I apologize in advance for the lengthiness of this review. My initial review was flagged & removed…read moredue to lack of a unique firsthand experience. Therefore, I will try to be as specific as possible. We contracted with Park Place Interiors (Windsor location) in January 2019 to perform tilework & refinish our hardwood floors. We had an extremely poor experience from start to finish. From cracked tiles with multiple repairs to two entire hardwood floor refinishes that were ultimately declared non-idustry standard. A member from the NWFA (National Wood Floors Association) recommended that our floors be completely re-sanded to bare wood & that resulting damages occured because best practices were not followed. From a customer service standpoint, we felt our concerns were never taken seriously & that we were dismissed time & time again. We allowed for several repairs to both our tile & hardwoods & remained out of our house for two weeks total while our hardwood floors were refinished - twice! The first refinish included multiple splotchy areas & was not the custom gray color we had chosen. Each time access was permitted, our home either sustained additional damages or underwent ill-attempted repairs. Dan, the president of PPI, placed brown wood putty on our gray hardwoods to cover a seam that had been missed during the two complete refinishes. He also tried to cut out stain from our carpets only to expose the existing plywood underneath. We felt we had no other choice but to hire legal representation after an "attempt to lien" was filed on our house. We had previously been threatened with PPI's attorney involvement & a submittal of our paperwork to 'PFC' (a local collections agency). Sharis, the owner of their Windsor location, stated that they had done everything within their power to fix our items & that this was just a ploy not to pay our bill. In other written correspondence, she alluded to the fact that we were not professional or tactful enough to be their clients (though, she had never personally met with us or listened to our concerns directly). Her opinion of us was based solely on hearsay information. Lastly, Keith, our project manager for the job humiliated us further by stating in a professional flooring report that in the forty years he had been doing this type of work, he had never seen a customer crawl on their hands & knees searching for problems & that he, personally, saw no defects in the work done to refinish our existing hardwood floor. The pictures speak for themselves. We were so disheartened that a proper resolve could not have been reached without legal intervention. We chose PPI because they were a local, family-operated business. Their mission statement is... "the difference is in the details." We honestly felt we had met our perfect match with a company that shared our same philosophy. We never imagined that PPI would not look out for our best interest. It took over 9.5 months from our project's start date for a settlement to be reached & it is now more than 1.5 years later & we are still amidst repairs! Bottom line: You are not obligated to pay for work that is not up to the standards of the industry &/or for work that results in consequential damages. And, it is a shameful practice for a business to attempt to bully a customer into payment... Buyer beware! The attached photos represent the actual work performed at our residence. We sustained damages due to stain contamination to our bathroom & kitchen cabinetry, adjoining carpets, tile floors, baseboards, handrails, door jambs, appliances, walls, etc. Additionally, we still have several defective floor tiles & ongoing grout issues.

Andrea and Bruce were helpful, professional, thorough, and gave us a very reasonable quote. Though we needed to go in a different direction due to the scope changing(found large scale mold infestation that needed remediation and more gutting out), we definitely were impressed with their quality of work and would have gone with them had that not been the case. Both are really helpful to work with and responsive to any questions. Highly recommend their services!

Andrea was responsive and friendly in all her contact with me. Bruce let me know when he was on his way so I was kept aware. The work was wonderful! They were so kind with a discrepancy I saw in a coupon and while it wasn't a big deal to me they honored it anyway! Wow!!! We are already planning on using them again for a couple more jobs. I would highly highly recommend. One other thing...be careful when reading reviews. There are many different Grout Medic franchises. Some of the reviews are for other franchises. I read one that said they don't do tile repair which isn't true. We had tile repair and cleaning done. Our shower looks phenomenal. Bruce did more than we even expected. So any negative reviews for Bruce and Andrea's franchise would surprise me. They are too good.

The quality of work on our kids' bathroom was absolutely outstanding -- every detail was done perfectly. Beyond the craftsmanship, what really set him apart was how he works. He showed up every single day exactly when he said he would, always positive and professional. He was incredibly thoughtful, detail-oriented, and constantly checked in to make sure even the smallest things were done exactly how we wanted -- including things we wouldn't have thought to ask for. He was very budget-conscious, transparent every step of the way, and flexible with sourcing materials -- happy to pick things up himself or let us handle it. He stuck to his timeline, worked efficiently without ever feeling rushed, and made it clear from day one that he wouldn't leave until we were 100% satisfied. Communication was excellent -- always responsive, easy to reach by text or email, and genuinely kind and professional. His pricing was extremely competitive for the level of quality we received. And as a bonus, he and his girlfriend even delivered cookies to clients at Christmas -- just another example of how much pride and care he puts into his work and relationships. It's clear he's built this business on his own through hard work and integrity. We would hire him again in a heartbeat and recommend him without hesitation.

Unfortunately I had a far different experience than the other reviewer. So we had water damage in…read moreour kitchen and living room so needed new flooring in both. The living room carpet was taken care of without a hitch. The kitchen was a whole other story. We visited Brinker's, they had a great selection. We picked out a laminate click together flooring that they told us how great a product it was. They came and installed it, it looked great, we were happy. A couple weeks later the flooring started coming apart showing significant gaps in between planks. Not necessarily Bob's fault, could be a product issue right? They came and looked at it, plus he had also called the company that makes that brand. Bob confidently said to my face that they told him he should glue down the outside of the flooring so it doesn't shift again. I called the company myself, explained the floor was shifting and making gaps, asked if they would recommend gluing it around the perimeter. The guy said, that's funny, he just had a guy calling about this exact question! He said gluing would never be suggested. That this is a floating floor, it should never ever be glued down or anchored in any way because that will cause buckling from contraction and expansion. Hmmm... would appear someone had boldly lied to my face? I would also like to mention that the man on the phone with the flooring brand also asked how it was installed. I told him the guy used a hammer to click the planks together. He then informed me that it only takes just your hands to snap them together and that some board ridges were probably busted from the hammer use, a hammer was not necessary. Anyway, after we got the idea of gluing the floor put to rest, we were told that Bob said he would get all new flooring and redo our kitchen floor. However when the installation guy showed up, it turns out he was only provided with 2 boxes of new flooring, and he was expected to use old and new flooring together! Go figure, that only about a week later our flooring was separating again! I wonder if it's because someone thought using older busted flooring together with the new would somehow work? Brilliant. After this whole fiasco, we weren't going to give Brinker's another chance. We used a different flooring company, they did an amazing job the first time around. Plus they found a couple places where Brinker's had anchored our floating floor to the subfloor, which would have inevitably caused more issues down the road. Sorry for the long review. I doubt this is a normal occurrence for Brinker's, no honest person could stay in business if it was! Hope you have better luck than we did.
