Honestly, I'm really grateful I came across Olvera Music shop I started playing music as a hobby, when I was younger and the first time I went to the store was to get a trumpet wax cleaner when I was in high school and now that is my go to store to buy equipment that I use for my tocadas with my Grupos and I'm really glad no matter what instrument you need you can put a down payment on. The person attending me was very rude with his responses. I asked him about a certain instrument I had seen was available on their website and when I got there he said he didn't have it. He told me it was "too expensive" and recommended me a very cheap trombone. The money was not a problem for me, if it wasn't for his attitude I would have bought an instrument that day. read more

I went to get my guitar tuned and to get new strings. and the guy at the counter explained in detail all the strings they had available. They carry various instruments too. First thought: They must get a lot of Banda musicians in here. So i needed to find somewhere to get a last minute piece of equipment for my drum set and found this place just 4 minutes from my work so had to check it out. I was helped by a Cashier named Danny and he didn't seem too familiar with the parts i was stands i was looking for but directed me right over to their percussion section where he showed me a variety of stands at different prices. I had researched and looked up the price of the stand i was looking for at a Guitar Center and they had the same one here for almost $10 more. I figured since I was in a rush i would be spending the same money on gas and traveling so i just paid the little extra. And its always better to support local spots! Overall this place is super chill, doesn't seem like it gets crowded, ever, so i don't think there will ever be a problem looking for what you need. The cashier also informed me that if i needed a certain instrument or piece of equipment i can go in and order it wit them so that nice. Not sure how much it would be though. read more

Super happy with my guitar set up. I'm a local and needed to have a guitar set up. The price was reasonable and the wait time was quick, 3 days I believe. My guitar was buzzing all over the place and intonation was way off. Set up put everything to how they should have been, saddles radius and intonation, neck relief set properly, string action as low as possible with no buzz. Pickup height also adjusted to the sweet spot. Overall happy with my instrument. read more

Was surprised they had ukuleles here. They had a very limited variety, but they were fairly priced, so I picked one up. Bought a case, a tuner, and a set of strings to accompany it and It all came around to less than a hundred bucks, so not to bad a deal. The employee who helped me out was knowledgeable and kind, so that's always a plus. I don't shop for instruments often, but I do recommend this spot for those who live in the area. read more
