Wish version of core power, definitely the worst class of my life as a person who loves yoga

I love this studio. Welcoming community, great classes and an awesome location. There are several amazing teachers and a nice schedule.

LOVE this place, I only went for a month as I had a client in the area which I was working with for a project and since I was there for a couple of months I stopped in to inquire only to be told that there was a special for $50 and unlimited yoga for 30days. That is SWEET!! I was able to take ANY and EVERY class for only $50 I think I went about 40 times. The staff is very professional, fun and educated on the art of Yoga. I really like this place and plan to get back there as I am on another side of town now working. read more

I just started coming to this studio and I love it. I admit I've only done the hot yoga classes, but its so unique compared to any other yoga experience. No mirrors, not sweat till you die, just a comfortable sweat. Relaxing instructors that make you feel like private trainers as they adjust your style in the smaller classes. I love that I am not sweating with 70 people in a warehouse like my old Hot Yoga place in Chicago. Om yoga is more personalized. They have a big fabulous painting of a tree that is relaxing and soothing with sun rays in the center of the room. Best part....wait for it....eucalyptus scented cold wash-clothes at the end that give it a spa - like touch. Whats not to love? read more

I always feel welcome here. I love the class selection and the teachers. There really is a class for everyone.

My heart will always go to Y2 yoga but OM yoga comes in second. They're different from other yoga places in that they don't have mirrors so that you won't be able to care about how you look. Personally, I like mirrors because it allows me to modify my poses and beautify it. They have one large room that fills (I think) 25-30 people. Two windows and a large picture in front of the room. Truthfully when I first came to this studio I wasn't impressed. After a few classes, you start to pick out the teachers you like and they make the experience much more enjoyable. My favorite teachers are Maria, Stacy and Sherri. If you're new to the studio, try classes with those teachers. They are better indicators of what the studio is about (both spiritually and physically rewarding). I love to sweat and I love a good workout. But yoga is also about the spiritual side. Each class starts off with a 2-5min reflection "speech" by the teachers. They're very enjoyable if you close your eyes and listen to what they have to say. You'll be surprised by some of things they say (in a good way). I learned a lot from those classes. They have a new student discount: unlimited month for 55.00 dollars! The only way to fully try out a studio is try it out for a month or else it's just like hitting the lottery. read more

The best class I've ever taken. Sadly I was only visiting from NY but I wish I lived here because Ryan's yoga class was so well rounded. My muscles were never cold moving into poses which I really appreciated. He had a great vibe about him non-competitive and a deep understanding of consciousness and a practice of love. I came away from the class feeling physically challenged and spiritually charged and challenged. It really deepened my yoga practice. Overall a very unique experience I'm sad to leave and want others to know about. read more

Great studio, friendly instructors, relaxing space. Highly recommend the pre/post-natal class.

Studio is clean and sunny -- not the type of place with students packed in (hate that!). Instructors and owners give lots of personalized attention. I'd only been there a couple times, and they knew my name when I walked in the door. I thought that was pretty cool. :) Also -- my kids are learning yoga, and they are very supportive and great with teaching them. Love the inspired, positive energy I get from going to this studio. read more

How nice. Om has changed their policies since my last review, which was quite some time ago. They apologized to me for not extending my package due to an illness and asked me back with a credit. Omazing! I was in town for a visit, but if I lived in town Om Yoga would be my yoga studio. The receptionist, Maria was very welcoming and my instructor guided the class through challenging sequences while giving options for participants to work at their own level. I have taken yoga here since it opened. The teachers do a good job. I especially like the owner Maria's classes although she frequently admonishes me to smile more. Hey, I'm not as bendy as I used to be! Seriously, nice facility, nice people. Right next to Starbucks so you can grab a coffee after, although I prefer Dunkin'. I travel for a living and have taken classes all over and this place is as good as any out there. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the reception area is a bit small. That's not unusual for yoga studios and with the following OM has and it's growing clientele I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually expand their facility. I would recommend visiting whether you're checking yoga out for the first time or are a seasoned yogi or yogini. read more

I've been taking classes at OM for about two weeks now, and I LOVE IT!!!! April Cannon is the greatest, she will really test you to your limits and not let your ego have any time to tell you that you can't go on. Michelle is really sweet and knows just what to say to get you to try just a little bit harder. All of the girls that have taught me so far at OM bring their own style, energy, and wisdom to each of their classes and I'm learning so much; especially that it's not a competition in yoga, no one cares how bendy or balanced you are but you. All that matters is that you took time out for yourself and you tried. I really love this place!!! read more

I've been to many different yoga studios in the Charlotte area, and this is my favorite studio. The owner Maria is wonderful. She gives amazing classes herself, and she hires only the best teachers. There is not one teacher at this studio that I would consider less than excellent. The workouts that I got at this studio were the best that I've gotten from a yoga studio in Charlotte. But they also talk about what yoga means, tell you to pick an intention, give you inspiring messages, etc. I grew so much with this studio, and I'm so grateful for it. read more

Maria and staff are well-trained at getting you 'in the zone' for some good yoga! I've been a fan since she opened 3 years ago. Maria stays very grounded but at the same time encourages you to go further, deeper and stronger in the practice to get your body into shape and keep it that way for many years. read more

Om Yoga studio is exactly what I love to walk into when I practice. Maria, the owner and all of the teachers and staff at Om Yoga, are full of positive energy. The studio is incredibly clean, simple and bright with all the amenities and more. I have been practicing for over 10 years now and recently moved to NC/SC from California and thought it would be hard to find a place to match up to my home studio, but I was wrong. Om Yoga is absolutely wonderful for beginners and those who have been practicing for a while. There is always a good challenging class, but you can make that same class custom to what you are feeling, that's yoga for ya :) There is not a competitive vibe there at all, just people who are there to practice their practice and learn. Went to my first class tonight and had an amazing experience! My teacher was Devon and it was her first time teaching a class, but you'd never know! She was fantastic and I left feeling amazing. Also, I did have to leave the class for a few minutes due to my anxiety issues and one of the teachers sat with me and not only made sure I was okay, but talked to me about other class options which might work better for my skill level and my anxiety. The classes are good, as far as being challenging. however the hot class I took gave no explanation of the poses as you flowed through the movements. Luckily I was really into yoga several years back, if not I would have been totally lost. Definitely not a class for beginners. I also did not get any help with positioning. I mean, maybe my execution was flawless but I don't believe that could be the case. I have to agree with the other rating as well. In relation to the strict business practices. I won't go into the long story about that, but have had a similar experience. The studio is nice, and convenient... but IMO just not warm at all. I went back after a long time of not going and I instantly remembered why I stopped going. In my experience they are just not friendly to new comers. Everything was very transactional. Not "how are you? I don't believe we've met." or "welcome back, it's been a while, good to see you". Literally, the only communication I had with ANYONE was the girl who took my money for the drop in fee. Just seems to directly contradict the inclusive, inviting, warm feeling I think yoga is supposed to embody. I'm there for the work out so I will probably go back again, but it does not draw me in and make me feel welcome at all. read more
