For a couple of years prior, she had been in other assisted living facilities more like apartment living, where she was isolated and alone, never knowing who would deliver meals or tend to her needs. At Northgate Senior Care, the staff lives onsite, and they are wonderful. In the 8 months she's been there, we've seen her kind of come out of her shell. She eats with others in the home, attends activities like music therapy sing-alongs, and is very happy with the caregivers. They take such amazing care of all the residents. The facility is very welcoming, always super clean, and it always smells like home-cooking! The caregivers are attentive, ready, and willing to do whatever is needed, and they do it with a happy attitude and smiles on their faces. We appreciate them so much for taking such great care of our mom. We feel very fortunate to have found this beautiful home for our mom to live out her life. He was going to another daycare prior, which seemed fine at the time, but we didn't know what we were missing until he started here. The teachers are amazing- he has Emma and Alyce right now- and they plan specific activities every day that encourage learning, positive development, and socialization. The kids learn things that prepare them for school, like the ABC's, numbers, colors, and shapes. They also learn potty training, hand washing, cleaning up after themselves, and dressing themselves. There's also plenty of art/ craft time and free play. His classroom has a yoga teacher that comes occasionally as well as a Spanish teacher. The facility has a great outdoor play yard and the kids get outside twice a day. Our son is so excited to go to daycare and hugs his teachers when he sees them. The last place he would cry when I dropped him off, which I thought was normal, but now realize he didn't get the same attention there as he does here. My husband and I get email updates nearly every day telling us what went on in his class that day and they often send photos and pointers with how to deal with certain situations at home (potty training, toddlers that hit, etc.) which is amazing. NOTE: Since I wrote this review I started my younger son in the infant classroom and I don't get those update so it's just Emma and Alyce who do this. Hopefully in the future other teachers will do this too. Another perk about this place is the numerous family activities that are available for the parents and kids. There have been dinner gatherings, family yoga classes, a family day at the zoo, an early literacy workshop, as well as a few "parents night out" where they will watch your child in the evenings for a donation to the teachers who volunteer to do that. I'm changing review because initially I felt the only negative was that the food wasn't as healthy as it could be, but it's much better now- maybe they say this review and changed it? Anyway, they do feed healthy options that include vegetables and fruits now so that's nice. I could pay a little extra for organic milk at my son's last daycare (this was one of the few positive things from that place), but I don't still don't have that option here unfortunately. This is a small negative considering all the positives. The other negative I previously mentioned is that they didn't take credit cards, but they also changed this. There's a fee which is a percent of what you pay of course, so I don't actually use my card because the extra cost adds up.

Unable to follow basic instructions is concerning because how can you teach my child if you can't follow the rules yourself. My child has been sick almost constantly since enrolling and it's reached a point where this facility needs to be reported and closed down for a terminal cleaning and proper sanitation lessons. This corporation is money driven and in the twenty years has been poorly managed and went down hill. Don't waste your time and end up like us regretting the decision to give them benefit of the doubt. To the upper management you need to be a secret shopper and see how poor the director and teachers interact amongst one another. There is a handful of decent teachers but, in all it's TRASH.
