Starting with the cocktails they nailed it. I have had martinis at countless restaurants (perhaps I am a lush) and their vodka martini was perfect - I mean like I make them at home. Then came the appetizer that my mother in law ordered.... cheese fritters- they were breaded mac and cheese bombs with a honey mustard dipping sauce that was to die for- no word of a lie. Next was the main.... I had a 10 oz. ribeye that wasn't 10 ounces.... it was more like 15 ounces- it was huge but it was cooked perfectly medium rare and perfectly seasoned - this wasn't just good, this was Montreal good... amazing food all around. But I think the service was the kicker.... our servers took the time to talk to us, explain the menu, ask people what they liked and were simply wonderful... I wish all restaurants had staff like this. Bottom line - if you're in this part of Ontario, go to Hobarts..... you will be blown away.

Well the appitizers were very disappointing . We ordered escargot in mushroom caps and a loaf bread. Yes.. we ordered bread. It's not part of the $80.00 dinner for two. At $9.00 it was less than spectacular . The mushrooms were old and tasteless. White on the bottom as if they had been sitting in a liquid far too long . The salad also an extra was tiny leaving us thinking that they may have run out of lettuce . Small brown tips on the romaine was a dead give away. The atmosphere and service was excellent . We will go back and give it another shot. Let's hope it's better .

With each, you choose a protein along with toppings, sauces and heat level. The bowls and boxes also come with either rice, fries or veggies. The rice are called 'rocks', the fries are called 'stix'. So for example, you can order a beef on rocks, or chicken on stix . You can also have both fries and rice, this is called 'half/half'. When we arrived, the staff were very friendly, location was bright and clean. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak box - half/half, with medium heat and a garlic sauce. Food was hot and fresh, huge portions... it was awesome!!! Definitely going back!

The staff was friendly but since I got take out it's hard to judge overall service. This place was built as a coffee time back in the day and it still shows that kind of a design. Our server was Laura M and we had a group of about 20-25 and she handled it like a pro. She as on her game. She tried to explain and asked if they can give her a large cup to pour it into, they said no they have water available. Now at that point I decided rather than argue we'd go somewhere else. I can only assume it was the owner that shouted over from behind the counter, great job, thanks for doing your job. That comment was uncalled for and rude. I've been to this establishment when the previous owner was there and it was great, I will never darken their doorstep again. Can't go wrong with deep fried pizza dough covered in icing sugar and warm Nutella to dunk in. ;) Anyway, great Italian restaurant in Lindsay... definitely going back.
