Unfortunately, most places that are owned by individuals tend to have to charge more to be able to make money on the product as they do not get bulk pricing. That being said, customer service should be where these places SHINE! And that is just not the case with Mike's appliance. There are 2 older gentleman that have extremely dry personalities to begin with. They are very "matter of fact" in tone. And don't really carry much for a sense of humor. That however is easily looked past as well. It is just an appliance store. The issue however arises when you have a misunderstanding and they do nothing to make things better. I had purchased 2 items to be delivered at a later date as the property that they were going into was not done with renovations at time of purchase. The eldest of the gentleman helped me with the purchase and had initially asked for just $100 down to hold them. I however decided to just pay in full as I wanted to be sure they were spoken for as one was scratch and dent. And I also just preferred to have it all said and done. I called yesterday to request the items now be delivered. Apparently and unbeknownst to me, they did not charge me for delivery. I assume that was due to the fact of the change from $100 down to paying in full. So this woman answers the phone. I explain I would like the items deliver now. After it took her several minutes to even find my purchase she gets back on the phone, and with an extremely snotty tone says I have to pick them up. To which I replied "well no I wanted them delivered". She then with even more distain in her voice says "well we charge for deliver and YOU didn't pay for that"...... I at that point stated I would call back and hung up. In later went into the store to return the purchase. And despite the fact of being aware of the Situation there was not offer of an apology, rather defense of the rude treatment I received. And an asserting of the fact that they charge for delivery. I have purchased over 20 appliances from this store over the last 3 years. I have never been offered any discount, any help on delivery charges which in my opinion should in fact be waived due to the volume of which I buy. But on top of that despite my continuing to go back when I can clearly get the same appliances for much less elsewhere you insult me and then don't even apologize? I will never return. They have permanently lost my business. Someone else can be treated like they don't matter in my place.

Dan, repairman, was amazing. Gas dryer motor was diagnosed "bad" as soon as he heard the dryer…read morenoises. Dan (a stroke of good luck) had the dryer motor in his van and replaced the motor quickly in one shot. Motor bearings were found bad. Repair price ($168.00 motor and labor) was very reasonable, and MY WIFE IS VERY HAPPY to have the gas dryer working again. Kudos Dan!

At Mikes, they quizzed me on my needs, and we sought out the best fit for MY needs, wants and desires. The appliances weren't the most expensive, or the cheapest or the oldest. Their first visit they went to the house did a mediocre job didn't even backwash the pool and the pool was left looking not good and cloudy . I called up and spoke to a woman on the phone who gave me an attitude because I'm calling letting her know that the pool looks bad after I paid them to service it and that this is a business that I am running here and then I need my pool, not to be cloudy and looking bad The owner drew the came to the house went on about how he's the best And how it takes time to get the chemicals correct 10 days later the pool looks 10 times worse and it's green. Then after I call other companies up and I got Liverpool Pool and Spa to come out and handle the situation, they told me how bad this company is, I can clearly see that as I just hired them less than a month ago, and I've already fired them. This is an inground $80,000 pool with a salt water system and the they can't even manage to get the Pool water clear, how could you trust them with any kind of installation? Since then I've bought all my guitars and amps from Terry, including a Martin acoustic/electric, a Strat, along with my sons Fender Jazz bass and amp. My son explored many stores checking out basses and amps. Terry asked what my son was looking for and what music he was playing. He let him browse and take his time with no pressure. Every time I go in with an instrument or amp in need of repair Terry drops what he's doing and, at the very least, looks at it or repairing it then and there. I went in looking for a new acoustic guitar and Terry found out I liked Martin's but couldn't afford one. He sold me a Martin with a cracked panel on the face at a fantastic price assuring me it wouldn't bother the sound and offered to fix it if it did. I still haven't repaired it. Places that have remained in business over the many years and are truly special during my younger days are few and far between.

Terry (the owner), was exceptionally helpful with suggestions about different types of wood, body shape, tonality and spent a good amount of time helping us find just the right one. We bought a Breedlove and a hardshell case, came home and we jammed together in our living room. You won't find this kind of customer service anywhere else in CNY.

He explained their products and affordable pricing, quoting us on both laminates and Hi-Macs (solid surface material like Corian), and explained the process. They were booking about 3 weeks out.
