Upon asking I was told that it was supplied by a local chocolatier right in town! Off I went in search of confectionary - and was rewarded with a feast for both eyes and palette! They also sell tinned hot chocolate (so you can make it on your own), and pretty gift sets! I also learned that it is a 3 generation family owned shop - which makes it all the more special!

The tasting consisted of 4 different types of chocolate, all unique and craft chocolates. I would have liked to see a little more variety in the chocolates in terms of types/fillings BUT I will say it was really interesting to learn how the amounts of ingredients (sugar, milk, cocoa) and where the beans were made impacts the chocolate flavor. At the end of the tasting, Cody let us taste some of the most delicious hot chocolate I've ever had!! We also got a 10% discount on purchased items. The menu is extensive and you're sure to find something to enjoy from the many flavors, treats, sundaes, etc. My issue with this shop is the incredibly slow service. There are usually no more than three people working in the shop at one time, but it seems to take the staff nearly 5-10 minutes per order. It's one thing if they're filling large orders, which does happen, but some folks just order soft serve or hand dipped ice cream and its still takes a ridiculously long amount of time to receive an order. I'm not sure why that is. The inside of the ice cream shop is currently closed to the public, so all orders are taken at the outdoor windows. There is very little cover from the sun, just a couple of umbrellas on two of the picnic tables, so customers have to stand in line with the sun baking their skin (wear sunscreen, folks!) while the line crawls at a snail's pace. It's really unfortunate because the ice cream is great. Just be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes if you visit in the spring/summer/fall.
