My 18 year old Maytag dryer stopped mid cycle. I called Sutton and Son Appliances, spoke with Crystal, who was very kind, patient and informative. We set up an appointment. Lee the technician arrived on time. He was pleasant, courteous and answered all of my questions. He had the issue diagnosed quickly ( thermal fuse). He replaced the fuse and the dryer is now working...and the cost was reasonable! Buyer Beware!!! We payed $175.15 to have the stove looked at. We were then quoted: $120.00 plus tax for the sensor which costs $80.00 $100.00 plus tax to install it and we learned that the original Suttons no longer exist, but the name lingers on! Total screwup!! Went online to find the part we needed - site said they had it in stock (and since there is only 1 address listed on the website, we went there) and no, in fact they don't have the part in stock -it's in Vaughn. But the very pushy owner said it would be in by 8am the next day. During him being pushy about buying it from him, I found it on Amazon, but he starts telling us how the parts on Amazon are often seconds and not as good (which I don't believe), but my husband wanted to order from him and we could pick it up in the morning. We get there the next day and they don't have the part!!! Either he ordered the wrong thing or there was some other stupidity and now we've made two trips in from Burlington to still not have the part we need for our dishwasher! Then we ask for a refund and even though we have the receipt they say they can't process the refund without the teeny visa slip that was not stapled to the receipt. It took at least 10 minutes in the store to just get annoyed and finally a refund. We still don't have the hose we need and the pushy, arrogant and obviously incompetent owner wasn't even there for me to express my displeasure to!!! We bought a Frigidaire refrigerator when we bought our new house in Burlington and Immediately we had problems. We contacted Frigidaire and they sent a company to service the frig -- twice and nothing was fixed. I called Frigidaire back and they sent a technician from Sutton and Sons and they were my salvation. Our service rep -Micky- instilled confidence in us with his first visit. I told Sutton what the previous company told us the problem was and they sent Micky with that part but he quickly diagnosed the problem and said that was not the issue and told us the situation- orders the parts and 2 weeks later installed them - today we are happy customers. In September, 2019 a technician (Graham) of Sutton & Son Appliance did the warranty repair for our Frigidaire Gallery electric stove (the oven was not baking properly). Graham checked the stove, determined that the oven sensor was not working properly; ordered that part; returned a week after and time efficiently replaced the oven sensor as well as the electronic display. I chose Sutton & Son because their ad said they'd been in business since the 1920's which suggested they must know what they're doing to be in business that long! Also, I had seen some positive reviews elsewhere. Originally, I called on a Saturday after they'd closed for the day. I left a message for them to call me back which no one did leading my partner to suggest looking elsewhere, but I still felt like Sutton & Son would be our best bet, so I called again during their business hours. Originally, they were not going to be able to book me for a service call until the following week, but when I told them I had the next few days off work and was hoping to get it done sooner, they were able to accommodate me and scheduled my service call for the next day. The next day, I got a call saying that someone would be by between 12 and 2. Sure enough, there was someone there about 12:10. He had anticipated the source of the problem and had a replacement part ready to go. It was 99 for the service call 39 for the part and then HST. The technician was friendly and gave me some dishwasher advice before leaving. I recommend this company because of their punctuality and friendliness, but even more so for their honesty and know-how. read more

I have to first say that my dealings with Sutton are not yet through, and that they refused to deal with me (as a tenant) but insisted on dealing with my landlord. I know its not typical, but my landlord is extremely ill, so I was trying to solve things on my own knowing he would pay for it. Anyway, the first problem I noticed with Sutton is that when you call them the people on the phone are terse, not particularly friendly, and make you feel stupid. Due to the weird situation I spoke to them a number of times on the phone and each time, by the time I ended the call, I felt stupid and as if my gas stove not working was my fault and it had really put them out. The technician arrived today to fix our stove. He was a nice guy and he seemed competent, but he quickly looked inside the oven and then declared "Looks like you'll be getting a new stove." Now I'll admit the stove in the house is extremely old, but I am certain that it could be fixed. Both the technician and the person on the phone made it clear that if they couldn't get parts for that brand and model, they wouldn't fix it (interestingly enough, when I first told them the brand name over the phone the guy said he had never heard of it and that he wouldn't send a service technician because they won't even go a customer if they can't get parts for that brand; I wondered why they didn't suggest buying a new one right then). Anyway, I called them this afternoon to let them know that the space where the stove sits is actually a bit smaller than the technician said. It is worth knowing that the technician gave me the strong impression that he was going to take care of contacting my landlord and arranging getting a new one. Back to the phone call, when I told the guy on the phone this fact he abruptly stated "we don't sell appliances" in a 'are-you-stupid- tone of voice. I actually hung up on him that time. Unfortunately there seems to be a disparity between what the service technician says and the person on the phone says. All that being said, I'm sure some people have had great experiences with Sutton and Son, and I'm sure my negative experience is at least partially due to the weird situation I'm in. However, I haven't been able to cook for almost two weeks because they're scheduled so far in advance. At this point, I would not recommend them. read more

I used Sutton & Son to install my fridge, dishwasher & stove. I called the office and they set up an appointment for me. When the two tech's came to my home, they were both friendly and easy to talk too. They worked together to get everything installed, and hooked up the gas line for the stove. They also took an extra step to show me a few features on my dishwasher that I was not aware of. They were very cautious towards my home, and cleaned up after they were done. Well It's been three weeks since we've moved into our new home. Three weeks since I've called Sutton and Sons to connect a gas line to my stove and three weeks without a stove. Week one: When the tech. Arrived my husband took him through the house to show where we need the gas line and specifically said "you're best to go from the outside because the meter is right behind the kitchen wall. This wasn't the case, the tech said you need to cut a hole in the basement wall and ceiling and we'll be back to run the line "inside." Week two: Now we have two techs from Sutton and Sons. They both head straight to the basement, a little time goes by, they head outside, back inside and say "well we can't run the line inside, the garage wall is in the way, but of course you never know what your going to find when you start drilling into the house." Now I have two holes in my brand new basement and with our schedules have to wait another week. Week three: Called Family Comfort one day, they came out to quote the next, installed the third and are the most professional efficient company I've had the pleasure contract.
