I love this brand of flip flops. They are on the more expensive side and have gotten more expensive over the years. They are good quality, have good support, and comfortable. After finding OluKai, I have never bought another brand of flip flops. I did buy a couple of there casual shoes to try out, but I did not like them. They didn't fit well and weren't as comfortable. I just stick with the flip flops. This store is located in the Whaler's village mall. The store was clean and looked well stocked. The staff are friendly and helpful. I come to the store often. We are fans of their flip-flops. Whenever we come, we usually buy the new line that has come out. The store is located in a strip mall or Whalers Village is what it's called. We walked down from our villa, which was at least 2 miles away. The staff is really friendly and helpful. We looked at the new line of flip-flops and my wife bought some and so did I I like the colors. We had to buy some for their kids also. I love these slippers! I have quite a few and I've bought them to give as gifts. They are very well made and if there is a problem, this company stands by their products. I've only had a problem with one pair. Of course it was my favorite one. The right one started showing excessive wear and tear while the left one was perfect! I took pictures of it and emailed them OluKai on December 22nd. The very next day I received a reply saying that they will be sending me a new pair that day! I have Olukai Slippers ( thongs) from Olukai Maui. First they support your feet. So you can wear them for a longer time. And they wear like iron but shape to your foot. They are expensive, once I bought my first pair, I went on to add two more over time in other colors so I can rotate them and not wear them out. My favs are the Red ones. My brother and I are the same size and he got his first pair last birthday. He is now sold on them. Only problem I ever had is the sole had a delam or splitting. Warranty Stands tall here and they were factory replaced with Requirements met and photos sent. New slippers. I still would have replaced them myself if the warranty wasn't available. I really really like these slippers. With All my pairs, I've worn them 4 years. Highly recommend. read more

I was sitting next to a 20-something young man on the plane home and was admiring his shoes. He told me they were OluKai. They looked very comfortable, and I thought my son (21) would like them. They are trendy looking without being weird, and they also appear to work for people who have wider feet. A couple weeks later we are walking through Waler's Village in Maui and walk right into the OluKai store. All of the shoes there are amazing and well made. The designs are great. So happy to go to Whalers Village and see this shop open! Apparently they opened 4 days ago! I LOVE these flip flops (ie. slippers, thongs... whatever you may call them) I have had mine for over 9 years and they are absolutely wonderful! The store is super inviting and everything in it seems to have a meaning including the paintings on the walls, the sayings and even the rope used for the shelves. Ask about the line on the floor! I was at Olukai at the Whalers Village Maui on the Monday the 24th of Sept 2022. I was not given any attention by the staff members not a hello or a mahalo or a "can I help you". I was there for at least 25 min and nothing. The staff was very eager to help the two white couples in the store but not me. My daughter said this is how the world is white people over people of color which I guess she is right about. I really wanted to buy some new sandals but I just couldn't make a purchase from a place that couldn't even make an effort to help me. Best place to get functional shoes on Maui. To any tourist reading this, do yourself and your feet a favor and get some quality Hawaiian shoes or sandals made for walking and trekking in Hawaii. 1 star for the hysterically small store. 1 star for the friendly folks that work there. To say the store is 100 sqft is an overstatement. Olukai is a major company. Selling their stuff all over the U.S. And yet their signature store in Hawaii barely has 10% of their collection. It's a shame that Olukai did that to themselves. What a letdown. read more

I wanted to add a moving encounter at the OluKai store last night, after finalizing my transaction for my new pair of Kilipues. I must admit it is going to pretty cool having the only pair of these shoes in the Bay Area, perhaps even in CA or the mainland. The supervisor, Mareh, spent time last night enlightening me even more. I am sure I heard the same thing from Josh a few days before but for some reason I was paying attention this time. Mareh gave my wife and I the background information of how my shoes were designed and especially about the legend of Ohi'a and Lehua and their love for each other. I pay attention to these types of stories because I have the same deep love for my wife Bonnie. What is especially cool is that a Ohi'a tree will be planted by Josh and Mareh because of my purchase; check the website or visit the store for more details. In fact, Mareh will be texting over a picture of the planting of the tree when she and Josh do it later this month. My wife and I have always loved our OluKai shoes, owning over 15 pairs between us, but this story has gotten my even more committed to OluKai. They are more than just a shoe company, they are committed to Hawaii and their culture. There is a reason why my wife and I visit Hawaii every year, it just feels like home. read more
