Also, I had seen some positive reviews elsewhere. Originally, I called on a Saturday after they'd closed for the day. I left a message for them to call me back which no one did leading my partner to suggest looking elsewhere, but I still felt like Sutton & Son would be our best bet, so I called again during their business hours. Originally, they were not going to be able to book me for a service call until the following week, but when I told them I had the next few days off work and was hoping to get it done sooner, they were able to accommodate me and scheduled my service call for the next day. The next day, I got a call saying that someone would be by between 12 and 2. Sure enough, there was someone there about 12:10. He had anticipated the source of the problem and had a replacement part ready to go. It was 99 for the service call 39 for the part and then HST. The technician was friendly and gave me some dishwasher advice before leaving. I recommend this company because of their punctuality and friendliness, but even more so for their honesty and know-how.

I called J&J because of all the 5 star reviews - and was unfortunately taken advantage of. I…read moredescribed the problem to Mike before he came. I sent him text messages and pictures of the washer so there was no confusion. I told him that I've already diagnosed it myself and there was faulty wiring at the back. He called me back and said it was no problem and that he could fix it. He showed up, spent a few minutes pretending he was doing something at the control board, and then confirmed the same diagnosis, then told me to call an electrician and tried to charge me $90 just for that. When I reminded him that the whole reason I hired him was because I thought he was an electrician and he told me he could fix it, he suddenly offered to complete the job -- for $260+tax ($300 total). He spent a few minutes at the back of the washer with some OxGuard and a pair of pliers. When I asked him what he actually did (multiple times), he refused to explain and continue to say he's been in the business for 40 years. For $300, I expect some explanation. After he left the washer got stuck on "wash" mode that was never there before. Called him back and he called it a 'completely separate issue' (meaning he was going to charge me if he came back). I went in myself and found a yellow wire disconnected from the control board right where he was playing around earlier. Ended up diagnosing and fixing his mistake on my own. $300 for OxiGuard and pliers, a new problem created, and zero accountability. Posting this as a warning to others. Save your money and call someone else!

I was not given a receipt for purchase. $850. While in my house, the 16 year old nephew took 2 phone calls promising the callers appliances that were "2 years old, no dents, no scratches." When I unwrapped my double oven it clearly had huge dents on both sides that were also rusted--the kind of dents resulting from being bounced down a road. The top of the control console had a large area where the finish was gone. the top right corner of the console was severely scratched it's entire width. The interior of the doors was so dirty there was no way this oven was less than 10 years old, and that is after they said they had cleaned it. The owner gave me advice on how to clean it with vinegar and baking soda. Why didn't they use this? I contacted them and within 5 days I even texted them with photos. He agreed to trade it for another double oven when he had one (in a text). I was never contacted. I sent text reminders checking in if there was a suitable trade over months. He said there was not yet. I have been using my basement kitchen since I had removed the upstairs kitchen the day after I moved to this house. I now need a stove and oven because I rented the basement. The first day I used this appliance to heat soup on a burner, I later noticed a intermittent clicking sound. I realized the burner would not shut off. I removed the knob and tried to find a position for the control that would turn it off, the display showed "Low" still. There was no position that would turn the burner off. I had to completely unplug the stove. I texted with pictures. When I went in to at least choose a single oven the employee said that person no longer was employed with the company. Later in the conversation, he let it slip that that person had warned him to look out for me because I might come in. This company will not cooperate and I even warned them I had met with my lawyer and was about to give a $3500.00 retainer. I reminded them and sent them relevant and dated screenshots of texts showing the agreement to trade and me following up regularly and being put off to wait longer by the owner. They still won't return the money or a trade. I'm moving forward with my lawyer.
