Makes me wonder if it's all just an attempt to upsell. Wouldn't recommend. R&M came to my house for standard HVAC maintenance visits in March and September of 2025. They seemed to be reasonably priced. I can't speak to their competence in conducting these visits because they didn't find anything wrong with the system, and it's hard to evaluate their expertise under those circumstances. During the September visit, the technician said that I should have my ducts cleaned at some point during the following year, and that the technique they used would require them to remove all of the registers in the house and probably damage the surrounding paint, requiring repainting. I have been considering moving, and I thought it would make sense to wait on the duct cleaning, since I would repaint the rooms before putting the house up for sale, and any prospective buyers would be happier with vents that had been freshly cleaned. Six months after I was told I should have a duct cleaning within a year, it was time for my spring maintenance again. I called R&M at 1:23 pm on March 26, 2026 using the number I had saved in my phone from calling them to schedule in the past and got a weird automated message before it even rang asking me to tell it who I am so it could see whether the recipient would take my call. I thought there might have been a mistake with the connection, so I hung up, checked the number, and called back about a minute later, getting the same message. I told the automated voice who I was, and waited. Then I was told the recipient wouldn't take my call but I could leave a voicemail message, which I did. I left my name and reason for my call, and told them my phone number twice. When I didn't receive a call back, I thought there might be a problem with their phones, so I looked up their email on their website, and sent an email to their listed address (info@rmaircontrol.com) at 11:42 am on March 31 saying I had left a message that wasn't returned and I wanted to schedule my spring maintenance. I got no response. I wondered if they had closed, so I checked them out on Yelp and saw that they were supposedly still in business. I sent them a message through Yelp at 4:44 pm on April 2, saying I had tried to get in touch previously by phone and email, hadn't heard back, and that I would appreciate a response. Their response at 8:40 pm on April 2, which was forwarded to an old email account associated with Yelp that I rarely use anymore, said that their estimate was $95 and "We have the week available." When I sent them a message a few days later -- HI - Thanks for getting back to me. I'm not sure what timeframe "the week" is. What is the best way to get in touch with you to talk about specific times for scheduling a maintenance visit? Thanks -- they sent a message back at 9:03 am on April 6 that said "I do have availability from next week Tuesday." My reply sent later the same day said, "Do you mean tomorrow the 7th or the following Tuesday the 14th? This is getting to be a frustrating experience. Before we move forward, will you please tell me why you didn't answer my phone call or return my phone message, didn't answer my email sent to the address on your website, and are refusing to give me contact info to have a phone conversation with you about scheduling? This is very a very different experience than in previous years." They said, "We're sorry, but every time we email you back on a response it takes you several days so we do get booked up very fast." They subsequently sent me a message on Yelp alleging that I had never before emailed or called them or used their company for services, which is untrue. I have verified payment to them and an invoice from R&M Air Control. So I sent an email to the same email address I emailed them at before (used the "reply" function) with a copy of my original email to them on March 31 and a screenshot of my cellphone log showing I had called them on March 26. Their email reply (which proves my original email was to a working account controlled by R&M) to me said only "4/14 after 2 address," which is kind of disturbingly incoherent. I'm not sure what this was supposed to mean. They have left me wondering if they are reasonably priced and initially responsive to try to get you to buy a service that costs many hundreds of dollars, only to blow you off if you don't immediately take them up on it, or if they are just extremely incompetent, disorganized, and unable to communicate in any kind of reasonable way with their clients. In either case, I don't recommend them. Can you imagine what it would be like working with them if an actual repair issue arose? I wouldn't want to. I'm frustrated because now I have to look for a new HVAC company, and prices go up the later in the season you schedule this kind of maintenance. Very disappointing.

We discussed on the phone for a long time what the issues were with the hvac unit. He listened carefully to the whole saga of the hvac unit and laid out the various options he thinks I have--all this before being asked to work on anything. He went over the details of the tests he could run and answered every one of my dozens of questions. He answered my texts throughout the day and night. He made time in his busy schedule (squeezed in my appointment late in the day and had to work late) to run another leak test that I asked him for. He gave me the assurance I needed, not to mention a very fair pricing for the urgent leak test. Carlos is the most trustworthy contractor I've ever worked with. I appreciate his time and caring through the process. I can't recommend him enough. I figured this is the least I could do in return for his help.

Bennett Air contacted me on 12 OCT 2021 and offered to send a technician out the same day. I asked if one could be sent the next day and this was not an issue. The Outdoor Unit for my HVAC was not properly functioning over the Holiday weekend. Warm Air was blowing, but the blades were not spinning. The technician that was assigned, quickly diagnosed and corrected the problem. He even helped me locate and change the air filters in my home. He also provided a quote to change the filter on my humidifier that is connected to the HVAC because insurance does not cover it. In my opinion, this organization went above and beyond to deliver amazing service. I will definitely utilize the services provided for the upkeep of my home. I also like how I was updated from the time the technician was headed my way until everything was finished. I think this service was provided by the home warranty company.

Despite temperatures dropping to 3 degrees that weekend, no technician was dispatched until February 9. On February 9, a technician evaluated the furnace and diagnosed the issue as a blower motor failure. He removed the blower motor, fan, and housing assembly, stating that they would assemble the new motor with the components at their warehouse and return with the unit ready for installation. However, he was uncertain when the required part would arrive. On February 13, a different technician arrived. Security camera footage shows that he arrived carrying a small sealed box, which appeared to contain only a blower motor -- not the full housing and fan assembly that had been removed from my furnace. After briefly inspecting the unit, he came upstairs and stated, "Sorry, the wrong part was ordered. I'll try to be back later." I suspect that he probably didn't realize that the previous tech took the housing and fan with them during the previous visit. I contacted the office immediately and was informed that they would not be returning that day and instead would come back on Monday afternoon. This situation raised several concerns: 1. How was the incorrect part ordered and not verified prior to arriving at my home? 2. Why was the motor not pre-assembled with the housing and fan as previously stated? 3. Why did the technician arrive without the housing and fan that had been removed from my furnace? When I expressed that I could not wait additional days in freezing temperatures and requested that the issue be corrected as soon as possible, there was no demonstrated urgency to resolve their mistake. As a result, I contacted another HVAC company. The new company asked to FaceTime to view the furnace. They immediately noted that the unit had been left open with exposed electrical wiring and advised that there was no necessity to remove the fan and housing assembly in the first place. They were able to locate a compatible blower motor the same day but advised that they would need the fan and housing components to complete the repair promptly. I contacted Bennett Air LLC requesting the immediate return of the parts taken from my furnace. They declined to return the parts the same day and stated they would not return them until Monday. There was no urgency or willingness to accommodate the situation. All communication occurred via text message. When my subsequent text messages went unanswered, I attempted to call the company, only to discover that my number had been blocked. I am extremely disappointed in the handling of this matter. While the company may attempt to dispute or be defensive about this account, I have preserved all communication in writing, as well as video evidence documenting the events described above. I also find it concerning that this company maintains close to five stars on Google while holding a 2.9 rating on Yelp. Additionally, they are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to carefully consider their options before hiring this company. In my experience, concerns were met with defensiveness and dismissiveness rather than professionalism or accountability. You can also sense this in other negative reviews. Instead of taking accountability, they become defensive. This company has zero reliability and their operations manager, Barbara, lacks competence. She has zero communication skills and shows traits of narcissistic behavior by trying to gaslight clients into thinking its them causing the conflict rather than taking accountability for their own errors.
