I was in need of all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. From the time I set up my appointment to the day of my removal, it was only a week! I did not have to wait long at all. Leading up to surgery, I had constant text reminders going over payment estimates, and steps to take before surgery which I found extremely helpful. When I went in for surgery, I waited no longer than 10 minutes to go back for my X-rays and consultation. When I had had questions about finances, they were extremely kind and patient and walked me through exact costs of everything and what my insurance would and wouldn't cover. Dr. Blair Racker was my oral surgeon and did a phenomenal job of answering all my questions and all around was a nice guy. After surgery I was sent home with a big goody bag of aftercare items and instructions. I was in and out in less than an hour and a half from check in to leaving surgery. I am now 10 hours post wisdom teeth removal at the time of writing this, with virtually no pain and extreme satisfaction with my care! read more

I got pre-approval from my insurance and paid my portion before the procedure. Come to find out even though the practice is preferred, several surgeons within the practice are not. Very odd. Fought with insurance and eventually got them to pay all of their share and even most of mine. I had a refund due of $121.50. Not only did the practice not notify me for 2 months, they tried to tell me I owed them an additional $121.50. Finally got them and insurance on the line and got them to refund to my original credit card used. Next day Omaha Oral Surgery calls me and says they didn't process the refund and "the check's in the mail and maybe you'll get it in about 15 days". Horrible way to do business. Cash flow issues? Care is vary good with Dr Racker. Billing is not so much. They want their money up front, but they are very delinquent and slow refunding money if insurance coverage and up front payment exceeds what is owed. Itemized invoices for their charges are not provided unless demanded. It is an unnecessary hassle if you can get what is owed to you at all. They owe me $1700+, and they want a prepayment for a follow-up visit while they "look into it," regardless of the insurance documentation provided. read more

Dr Shadel and staff were great on their work. My frustration is with their billing and claims. When the procedure began in December, I paid what I was told was the amount for everything -- all work and visits. I've now had to pay an additional bill. NO ONE is responding to my requests for information. I was told during my last visit someone would get back to me -- they haven't. I am a repeat customer and this time my son was getting his wisdom teeth pulled. Unlike my first experience there with my older daughter, I had to pay $700 upfront for the surgery. I didn't question that as most procedures need payment ahead of time. Over 6 months later, I am still dealing with them on a refund as BOTH of my insurance companies covered the procedure. My dental insurance has been seeking reimbursement as well from Omaha Oral Surgery. It was only by coincidence that I even learned that both insurance companies paid in full as one of their employees told me. This is essentially stealing when they have been paid three times and still no refund to me or my dental insurance. I have called every month and I know they are tired of talking to me but this is MY money. Do not go there as you will not get help if you overpay! read more

Had my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Pruitt. He is the absolute worst doctor I have ever encountered. He didn't even tell me i was a high risk patient with my nerve being so close to the tooth. Neither him or my original doctor disclosed that informarion up front so i coild male a better informed decision on how to proceed. A week later I was got diagnosed with dry socket (which was incorrect because of his lack of patient care), my face got infected and he had to reopen my wound with a second surgery to clear the infection. I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to get my finger in it and had constant shooting pain through all my teeth nerve endings. His team did my check ups, not him. He told me I was fine to fly after surgery. My wound would not clot. I bled profusely for two days. I bled so much I filled three coffee cups up with blood on the plane and the staff made me see the emt aboard to be sure I was ok. Dr. Pruitt only paid attention to my pain and concern when my dentist called him as I went to him for help. He was extremely unprofessional and treated me as if I was a nuisance. Instead of addressing the problem and listening to my concern, he convinced himself he was correct with his diagnoses and never further investigated. He didn't even look in my mouth when I came in to explain my pain. He apologized that his front desk did not relay my level of pain to him and blamed it on them being new. I was then referred to another oral surgeon by my dentist who explained to me that I had nerve damage in my face and Dr. Pruitt didn't even have any notes on me as to what he was doing during his second surgey. Absolutely unacceptable and 9 months later I am still dealing with nerve damage and the repercussions of his fantastic dental work. Wish you would have cared more and hopefully you actually listen to your clients needs in the future. read more

I was forced to pay up front before I could even sit in a chair. I had a tooth pulled and was overcharged about $184.00. It took 41 days to get my money back without interest. Large insurance companies withhold claims payments from mortgage companies as long as possible and collect interest money on this fund which amounts to thousands of dollars in interest. The companies are paying down operating expenses with the policyholders money. It would appear if Omaha Oral Surgery is overcharging and holding refunds they are working on their clients' money many of which are on fixed incomes and pensions. I will knock a tooth out with an ice skate before I ever get fooled into paying up front again. I plan on posting this other places to help others !! read more

Update, Oral Surgeon made it right. The doctor and staff there are amazing!! They seemed to really care about patient not about the money, unlike my dentist. I understand that businesses not telling you about all the fees up front if just the way it some ways sometimes. But it is totally unacceptable that when someone shells out $3000 for an implant and was told that covers it all, but when it is time to finally the get the crown put on now remember another $1500! I don't understand how the initial fee covers the implant and the crown but does not cover the piece the attaches the crown to the implant! So now I have an implant and a tooth, but now unless I pay another $1500 I can't actually attach the crown to my implant! I also don't understand how the important part is overlooked and never mentioned! I have seen both the Oral Surgeon and Dentist before the implant, after the implant was placed and right before the crown is to be attached and no one ever mentions this additional piece needed. The Oral Surgeon says my dentist should have told me about the additional fees and the dentsit says the Oral Surgeon should have done the additional piece. All they care about is pointing fingers at eachother and not actually about the patient. Cause now after all this time and money I can't actually get my crown! read more

In November my dentist told me I needed to get my wisdom tooth pulled. I was referred to Omaha oral surgery. I called and set up my appointment for mid-January. Told them I was aware they are not in my network and would like to know what my portion to pay would be ASAP as you pay before your procedure. They told me it would be no issue they'd let me know. About 10 days before my procedure I got a call telling me what my part to pay was and they gave me the run down of don't eat, have a driver afterwards, and so on. Two days before I got a reminder call to not eat and make sure I have a driver. Told me beginning to end it would take about two hours. The day of comes. The waiting room has water and coffee, a toy area for kids and a large tv. The waiting room is a nice size and was great for my small kids to have plenty of room to move without bothering others. I go back and do my evaluation. Meet dr McCabe who will be doing the extraction. I was there to have one wisdom tooth pulled. He went over the benefits of having my other wisdom tooth pulled while I was already there even though I told him I would deal with it later. Then he said the magic words... insurance is already paying for one tooth and you will pay your portion twice if you have to come back. If you do both today you only recover once and don't have to worry about issues in the future. So I ended up having both wisdom teeth pulled.. eh. Wake up from my nap in recovery and they're going over recovery stuff with my husband. Hand him my recovery box (and prescriptions) and wheel me out to the car. Got a call later that night from dr McCabe asking how I was doing. Told me to call him back if I had any issues. Somebody should have told me to stay off my feet for awhile though. I over did it the next day (two small kids) and felt miserable. After insurance was billed (mid-February) they paid more than Omaha oral surgery was quoted, so I had overpaid. At the end of the month is when they do the books because I was issued a refund on the last day of the month and had my refund check in the mail a couple days later. Overall my experience was great. Our 16 year old son had his 4 wisdom teeth removed. The dental assistant told us to park in the spot closest to the exit and she would wait for us and wheel him out. However it hadn't been 5 minutes and she didn't wait for us before she wheeled him over to the vehicle before we had a chance to move it. I was a little upset because it was cold outside and he didn't have a coat on yet. Which we though was very impatient. We also received no follow-up call to see how he was doing in the days following which was pretty unusual after any surgery. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is the ladies up front went out of their way to accommodate us during our wait. read more

I highly recommend going to see Dr. Pruitt! He did such a fantastic job! I was only wanting to get two teeth pulled because of financial issues but he recommend that I get all 4 pulled and he would do what ever it takes so it fits in my budget. So I ended up getting all 4 pulled for a great price! I was very happy. The rest of the staff there was also very friendly and they made me feel really comfortable. I was obviously very scared as I've never even broken a bone, let alone been under anesthesia. They worked with my insurance (delta) to get the price very reasonable. They offer free coffee and bottled water from a fridge! Painless, seamless, and I felt well educated and prepared when I left the office. The dentist doesn't have to be scary, and Dr. Pruitt is exactly the reason why. He is very well qualified and answered all of my questions. He asked me to open my mouth and knew exactly what it was going to take within seconds. They put a lot of thought in their patients when constructing and decorating this brand new, state of the art facilities. Holy molar ! Went in super fearful ...had to have 4 wisdom teeth & 2 extra bad teeth extracted . Didn't have them put me under ...only novocaine & laughing gas . Dr. Chase Pruitt did it. Only lasted like 30 minutes . Super nice young doctor who was quietly humming to the music while he was working (nice calming effect ! Lol). I seriously had no discomfort or pain during this !! Only felt pressure . The most painful thing was getting the novocaine shots ! This guy is top notch ! I thought it was going to be the worst day of my life but this was a breeze ! If you need teeth taken out, GO HERE! I can't stand going to the dentist, but this was the best experience of my life in regard to doctors !!! I wish I could have seen the doctor after my procedure to give him a huge hug! I currently don't have insurance due to being between jobs & I did get a discount & the price was not bad at all!! I had a tooth pulled and an implant put in. The staff at reception were very kind and efficient. The lobby was clean and had lots of room. The office notified me prior to my appointment date that payment was due at the time of service. They were able to take care of all of my insurance claims without issue. I was taken back for scans and x-rays and then was taken back to the consultation room where the procedure was thoroughly explained to me. The surgeon was very knowledgeable and quickly eased my mind as he answered all of my questions. I was taken to a procedure room where the assistants had set up the equipment (room was very clean). The procedure was confirmed and I signed my consent forms. The assistants were very informative and seemed to be well trained and had a great bed side manner. The surgeon came in and checked with me and I was then quickly put to sleep (I had sedation) and awoke with no pain or discomfort. The next day I still had no pain. I also received a call from my surgeon the day after the procedure asking me how I felt, if I had any issues, and if I needed anything. That was a great surprise to have this type of attention to detail and follow-up. I was sent home with a care package that contained extra gauze, gloves, ice packs, ice cream, detailed instructions on how to care for my implant and some additional information that I found very helpful. It was so worth the trip from Houston Texas to go to this office. I would recommend anyone in the area that is nervous about having any procedures done go to this office because they really cared about me as a patient. read more

I had a terrible experience coming here for my Wisdom Teeth Extraction. I was not told when I was getting the sedation medicine. I have never been sedated, so I had no idea I would wake up in a different room. I also was not told that I would be waking up in a different room. I had a bad reaction to the sedation, and I woke up freaking out and crying. I told them that I only wanted my driver to come to the room. They refused to let my driver come to the room (Although my friend had her wisdom teeth extracted the week before, and her driver was waiting in the room for her to wake up). They threatened me and told me I was not allowed to see my driver until I stopped crying. I was crying and hyperventilating; they finally allowed my driver to come back to the room after about 20 minutes of this distress. When my driver came to the room, I told the doctor that my mouth was hurting and he yelled at me telling me it did not hurt and left the room. Overall, this was a terrible experience. My driver was also surprised at the way I was being treated. You do not yell at someone who is confused, in pain, and very upset. I will never recommend this place to anyone. The only reason I gave one star is because Kaitlyn (the person who set me up in the surgical room) was fantastic and made me feel very comfortable. If she was not there, and I could, I would have given this place 0 stars. read more
