There is another paid lot on the south end on 6th. There is limited parking in the same building. The lobby is spacious. Security is helpful. Monitors are available showing bus schedules. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. There are 2 banks of elevators. One bank to take to you the 16th floor and lower. The Second to take you to floors higher than 16th. When going to a floor higher than 40th, you'd need to transfer to a second set of elevators on the 40th. There are 3 eateries: a Vietnamese restaurant Core Bistro and 2 others outside the building: a Mexican restaurant Bebas And Amigos and a salad/sandwich store Chew Chews Eatery. You'd need to go upstairs from the lobby level. The Mexican restaurant and salad bar is outside the building. There are 2 other floors below the lobby. You'll see some great artwork here, a gift store and escalators to join up to the Columbia Tower. To get to Columbia tower, turn right at the bottom of the escalator to take a second set of escalators. At the bottom, go through the glass doors at the bottom of the escalator and turn left. If you turn right, it takes you through a tunnel. Follow this to another set of escalators to take you up to the Bank of America tower across the street. Pretty handy if you really want to stay warm! Amazon Locker is also located on the bottom level.

First of all, I'm lucky enough to live downtown, so it was a 11 minute walk for me to get there. But the entire process was very smooth. Instructions to where I needed to be were streamlined and nearly impossible to confuse, which was even nicer. The workers I encountered were very understanding, sweet, and efficient. The communicated with us frequently so that there was never a question of what was going on. They answered every question I could have imagined asking even before they actually took questions from us. And for a first timer, they really gave me all the info I needed to relax and just be present for the whole experience. They mentioned more than once how much we were all appreciated for our service and encouraged us to leave for the 1hour and 15 minute lunch break with recs for places to eat. Plus they made it known more than once that we could take 15 minute breaks outside by just signing out. The actual room we sat in for a majority of the time there was big, bright, and airy with high ceilings and huge windows with sweeping Seattle views. There were comfy lounge chairs for people with back or pain issues, desks, board games and puzzles. I also appreciated the laptop tables and free WIFI so you could work and/or entertain yourself. If you needed it, there's a quiet room for reading, free coffee and refreshments, and vending machines for soda and snacks. I didn't take advantage of this because of the low temps, but there was a gorgeous terrace we could also enjoy for some fresh air and a quick break from the room. Everything looked clean, including the floors, chairs, and laptop tables. The bathrooms were also very clean and tidy. Overall, while it was very time consuming and there was a lot of waiting, it really wasn't so bad, especially with those views on a sunny day.

In addition to visiting her and the corresponding local adventures, my family had a boat for a few years that we stored in the driveway, but put in/took out of the water at Edmonds Marina. Restaurants near the marina and near Edmonds bowl/Downtown Edmonds were staples of my upbringing. The shops were also child-friendly growing up. My parents, grandma, sister, and I all liked the toy shop(s), kitchen shop(s), and a travel shaped called the Savvy Traveler. Salon 512 was where I got my haircut for several years (though when I was really young, my mom cut my bangs at home). I went to summer camps at the Anderson Center. As part of the summer camps we walked around Edmonds to different places, including walking to Yost Pool so we could go swimming. As a family, we went to Edmonds Driftwood Players Theater performances (stage) and routinely saw movies at Edmonds Theater (cinema). All of these experiences helped make Edmonds feel like an extension of home, we lived to the south in Shoreline. The City of Edmonds remains a place I continue explore with enjoyable experiences spanning a variety of business types. Traffic tends not to be too bad, as long as not during peak hours, and street parking is abundant though can fill up quickly.

I would say, however, that at peak tourist season in August parking can be tight. There are numerous eating options. There are art galleries, artisan souvenir shops, a bakery, chocolatier, a book store, and several apparel stores. Of course there are bars and wineries. The big surprise is that this is a "Norwegian" town with flags up and down the main streets. Who knew? As you turn into the town there is a large viking statue that says "welcome" in Norwegian. There are lots of Norwegian-themed stores and restaurants. Since I've been to Norway four times, I have watched a lot Viking shows on the History channel. I have never seen any description of Vikings in the Pacific Northwest. No one in town seems to know how or why the Vikings arrived. So that a mystery to me. Overall, Poulsbo is both livable and an attractive place to spend a day as a tourist. People are friendly and happy. I understand why.
