If you buy for a large group, function, wedding or business Rays Produce is your best bet to save a lot of money. Great selection for food trucks and festivals as well.

Unfortunately, when I was able to stop back, I discovered that their hours are limited to Friday - Sunday. A few days later I returned with my bilingual sister-in-law in tow to educate me and translate. The space is a combination warehouse and grocery store with aisles filled with an array of spices and cultural foods not always stocked in big box grocery stores. There was a variety of fresh grown herbs at the entrance and a nice selection of fruits and vegetables at competitive prices. Local cheeses, jello treats and beverages filled the coolers. Their household goods included cleansers, cookware and disposable dinnerware. What stood out for me was the exotic fruits available that I'd never seen before. Sure, I've seen nopales (cactus), but some of the other prickly options looked like they came from another planet! I've heard of jackfruit, but could never imagine they grew to the size of a newborn! Sweet-tooth? They've got you covered! Just grab some pastries, cookies, candy, or hot spicy mango strips. Horchata, Juarito, and more. Depending upon the season you might find plants out front. Bring your bags because they don't have any, but they may have a box if you forget to bring them.

Next time I'm in the area, I want to try a pot pie for lunch. This is a nice quaint location that was busy. Definitely stop in if you're in the area.

May 2026 Oregon…read more Driving from Bend, Oregon to Newport on the coast saw this place and it had good reviews and decided to drive 10 miles out of the way to come here. You order your food at a counter in the back of the store. The open dining seating is in a different room. You go and get your food when the buzzer goes off. The buzzer is obnoxiously loud. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich comes with a pickle and a bag of chips. My husband ordered the pot pie. We both had a slice of pie. I chose a strawberry rhubarb and he chose the cherry. The chicken pot pie was very good. Had lots of fresh vegetables from peas to carrots, green beans, and potatoes. It was a good size for lunch, but a very small portion if it was your main meal. The grapes were large globe grapes, and they were firm and delicious. The chicken salad was delicious. Large fluffy croissant and the chicken salad had celery, chunks of grapes and onion. It comes with a bag of chips and a pickle. The pickle was large and crunchy. It tasted like a specialty pickle not one you would get at a typical store. The cherry pie was not the best. The crust tasted different than the crust that was with the strawberry rhubarb. It almost had a cinnamon taste. The strawberry rhubarb was fantastic. The crust was very dry, but the filling was delicious. My only complaint is the staff is not aware of the ingredients that are in the menu items. I first ordered some thing and told them I had an allergy to meet and they told me I was OK ordering the corn chowder. After taking a bite and getting an allergic reaction, they then check the book and find out it has bacon. There also was a cross-contamination with nuts. Overall, I would give this place 4.3 stars

It frightens me that this place would pass an inspection). I've never bought anything here but have been in twice in search of something specific. The first time I was told what I needed would be impossible to find in Salem no matter what. I found said item at Winco later that day and have since found it in my favorite local Mexican store. The second time I found what I needed but was too grossed out to buy it. I have my go to place for anything Mexican that we need/want now and this Paniagua Produce is just a smelly eyesore I keep my fingers crossed will shut down and be replaced by something that positively contributes to Salem.

This place is amazing because I can ALWAYS find fresh fruit. I've purchased several pineapples in the last month and they are always ripe and sweet and always under three dollars. My brother in law lives in Olympia and he said he had never tasted a mango so fresh. My boyfriend was really impressed with the mangos and the papayas. There is not a huge selection sometimes when some fruits are out of season. But, I truly love this store and go a couple times a week.
