My very time at a MonkeySports Superstore. I usually shop at MonkeyGoalie.com that is affiliated…read morewith MonkeySports. When I say this store is ginormous, it truly is. They carry hockey, lacrosse and baseball items only and it's wonderful for my son, except I left spending over $600. Bella was great at helping us but I had to go to the register to let her know we needed help in the ice skate section. She radioed for someone to go help us but no one responded so she ended up helping us and checking us out. We were pleasantly greeted when we walked it but it appeared as if no wanted to really work. They have ample equipment and a skate sharpening area. Everything is neatly organized by sport, making it easy to navigate and shop. I would return because they have things we need but they've gotta work on their service. There's ample parking.

This means even more to me as the money being spent is all donated to help the youth of Brockton. Thanks to Joe, Debbie and Max, I won't shop anywhere else for my lacrosse needs. They take such pride and ownership into their customer service that it is as though that are family and they built the building themself, brick by brick. Pride in their work is an understatement. There is no question or need they can't help with. A true family feel, this store is a hidden gem!

More than meets the eye at the Dedham Plaza. On one side, the side facing Route 1, there's Stop &…read moreShop, Dress Barn, Men's Wearhouse, etc. But around back, there are additional stores, such as Tuesday Morning, Domino's, and Play It Again Sports. Play It Again Sports has a line up of their own parking spots right outside, labeled just for their own customers. Inside there are two counters - one for purchases, and another for selling them your used gear. I was there to have my skates sharpened, so I paused for a bit, then headed on over to the former. They took my name and skates and $6, and sharpened behind a closed door as I waited. I was told about this place by a couple of speedy skaters on recently sharpened hockey skates. Skate sharpening at the rinks, they said, are done by machines that just roll through the skates. At shops like this, it is done manually, and you can test your blades for sharpness by quickly rubbing your nails against it, as a sharp blade will shave off a bit of your nail. As I waited, I meandered the store. I noticed that they sell used tennis balls $1 for 3 (they buy used balls for 10 cents apiece), and the same for golf balls. Skates are out back. They don't string tennis rackets here, but suggested Boston Ski and Tennis in Newton. They call out your name when your skates are ready. Given my relative lack of (good) experience, I inquired how frequently skates ought to be sharpened and was told after every 6-8 hours of heavy use. No wonder they told me my blades were dull after having resisted sharpening for several years since a rather traumatic rink sharpening experience. I also picked up a pair of new bladeguards for $7.99. The other ice skate sharpening recommendations provided by those fellas were: MonkeySports, Norwood Sports Etc, Arlington *** Tried out my skates a week later, and it felt smooth against the ice.

There is a huge line and one person at the register and a slew of young frowny untrained staff…read morefloating around.

I was in Country Ski a few weeks back getting ready for my snowboarding trip to Whistler for New…read moreYears. I needed some soft goods and since I don't have much time to stay up to speed with what's going on in gear world, I was looking to enlist the help of their staff. Usually I don't do this, especially in specialty shops, because I don't like the pressure to buy or bad vibes for not knowing ridiculous details of what I thought was just a sweater. One of the sales guys approached me (Ray, I think?) while I was checking out their jackets. Being a reduce, reuse, recycle kinda guy, i was happy to learn the Planet Earth jackets they stock use sustainable fabrics. They had a great selection which made finding something that fit my style easy. Ray was asking me questions while I was grabbing some other stuff and he suggested I check out their custom footbeds. I've been using Superfeet and love them, but felt a step up in the footbed department would be instrumental in getting my riding to the next level. I was hoping the custom footbeds would have an impact similar to using the right running shoes for my foot/strike. They worked out way better than I expected! I had no problems with the new boots I got for Christmas (K2 Maysis) on my first day out. Footbed and boot overall felt great. That was a huge for my week long trip in Whistler! The gears kept me dry, warm, and comfortable which is precisely what I need. Custom footbeds are killer. It's a huge step up! Got a great deal on everything. Knowledgeable staff helped me find some things I might have missed (they even had a helmet delivered the next morning from one of their other stores), and they gave me some great advice on caring for my equipment, too. 5 stars for customer service, price, and selection.

The staff couldn't have been nicer and happily answered all of my questions. They didn't pressure me at all and spent a ton of time working with me to find the perfect gear. I got an incredible deal on boots and skis with the summer mark downs. Shout out Dave for his time and attention! Highly recommend!!!
