and Dr. Nguyen would stop and inject more pain medication whenever I winced. Opted to have a bone graft for a future dental implant. Diana at the front office was also very pleasant and even remembered my name when I came back to have the stitches removed. So grateful to have found La Cholla Dental!
