Had a wonderful time out at the u-pick farm. We picked strawberries and cherries which were so sweet! The two young ladies there were very nice and helpful. We did go on a weekday and it was drizzling for the most part, so there was plenty of parking. The strawberry and cherry prices are $1.65 a lb which is better than market price and the experience of picking your own fruit was a nice one. read more

I have been U Picking at Olsen farms for over 20 years with my children and friends and have seen a complete change in the way they run their business .It used to be a fun and welcoming experience but unfortunately that has disappeared .I understood their need to ban personal vehicles due to wear on roads and danger of driving over irrigation equipment .But to demand that you do not use your own basket to pick cherries or berries to then transfer to their box seems inexplicable.I was told containers were allowed in the fields and the rational was it's their policy . I have never encountered so many unreasonable rules in any u pick farms .It feels like an unwelcoming and hostile place and I will avoid it and take my business to Fordyce Farms which welcomes a person with respect and courtesy. read more

I highly recommend stopping by this U Pick farm on visits to Salem. The blueberries were fresh and sweet and so were the triple crown blackberries. The BEST though was their small watermelon. The girls at the fruit stand picked it out for me. That sucker must had honey + sugar pumped into it. It tasted like it was out of a refrigerator which surprised everyone since it was nice and cold on a hot day. Overall we had a great time there. We also bought some peaches but after the watermelon the peaches didn't taste sweet at all. Bummer... should of had the peaches first... FYI, bring your own buckets or pay a dollar for their fruit boxes. Bring a large brim hat, suntan lotion and water. It's hot out there and not much shade for berry trees. read more

We were there today to U-pick peaches. I brought our boxes to fill. The lady at the stand said, "Oh, you can not use your own. We have big or small for you to use." I said, "ok, then I can put them in my boxes later. She said, "you can do what ever you want to." Kind of in a rude tone! When we finished she weighed them and wrote down 3 price amounts, and something else on the ticket. I then go to pay. Was a little surprised about the amount. When I got home the prices didn't add up correctly!! When I add it up, there was a $5.50 difference. If you decide to go, ask any and ALL questions. So that you are not miss lead!! Maybe bring your own scale and calculator. read more

This place was so fun. We went cherry and peach picking. We checked in at the front, and then they drive you in a UTV through the orchard on a dirt road. That was so fun, makes me want to get one. I have to say, fresh picked fruit is, hands down, way better than purchasing from the grocery store. They aren't shriveled, unripe, refrigerated, and are at full flavor. I will DEFINITELY be back and have already shared my experience on other social media and friends in Salem. read more

SO CONFUSING. They don't really explain to you how it works. Bunch of kids employed with the exception of the older lady running it I assume. Who was SO rude. Like I was taken aback by her comments to us and the way she talked to other customers. I will not come back and I do not recommend. Not worth it go somewhere else. read more

This is a huge farm with lots of produce, so I'm sure there are plenty of customers. I, however, won't be one. The customer service is not good. The cashier acted like I was there to make her life miserable. I'm too old for that. I did appreciate the ride out to the peach orchard, and my young companion had a good time. Also, the peaches were just okay (maybe because it was the end of the season?) I did buy a lug on impulse that were labeled 'ready to use!', but they were very hard. The u-picks were better, but still not as good as those I got at another orchard a couple of weeks before. read more

My daughters and I love picking seasonal berries every year here. We have been coming here for many years, and it never disappoints. The fruits and vegetables are delicious, and the customer service is fantastic. It's a great family thing to do with everyone. read more

Never done u picks here, but bought a box of peaches last week. Was told they were freestone and they were good peaches. They were green and hard, not freestone, and after leaving them out to ripen so we could eat them they started turning brown and I had to throw half of them out so far. I guess I won't be buying from them anymore. Too bad. They are right up the road from me. read more

This is a nice you-pick with tons of fruit varieties. So far I have picked blueberries, cherries, raspberries, and peaches. Prices are reasonable as long as you bring your own bucket/bag. I have been to other you-picks where they provide that free of charge (minto-brown growers) so be prepared. Also, you have to be driven into the picking area unless you want a long walk. So if you come when it's busy, you will be waiting at least 10 or more minutes just to get to your area/get back to the parking lot. The only real downside to this place is the drive.. it is a good 10-15 minute drive from Lancaster/Mission area.. so if you live in Keizer, downtown, or West Salem, expect it to be a 30 minute drive. read more

Rude!!!! Hours are listed at the farm and online as closed at 6.... but what that really means is 5. Apparently they don't want business. We got there right at 5 and was NOT greeted, in fact the 3 people there acted very annoyed we pulled up. Once we grabbed a box the one girl in the stand, very rude, tells us we aren't sending anyone else out in the field. We said, it is 5, don't you close at 6? She said we stop sending people out at 5:30, again it was 5, I said we can't go out for 30 mins? No. she says. We are a family of 3, we didn't need much. We would have gotten just enough in 30 mins or less. There was plenty of fruit I would have bought in the stand, but at that point I realized this isn't a "go getter" business and they don't care much about customer service. That's fine. I'd rather give my money to all the other great local farms we have. read more

Customer service and attitude of female owner needs serious work. A woman was shuttling people around to U pick and said she'd return for my two 3 year old niece and nephew since the ATV was full. She never did. Instead she ate a donut and took a break in the shade while my sister in law, 3 year old niece and nephew and grandma walked the looong walk back in 85 degree weather. When we asked why she didn't pick us up like she said she would, the owner (I assume - blonde chick) who was standing nearby, said (verbatim) "You're in my house and you're being disrespectful". Well then I will never come back to "your house" heartless woman. It's too bad she had to ruin the experience for us. The prices are good and picking fruit was fun. But not worth being mistreated by the owner. I hope she realizes she needs an attitude adjustment if she wants to stay in the customer service business. Our family won't be back. Third bad experience with this business. We are done. read more

I went here the other day with my daughter and my lovely mother in law and we had a grand ole Oregon time in the rain! Hahaha! We got rained on while picking juicy plump ripe strawberries went home and canned them all!!!! We picked about 10 pounds and paid $14 and a great memories with my family. Following the wet picking we went had tea and started canning! Made 3 batches of jam and a batch strawberry syrup!!!!! It's amazingly crave able yummy in your tummy! So I would highly recommend..... Remarks- from the parking lot there is a atv/golf cart that takes you to the strawberry field, that was super nice. The driver could have known a bit more about the farm, that was lacking and why I docked a star. read more

Purchased a box of peaches and asked specifically if they were free stone and was told they were. When I began the process of canning them, realized they were NOT! On top of that, the ladies at the counter were very rude. I've picked here for a few years and won't be back. read more

Great place to pick a lot of stuff! This year we picked cherries, raspberries, etc. always clean, and they have many ladders for picking up high in the cherry trees. Also a nice touch is the tractor trailer hay ride out to the fields and back in with your produce. They charge a very fair rate on their stuff, and the berries are big and sweet. Bring your own buckets, pre-weighed if you can. It's hard to stop picking, when the picking is so good! We'll be back again next year... read more

I didn't expect to get snapped at twice today! Two different members of the staff were super rude when they saw I had a leashed 5lb dog in my arms. I did not see a 'no dog' sign displayed. When a cashier yelled out to me (in front of all the other customers) I took the hint and walked away from the fruit stand. I was then followed by the second employee, and snapped at again. I showed her I had a plastic bag in my pocket 'just in case' but that didn't help. My tiny dog was on leash and OUTSIDE the picket fence of the parking lot! Their attitude about it was not necessary or appreciated. I prefer to patron establishments that are actually friendly to their paying customers. They could have found a way to nicely inform me their policy is dogs have to be left in the car (which is not technically an option in the summer). I regret we chose Olson, but now we know to try another farm next time! read more

We stumbled across Olson on the way to the state park with our grandsons. As farmers market addicts, we had to stop. We had so much fun riding to the prune plum orchards and picking fruit. We filled three boxes at $1/pound. There was a variety of fruit for sale as well as u-pick. read more

Have u-picked here for years because although fruit was more expensive than other u-pick, it was wonderful fruit. I WILL NO LONGER GO TO OLSENS because you can no longer drive out... You walk or ride on a trailer pulled by a tractor which could be fun if it wasn't so dusty plus we waited 45 min for the ONE tractor. Try walking with produce in the heat! Peach sign didn't point to peaches, no signage about drop off pick up places. I was headed to buy $100+ worth of goodies to can and bought $10 worth and won't go back. Sad others are steeling to cause Olsen's to do this but I refuse to be the one who pays for others'. Plus Olson's has no place on their website to comment on NOR HAVE THEY POSTED THEIR NEW POLICY! AND AT $2.00/LB for u-pick raspberries...I'M DONE DOING BUSINESS HERE!!! read more

The berries were great, but the service was less than memorable. They need a better system for transporting u-pickers back to the berries. We waited 20 minutes in a not very well monitored area where we were told we would get picked up by a truck to take us back to the blueberries. Several people cut in front of us because the truck picked people up in various locations in the parking lot other than the designated waiting area. We had our toddler and infant with us and when we complained to the owner at how long we had been waiting to for the truck, he basically told us we needed to be more "pushy" or we wouldn't get a ride. I felt that was rude considering we had two small children with us. We ended up giving up waiting and went home without picking blueberries. My toddler was disappointed but we couldn't stand in the heat any longer. I will not go back based on their unorganized transportation and poor service. read more
