Kauai's best Lilikoi Pie
Al S.

The sweetest women work here, serving up the best Lilikoi Pie on Kauai! The feathery and airy texture of this pie filling feels like you are eating a cloud, or a dream, or the cloud of dreams .... then you taste the delightful flavor of Lilikoi ever so lightly, not overpowering or too sweet, just right. Support this amazing local business! They have been here for 50+ years so they know what they're doing!

COVID-era dine-in experience Wong's Omoide is retro at its finest. There were random tourists coming by for pie, an old couple who wanted saimin, and me who wanted to make a plate from the various options served on the hot bar. I love being able to see everything to choose from - this spot really meshes Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino comfort dishes. I ordered a two-choice plate with tasty fried rice, a very Japanese version of Chinese oyster sauce chicken, and delicate sauce-free egg foo young studded with fresh bean sprouts and other chopped veggies. A bottle of Diet Pepsi and slice of lilikoi chiffon pie from the fridge accompanied me back to town. This spot is special to West Kauai people. It's an institution. I was happy to see that little had changed, the food was just as good as always, and that the mix of the customers and workers was so diverse, colorful, and friendly. Come hungry and bring a shopping bag to fill with other baked treats. Love this place!

I love Lilikoi (passion fruit) and I love pies. So when traveling back from Poipu and we saw the sign for "Kauai's Best Lilikoi Pies", we just had to stop for a piece. For me, like Jello, there's always room for pies.Upon entering you see the cash register and a lady to your left. Right next to her are some Manapuas in a plastic container. I got a couple of those in addition to the lilikoi pie. I like something salty with something sweet, gives good contrast. Well, after taking a bite I had to say it was about average. It actually didn't taste home-made for me. Crust wasn't crispy and the lilikoi taste wasn't strong enough. It almost tasted like something from the supermarket bakery. However, the manapuas were pretty good but not out of this world. This place is next to Wong's Chinese in Hanapepe if you can't find it.

Great selection, friendly staff, ample parking and food is so Ono! It is a bit more expensive than other similar restaurants.
