@cityofsequim Police Over-reach? Creeping Trumpism? -- (see point #5): 1. My wife and I have each been patients at NWE Clinic-Sequim for over three years. Each of us have had multiple surgeries, and their co-necessary pre- and post- visits. 2. I have never before been late to an NWE appointment. 3. I was ten minutes late today, because of a road accident stoppage incident near the Jamestown village, on my way from my home in Port Townsend. It was over ten minutes long but -- bad on me for not allowing more trip-time to NWE. I would have and could have called NWE but thought it -- and thought NWE would think -- that that was silly; after all, in almost every appointment I've had with NWE, i've waited an average of thirty minutes, minimum, for my appointment. 4. Over the course of an increasingly unpleasant encounter between the stonewalling front desk people, primarily Dawn, and my insistence that their insistence -- that it would be Impossible To Fit You In -- was bogus, the Medical Office Manager, Karen, came out, in scrubs. She soon gave up any more pretext to NWE's facade. She said something like, That's just the way it is.
5. After Manager Karen told me that, I gave up and left, declaring (too loudly?) that I'd be commenting on social media about this, and that I would notify them where to send my files because I was done with them. While I was on my way home, a person called my wife and said he was Sequim Police officer Tony Push. He called my wife at our home -- from a private cell phone: 360-808-0472 -- and told her that "an unnamed person" from NWE had called them, the Sequim Police Department, and told them they had a person yelling, pounding the desk, downright screaming -- bringing the front desk women to tears, and other demonstrable untruths (there were about six or eight non-employees in the waiting area). Officer Push then told my wife that I was no longer entitled to go to or be at Northwest Eye Surgery Clinic. Officer Push told her that SPD officers had been dispatched, and that a report entitled "Call For Service", numbered 2017-12398, has been filed. So now I'm on the records at the Sequim Police Department and my wife has been scared, and has been mandated to receive second-hand threats from an unidentified-except-by-his-own-claim police officer (?). 6. I have no complaints about any of the patient-medical encounters I've had over my time with NWE. BUT, I have noticed, during the many times I had to sit and wait for a half-hour, or so before I'd be called for my overdue appointment -- that there was more than occasionally, much more -- a subtle pattern of condescending and indifferent behavior from the staff people to the almost-all elderly waiting patients and to the people attending the adjoining Appointments and Scheduling alcove
7.I've had my appointment for months. I was bumped for multiple Add-On patients NWE had scheduled just today. Both Dawn and the other front desk people, as well as Doctor Kuhnline, who was, I am told by Dawn, consulted about this, and reminded once again that I am on a tight schedule because I must be out of the country for three months, and leave in seven days. After a great deal of friction I was offered a Friday appointment, which would be another significant chunk in the limited time I have remaining before departure. I opted to give up on NWE and find better.
8. Bad behavior is bad. NWE-Sequim behaves as if they're only game in town, the go-to place for Medicare recipients, oldsters with eye problems and transportation difficulties. Sweet, ehh, or is it insidious Trumpism? read more
