I took a book with me. I was there about 20-30 minutes when they took me in for some tests and was told I need a root canal. Dr. Pena said he could do it later that afternoon if I wanted to wait and I did. Later they took me back and he gave me shots to numb the area. It hurt so he gave me a shot in the tooth which totally numbed it and when he finished the pain was gone except for a mild ache if I tapped the tooth. Everyone at the office were pleasant and helpful. Dr. Pena was considerate and caring. Being able to get in quickly and get the problem resolved was really wonderful and very much appreciated.

Great experience as a new patient !…read more I was seen at the Oracle office for an emergency procedure that was referred by my primary care DDS. Dr. Keippel and his staff were very accommodating and reassuring, and the procedure was explained to me in advance and every step along the way. The facility even stayed open after hours to make sure that I was taken care of and comfortable. Sure, it wasn't under the best circumstances that my first visit to Southern Arizona Endodontics occurred, but I am in NO pain today and am 100% confident if I ever need this specialized treatment again I know where to go. I have looked at the reviews, and I always pause when a person leaves a negative review and there is no picture or just a few reviews...one every year or so. I am not saying it is not valid.....it just makes me pause. Same for excellent reviews with no picture and one or two reviews. Hmmmmm........ I digress.... So....this is MY review based on a LONG history having gone here. The staff has ALWAYS been pleasant and helpful. I work with people all day, I get it....so I always try to be nice. I was in a LOT of pain when I got there, and waited quite a while (but I was seen same day for an emergency). The doctor took me back and did several tests to see what tooth it was. Once it was confirmed, he said we will do the root canal now. ((YAY))!! The needles in the roof of my mouth ALWAYS hurt me so much, but the doctor was so patient. I got all numbed up.....and it began. Apparently I had dead and decaying nerves, and that explained the pain, fever, and other unpleasant symptoms I was having. Seriously....I was in a LOT of pain. I am so blessed to have no more pain, no more temperature...and may I give a special thank you to Dr Smith....who loves and supports animal rescue...and has such an authentic presence. It first started with an overcharge for an evaluation. The moment insurance caught wind, the account had a credit. Secondly, my husband received multiple calls and texts to "confirm" his appearance at the appointment. These all requested for us to arrive "early" for the scheduled and confirmed appointment. We show up on-time for the appointment, check in with front desk. They accept payment and tell him to sit. Actual appointment time comes and goes.. it's is now 45 minutes AFTER scheduled appt. Ask how much longer & then inform it will be another 15-20 minutes!!! Understand they did not called back for the treatment until a HOUR after the scheduled appointment. No one said at any point that the staff was running so far behind. When we checked a simple "treatment time is running xx amount of time behind" would have easily gone from 0 stars to atleast 2-3.. just based off communication!!! I am recommending that our regular dentist avoid referring any patients to this location. They incorrectly overcharge for treatment and then make you wait for ridiculous amount of time before treatment. They shouldn't request early arrival if they can't hold up their end of the bargain and begin work promptly for a scheduled appointment. Disappointing service especially when staff was pleasant.

About four people knew exactly what I was getting done and how much I paid for it before I even sat down in their lobby that day. Rude surgeon... The surgeon showed up for the last 3 minutes of the one hour consultation appointment I had waited months for. As soon as I expressed my fear about proceeding with surgery, he dismissed me entirely. I asked if this biopsy would be anything like a different biopsy I had in the past, he ignored me and asked if I had "diabetes or something". I never got answers and I can't imagine trusting someone like that with a procedue involving full anesthesia. Poor communication... After calling twice to make sure the insurance had gone through and the account was paid up, I was reassured I had no balance. Until I received a text notice months later about an overdue balance. I received no calls, no emails, nothing at all to indicate that I had a balance. When I called about this, they informed me that they had known about it for over a month, but that I now have 30 days to pay it. I won't ever be going back.
