I have known and been going to Dr. Fischel for more than 30 years. He is not only a great chiropractor but he is also a great person. During the course of the last few years, I now try and go at least once a week or once every two weeks. Doing so has kept both my physical and mental health in balance which is so important. Dr. Fischel's office also has an amazing massage therapist who I try and see for an hour at least once every two weeks. Her name is Zoey and she is incredible. If you went to a spare for an hour long massage, you could pay hundreds of dollars. The fees here are significantly less and worth every penny and then some. read more

I have had a terrible experience with Olympic Chiropractic. Dr. Fischel has been rude and made this an extremely unpleasant experience that I would not want others to go through. I was in a minor car accident and sought an evaluation/treatment at Olympic Chiropractic as it was covered through American Specialty Health Network, a contracted facility through my insurance provider Kaiser Permanente. The office is small and I believe only two doctors practice here. I received treatment from Dr. Tebbe and each visit, at most, was five minutes as that all that was needed for my treatment. Shelley, the office manager, would be there to greet me each time and was friendly and welcoming (at first). Other than a slightly off-putting vibe that I got from the doctor, these visits were fine, albeit short. I found it odd that the doctors told me it was mandatory to attend an hour long "class" about health and chiropractic services. It wasn't until I attended the class that I found out that it was basically a useless presentation/sales pitch about their business and a request for me to refer my friends and family there. I didn't find their information relevant and as another review stated, the doctors would ask a series of questions and expect everyone to know the answer. Stop wasting people's time, you're the doctors, if everyone knew the answer, they wouldn't be there. At the end of my treatment, I thought that my entire bill was paid and taken care of. My health insurance paid the chiropractic office their agreed-upon contracted rate, and my co-pay was also satisfied. A few weeks later, I received a nasty phone call from the office manager, Shelley, accusing me of withholding payment and holding their money hostage. I was startled and called my insurance provider to clear the matter up. Initially my insurance provider informed me that nothing is to be paid above the contracted rate. I relayed the message to Shelley who quickly got very aggressive and said that they weren't obligated to follow the contracted rate. Just by her demeanor alone, it seemed like this could be a case of a doctor's office trying to double-bill and collect as much money as possible, while hoping that their patients won't know any better and will just blindly pay. I was blown away at the attitude. What reason did I have NOT to trust my own health insurance provider over this office? While going back and forth between Olympic Chiropractic and my health insurance provider to resolve the matter, I have been nothing but courteous to them. In return, I have been accused of being intentionally difficult and robbing them of their money. All I was trying to do is figure out why they are telling me one thing and my insurance is telling me another. Why would I pay them when I had a valid reason to think otherwise? Dr. Fischel has been downright rude and inferred that I had made the situation complicated simply because he refused to hear what I had to say and wanted me to blindly accept what he said. I am truly blown away at how terribly he handled this. I would never withhold something that is due, but any smart person would do their due diligence before paying. It seems their tactic is to be condescending and bully their patients. All in all, this has been a nightmare to deal with. Sorting through insurance networks and logistics can be cumbersome enough, but throw unprofessionalism and a bully of a doctor into the equation and you'd be better off not seeking treatment. Dr. Fischel has been extremely short with me and has refused to answer my questions in any sort of thoughtful manner. I can not believe I have not written a review until now! Well, better late than never!! Dr. Fischel and I met many years ago in Century City. I was the Building Manager of the Watt Towers and the weekly Farmers Market was open. Dr. Fischel was in a booth giving out information and free five min massage's. I was impressed with his knowledge, care and commitment to his craft. I had worked for a Chiropractor in my late twenties and yes Dr. did know the man I worked for. I have been and have referred others too Dr. since 2005. In addition, the office is managed by his lovely wife Shelley who is extremely efficient in running the office. RUN!!! The 1 star reviews are very accurate and I wish I followed my instincts. Before I arrived I emailed my insurance card to the office and told them to make sure my Blueshield PPO is covered otherwise I'm not interested. She said they are "in network" provider. When I got there she said your co-pay will be either $30 or $70 and I said I think it's $30 but I'm ok with either. "Doctor" spent 40 minutes trying to convince me I had health issues (they call this the "exam") yet I kept telling him my neck is really hurting and need treatment on it. He spent the last 5 minutes massaging my neck. The rest of the time he took X Rays (which I never asked for) and explained to me how I need to come regularly Before I left I was told I owe $125 plus X Rays etc and that I'm not covered under insurance. I told the receptionist that's not what she told me earlier and that I'm only willing to pay my copay. She got very irritated and said will send me to collections. I then get an email from the doctor bashing my religious beliefs and stating I must apologize to his wife (who happens to be the receptionist). Needless to say I do not recommend this place - the 5 star reviews are probably fake The doctors response fails to address the fact that his wife, prior to my appointment, clearly said "your copay will most likely be $70 but might be $30 let me check" You, the reader, Please decide how you would interpret that - I interpret that as I am covered by insurance - but I will let you decide how you would interpret that. Furthermore I emailed my insurance card PRIOR to my visit and instructed them to make sure I'm covered Lastly - the doctor still only performed a "sales pitch" and provided only a 5 minute massage. I came in today for an adjustment and left feeling like I've never felt before. I couldn't walk completely upright without aching badly before coming i.! I have such bad luck with chiros and this was just another one of them. I forgot which doctor it was, but he kept on asking me stupid questions (What do you think this x-ray means? What do you think your back does when you do that? Me: Why you are the doctor, why don't you tell me?? If I could answer those questions then I would be the doctor, and be paying my self 100+ dollars an hour, HM??) and looking at me with this creepy look that freaked me out. Mostly, I could totally tell they were just trying to get me to come back multiple times a week (rather than treating me) so they could get paid :P they made it so obvious. I recommend (and have recommended to friends and family) Dr. Michael Tebbe at Olympic Chiropractic. If he was a car, he'd be a cross between a Ferrari and a Bentley. Why you ask? A Ferrari because he performs. He's accelerated my recovery from a persistent knee issue and had me up and running from a major ankle roll (basketball) and pinched nerve in my lower back (basketball) in a few days. I thought I would be down and out for weeks. A Bentley because he has genuine class about him. I'm not talking Beverly Hills "class". Dr. Tebbe knows his craft well, but his demeanor is what makes him stand above the rest. He listens very well and is a pleasure to be around. He explains himself and the treatment in as much detail and with as much patience as required. Having this in a Doctor is, in my estimation, a luxury. A few other points: He's a great motivator and educator on nutrition. His practices has free parking! A few of you have asked about massage therapy/chiropractic services and I have a recommendation for you- Olympic Chiropractic is an over-all great group of practitioners to go to. These guys are awesome. I have been going to them for about a year now. Their Massage therapists kick ass, and so do the Chiros. I have been getting treatment for 2 different running injuries and Dr. Desai got me not only back on my feet(running 6+ miles/day), but also give me exercises and stretches that I can do at home (which has been a lifesaver, seriously). My personal fav chiro there has to be Dr. Roshani Desai- she is really good at "torturing" my hip-injuries into shape. And she's feisty, just like me. Dr. Tebbe is great too. I wouldn't normally promote this type of thing, but I've been going to chiropractors all over the country for 10+ years, and have worked/assisted multiple DCs as well. These guys know what they are doing. So go to prevent injury, fix injuries, or just go for massage. Either way, it's good for you! Bonus #1: They are close to my job & home (Literally takes me 5 minutes to get there from the Office-parking garage to door). I have never been to a chiropractor before and based on the reviews I decided to give Olympic Chiropractic a shot. I've had terrible upper back pain and migraines for the past year so I figured I should seek medical attention- the natural way. I have to say after the past two weeks I can feel such a difference in my body and overall well being. I used to get headaches every single day. I found myself popping 2 advils everyday and I hated how awful I felt taking medication constantly. It has now decreased to about 2 slight headaches a week, which is a HUGE difference for me. I also had no clue that chiropractors could help with headaches! Dr. Fischel really takes the time to help his patients and find the root of the problem. He is huge on patient education. Some other patients may find this annoying because you are constantly given pamphlets to read and then he will ask you questions about it, but COME ON I think everyone should understand what they are doing to your body! It makes me think about all the other doctors I've been to that haven't taken the time to explain to me what everything is and means. I also love that they work with you with payments. As a recent graduate who just moved out to LA and is overwhelmed with bills...I KNOW I can't afford $65 a visit. They set up a payment plan with me on the second visit and now I can get the treatment I need without breaking the bank. And to top it all off, the receptionist Shelly is AMAZING! i had my first and best experience here. I messed up my neck really bad on a friday morning while running. i was in excruciating pain and when it didnt go away in 24hrs i decided to go to this place because they were open on saturday and do x-rays there. I was scared but i went. i got Dr. Roshani Desai she listened to me and was very intuitive and gentle, she knew i was scared to get adjusted because of the pain i was in but we worked through it together and she eventually adjusted me and literally my pain was lessened by 70 percent and the next day almost completely gone. i will definitely only go back to her. everyone in the office was so nice and they gave me a great discount because i dont have insurance. I went in today to see Dr. Tebbe for an initial visit. The staff was nice, doctor was nice, but at the end of the day I never received treatment. The doctor talked to me in the beginning about my goals and my injury, he did a few tests and evaluations and told me to return in a few days to talk about the evaluation. I asked about getting treated and he stated that he would need time to review the evaluation. UMM, so you're telling me I spent an hour and a half of my time in your office, most of the which was spent waiting for you, and I'm not going to receive ANY treatment? I understand if you don't want to do an adjustment, but at the VERY LEAST, he could have shown me some stretches to do meanwhile! Also, I told the staff from the get-go that I would not like x-rays. At one point, he stated, "OK now I would like to take a picture of your neck." I knew to clarify if he was referring to an x-ray, but I don't think everyone would know that an x-ray is what he was referring to. To me, calling it a "picture" is misleading to patients and patients deserve to know when they are receiving an x-ray. At the end of the day, it's simple. No treatment=1 star. read more

It's not often that a doctor will make you feel as if you're part of a family, but that's the feeling one gets at Dr. Fischel's office. Dr. Fischel's emphasis is on educating his patients to become caretakers of our own health. He doesn't pretend to know everything, yet he is all the while very knowledgeable about his craft and western medicine, as he studied that as well, before deciding he wanted to help the world with chiropractics. When I began making visits to the office, I wasn't having any current back problems, but I chose to begin chiropractic care for my overall health. It's not just about random cracking of the back-- the doctor does x-rays and other assessments to determine the health of your spine. The facilities are very clean. There is parking in the back. Make sure you park in spots labeled "Fischel." There is another chiropractor's office next door. Make sure you enter in the correct door as well! Somewhat recently, another doctor has joined the office. It doesn't seem to have changed anything too much, although you may find the office at some times in a bit of a hubbub. At first, it seemed to me chaotic, but they have done a very good job of creating a system in which the two doctors and their patients can happily coexist. I did get rear-ended and suffered pains in my neck and shoulder. After a few months of treatment, I was even better than I had felt before. The receptionist, Shelley, who is also Dr. Fischel's wife, is another reason I love going. They both show a genuine concern for your well-being, and take the time to get to know you.
